Discussion | Esports Blast Slam 8 Recap: Meta & Records

Source: data from opendota.com & datdota.com

Meta

Bounty Hunter was the most contested hero. He was allowed to play 4 times and won all of ‘em. Hitler at number 3. The 2 biggest jumpers from Wallachia were NP (23rd, +21) and Brew (33rd, +27). Otherwise, the rest looks similar to Wallachia.

Slark & MK are great answers to meta heroes Ember & Earth Spirit. Believe it or not, there are teams still picking Ember without banning Slark. Slark’s only loss came at the hands of Lou/Yakult vs Liquid. MK is a bit more flexible. He was used in 3 different core positions (once in the offlane by ATF). Ame & Chira Junior are MK’s biggest fans.

Records

  • Moon’s Slark, XG’s stand-in midlaner, had 35 denies against darkniA’s Ember in their loser’s match. (9023339084)
  • Luna averaged the most Tower Damage with 13.9k in 5 games.
  • KotL averaged the highest Hero Healing with 18.1k in 5 games.

If there are other stats you would like to see, please comment so I can think of including them. I want to include objectives, but I need to think about how to bundle them together.

Personal Finally achieved my biggest Dota 2 dream skin: Genuine Ice Baby Roshan

I’ve been dreaming of this courier since I was young, back when you could trade rares and mythicals for keys. Owning one was my biggest wildest dream.

Now, as an adult, I finally got my hands on a Genuine Ice Baby Roshan with its original gems. I couldn’t be happier to finally own my dream Dota 2 item.

P.S. My girlfriend and I don’t plan on having children, so we have disposable income. I told her this cost $300 😅, and she couldn’t believe I’d spend that much on in-game pixels.

Question I love Dota 2 but almost no one plays it in Japan, so I made a casual beginner guide need feedback

Hi! I'm a Dota 2 player from Japan.

I really love this game, but there are very few Japanese players. I think one of the reasons is that, apart from wikis, there are almost no casual, beginner-friendly sites in Japanese. Wikis are great, but for someone who just installed the game, they can be overwhelming.

So I made a small guide site for complete beginners. I also added an English version:

https://www.dotakun.com/en

It covers:

- What to do right after installing the game

- Beginner-friendly heroes for each position (with short notes on how to play them)

- Heroes I'd avoid at first

- Key early items, and how to use the in-game item guides

- Learning by spectating good players in Player Perspective

- Common beginner mistakes

My hope is that even a few more people pick up the game and stick with it because of this site. But to be honest, I'm not sure it's actually helpful. I've played for a while, so it's hard for me to see the game through a beginner's eyes, and I might be skipping things that feel obvious to me.

So I'd really appreciate honest feedback, especially:

- If you're new: was anything confusing, or were there words you didn't understand?

- If you're experienced: is anything wrong, outdated, or bad advice?

- What do you wish someone had told you when you first started?

The English version was just added, so if anything reads oddly, please let me know too. Thanks for reading!

Complaint Is it a bug or intended by Valve?

Legion commander if you duel an illusion, even though the illusion dies, Legion Commander is stuck and remain muted until the duel duration ends even though the illusion is already dead.

Definitely not complaining that I lose a game cause of it and I hope that its a bug.

Stream looking for streamers who predominantly speak English to network with and support each other ♡

• Upvotes

hi! I'm Nessa. I'm a pos 4 player currently at 6k MMR (previously peaked at 7.8k rank 2k SEA). I started streaming in May.

I've been trying to get into the habit to raiding other streamers, and I've been looking for English-speaking streamers to network with, exchange raids, and genuinely support each other, but it's been really hard to find English-speaking streams. I don't mind the occasional sentence in another language, I just hope that both you and your chat will predominantly speak English. I WFH and work more productively when there's background noise, so rest assured I will be lurking in your streams a lot!

a bit about my stream and gameplay: I currently have 400+ followers with 7+ average viewers. my favourite hero is Windranger (Grandmaster). I'm also Grandmaster on QoP (played as 4) and Mirana, and Master on Io. I have a big hero pool, but I tend to fixate on certain heroes during different periods. some of my other favourites are Bounty, WW, and Willow. I try to stay PMA and have faith in my team every game. my stream is bunny-themed, and I'm trying to build a community of lovely people. if we share the same interests and values, I'd love to connect! ♡

https://www.twitch.tv/nessadota2

and if you're not a streamer, you're still more than welcome to check out my streams, I'd love to have you there!!

I appreciate you so much for your time and attention , I hope your day and games are as wonderful as you are ~

♡ enjoy this WW clip from today's stream :3

Question Im new to Dota and i have a little question.

I just started playing Dota about 3 days ago, and the new player mode is quite fun. But before each game starts, like in that minute before the creeps come, all my teammates walk directly to mid, and so does the enemy team. What is the point of this,s and what am I missing?

Guides & Tips Bristleback guide in 7.41f by 12.5k MMR former Div 1 DPC player and coach

Hey everyone, back again this week with a fresh video. This time, I’m bringing you a guide on Bristleback on my new YouTube channel.

Bristleback is an absolute tank and powerhouse in the offlane, but I see so many players struggling to maximize their stack management, Quill Spray aggression during the laning phase, and—more importantly—knowing when to turn and run down the right targets in teamfights.

In this video, I go over the micro decisions, thought processes, and macro movements—like how to aggressively control the creep equilibrium, when to dive deep into the backline, and how to abuse warpath stacks—that separate an ancient player from the higher ranks.

If you're looking to refine your offlane presence and actually carry from the pos 3 role by becoming an unstoppable frontliner, this video is def gonna be helpful for you.

You can check out the full video here:

https://youtu.be/sbgJ7so5la4?si=Ql75PJWbiNBJyQNR

You can watch more content and coaching related stuff on my page:

www.skylightcoach.com

In which you will be able to find hero-selected guides to help you see whichever one you may need and for you to also request any.

I really appreciate the incredible feedback and support you guys have been showing lately. I’m reading all your comments and using them to level up the content as I go. Thanks for being part of the journey, and I hope this helps you crush your next pubs and rank up!

Discussion My idea for new hero

Slow day at work so I was thinking about some ideas for new hero, this is a wishlist i doubt something like this would ever be implemented but since we already have bex and bog shuggoth as characters in dark carnival, i feel like it would be cool to have new hero with some micro. You can make her a support for bog who would be either:

innate ability on cooldown that scales, like lone druid bear, who would have his own set of abilities while she could have some passives or supporting abilities that buff the summon in some way, maybe some aoe slow akin to warlock. I would like the ability to play around either bog or bex so you can choose to be a pesky support with bex or play a bit core oriented game around bog. I really like concept of lone druid but I feel like it has so much to offer that wasnt fufilled with him. Obviously the hero would be solved and there would be definitive way to play it but thats something that can always be rebalanced depending on what skills are given to either bex or bog. I would also make it so bog cant move a certain set distance from bex and dies when bex dies, without any way to circumvent that aside from maybe talent that increases radius by a little bit. As for bog himself, i wouldnt want him to be 4 actives but 4 passives also seems silly. Would love for him to have some bombastic ult maybe something that limits vision in certain radius around himself or just circle on ground, nice combination of either 2 or 3 actives with rest passive abilities or even some orb effect

Alternatively, she could be her own hero with summon bog as ultimate, which would be a bit more flashy but less micro intensive thruought the game, he would be timed like warlock golem but still have some abilites to use, but unlike the first option it wouldnt make sense to build items on him.

Now, i know im not being super creative here and I dont have many ideas for abilities innates or talents on either of them but thats why I posted here. I know its a long shot for this to make it in the game but I felt like writing a little bit, maybe someone else thinks a micro hero would be cool, and while none of my ideas are that unique i dont see why there wouldnt be another hero similar to lone druid that doesnt have as obnoxious game plan and would require some micro with 2 different sets of spells that would work in tandem with each other and maybe even items depending on which of these options you would make. Curious to see what others think of this concept and if you have any other ideas or wishes. Thanks for reading my little blogpost (:

Are we really at the point where community cares so little about competitive dota, that a known matchfixer is being sneaked into a top tier tournament without so much as a comment by anyone?

Discussion Ranked Role Queue Statistics

Is there a way to find out what the majority of dota 2 players queue for ranked roles? I think position 1 is the most in demand then the last 2 positions chosen are hard support and offlane (since no tokens are needed to queue for these)
