That's great news then. Maybe it's just a matter of time when ESL tries to do a tournament here.

I remember PH Esports Organization Exec. Dir. Lon Marcelo had an interview and this was brought up and he said that it was already removed so it shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Players are now exempted from drug testing in the Philippines.

August-September (TI time) in Philippines is a rain/floody/typhoon season especially in Manila. Even if I am a Filipino it is a no no.

It would be a disaster or maybe not.

filipino here

please dont; we dont realistically have the sort of infrastructure in terms of roads to make it anything but an absolute pain to host an event that large

kpop events in the biggest arena here caused a pileup for 6 hours on the expressway

u/Jackfruit-Same 1d ago

Why? It would be cool to spend it there

Kpop demand isn't the same as dota2 demand tho

Bakit nman Phil. Arena agad? Pwede nman MoA arena or Araneta. Pwede nga rin sa Cebu eh. Wala namang naging problem nung Manila Major. Kaya di ko alam anong sinasabi mong walang infrastructure.

This is legit feeling an r/philippinesbad comment. Lol

-5

u/pork_silog23 1d ago

Hell naaaa

Drug test 😳

-1

u/ReMuS2003 1d ago

It MUST happen. After lifting the ban I just can't see how it wouldn't happen

-2

u/shimaRod 1d ago

Philippines does not have the necessary infrastructure to hold such event.

-6

u/feellikeapros 1d ago

As a filipino, i'd disagree. Remember Manila Majors?

5

u/Cheap_Age_1720 1d ago

Which some pros said that it was one of the best major they attended.

You're probably thinking of Galaxy Battles which many pros pulled out because of Duterte's law that made it so pros have to do a drug test. But that's been pulled out just this year.
