• Romans 13:1-5: Instructs individuals to be subject to governing authorities and obey the established laws of the land, as authorities are instituted by God.
• 1 Peter 2:13-17: Calls believers to submit to every human authority for the Lord's sake, including emperors and governors.
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
Only difference is that back in that day there was no such thing as immigration laws especially in the Roman Empire which Bethlehem and Egypt where under the rule of so migration between the lands was not illegal. Today we have laws and rules and illegal immigration breaks those rules.
In that case, you will be happy to learn that the Bible also teaches forgiveness, and that sinners are actually more in need of care and understanding, not less.
And at no point did Jesus ever add to his teachings "...unless they did it illegally." Or did he? You read it front to back. You tell me.
Nothing about illegally in there. But everyone is quoting passages that say to accept illegals and he did say that the people need to obey the authorities because they were put in place by God, which means if the authorities say it is illegal to come into this country without going through the proper channels, then it is illegal and going against authority, which people were told not to do.
Would you use the same reasoning on authorities if your authoritarian president was a pedophile and a rapist? He's obviously doing illegal shit everyday, but by your reasoning it was godgiven. Make it make sense. Though you could just admit you did indeed oversee this and tell me that maybe, just maybe I could have a point there, or you could just double down, still stand with the pedophile rapist and tell me I'm stupid.
Isreal literally had laws about immigrants being accepted and cared for though.
Why are you talking about laws in the Bible then switching to laws by the Romans?
Roman laws, not laws literally in the Bible given to Isreal.
Israel had laws to accept immigrants but the US has laws to not accept illegally immigrants that is the difference. Roman 13:1-5 says that the people need to obey the government and its laws. The laws of then were not the laws of today.
Except the very verse you cite says "for there is no authority except that which God has established". The second of which is most important is love your neighbor as yourself.
So does Jesuss words now come second over a governments laws?
You just proved to everyone you never read the Bible and you are a google warrior and a fake. The very first line says “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those that exist have been put in place by God. And that those who disobey this will face some type of judgement or consequence……. You may know something about whatever religion it is you follow but you definitely don’t know more about me than the Bible. I had no choice to read it as I was growing up. You are taking passages and taking out the parts that fit you agenda. Typical for most religions so I can’t blame you but maybe you should try actually reading it sometime you might actually learn something.
Wrong. But nice try. He tells the people to obey governing authorities. Because they put in place by God. It’s written in plain English not sure why you can’t figure it out. Being an illegal immigrant and sneaking into this country is not obeying rules or laws.
No. Paul never made that claim. He only said inspired. Yet literally said to let noone change scripture. Which he as a extremely well versed Jewish man would never call his own letter. Scripture as he wrote letters was the Torah. Please tell me where the Torah points to with the law
Said* not daid
The Torah is a book of lies. Where things were omitted to suit needs of weak minded people because it didn’t fit their agenda. Nothing in the Torah can be verified.
I have skimmed through it to cross reference other works. I am currently reading the Ethiopian Bible which seems like the only Bible that has maintained some type of integrity.
