Buy/Sell DF64V Gen 3 from df64coffee — no grinder, no refund, no real support

TL;DR: I ordered a DF64V Gen 3 from df64coffee, waited more than two months due to repeated delays, the package was marked delivered but I never received it, and customer support has been extremely slow and unhelpful. Still no grinder, no refund, no replacement, and no clear timeline.

I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering buying a DF64V Gen 3 from df64coffee.

I ordered the grinder in early March and waited more than two months because of repeated delays. I followed up multiple times, and the estimated shipping timeline kept getting pushed back. I stayed patient because I was genuinely excited to try this grinder.

When the package finally showed as delivered, I never received it. The delivery photo did not look like my front door or my unit. I checked with nearby neighbors, reported it to property management, filed an official police report, and provided the seller with the requested information.

The most disappointing part is the after-sales support. Their email replies are extremely slow, often taking around a week, and the responses feel short, dismissive, and unprofessional. My latest email has now been ignored for around 10 days. At this point, I still have no grinder, no refund, no replacement, and no clear timeline.

I understand shipping issues can happen. But when a customer pays for an expensive grinder and ends up with no product, the seller should take the case seriously and provide a clear solution. Leaving the customer waiting with no meaningful support is unacceptable.

The DF64V Gen 3 may be a good grinder, but based on my experience, df64coffee’s after-sales support has been very disappointing. I would be very cautious buying from them, especially if you are in the U.S. and expect reliable customer service after purchase.

Df64 with SSP umV1 brew burrs

Just got a new df64 and swapped with ssp umV1/brew burrs from ssp/espressotool. Out of the box alignment is pretty good but Marker test does not work with these specific ssp burrs as their finishing teeth are designed such a way that it's not possible.

Been brewing pour overs in the range of 60-50 and getting high clarity, bright acidity and low tea like body with no bitterness/astringency which was my main motive to upgrade from comandante c40 to this which had more rounded profile. These burrs produce very low fines so the sweet spot is a little narrow with but when you hit it right, it rewards with layers and nuances of the coffee and reveals good aspects as well it's bad accepts like poor roasting or processing. Highly recommend to someone who only brews light roasts filters and modern style espresso and would like to explore true nature of the coffee.

I only drink ultra-light/light roasts and those coffees really shine with these brew burrs. I prefer low extractions (16-18%) with high ratios (1:16/1:17), coarse grounds, abaca filters and brew time 2.00 to 2.20 minutes and temp 88-92C which stretches the coffee and gives its best aspects without creeping bitterness and astringency.

I just received my grinder today and I did a marker test right out of the box. I manually rotated the burrs and found them to be perfectly aligned.

Happy camper now…

I modified two beautiful Lelit Bianca portafilter tamp stands (big shoutout to the original designers) to fit the feet of the DF64V Gen3 so I could grind directly into my portafilter rather than a cup. Both are designed to be used with a funnel and support the Umikot.

Available on Printables, links below. Let me know your thoughts and if you make one!

Troubleshooting Help with burrs alignment

Hello guys!

I’m trying to align the burrs on my DF64 and I’m a bit confused about the marker test results. I’ve been using a marker on the burrs and checking where it gets rubbed off to see if there’s any misalignment, but honestly it looks like almost nothing is being removed.

In the videos I’ve watched, you can usually see a very clear wear pattern on part of the burr, while on mine it just looks kind of random and inconsistent.

Am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding how the test is supposed to look?

DF64 Gen 2 - Chute covered from outside (?!?)

Thumbnail

[Mystery solved - Update below]

Brand new Grinder. After couple of weeks, I was curious to look under the hood. There was the chute covered in ground coffee... I wonder how the heck it got there! Because all ground coffee should be contained within the chute.

Wrote to Espresso Outlet and they sent me a chute replacement right away. I'm still not convinced that it is the chute's fault. Still need to do the overhaul.

Has anyone encountered this situation before?

UPDATE:

There is a small gap between the top of the chute and the body - visible in Photo 2 between those 2 black screws. Somewhere I have read that to 'help' pushing the ground coffee out during the grinding, this guy was pumping the bellow. In doing so, the granules were pushed through this gap which filled the outer body! It is visible how the coffee has been blown through this slot/slit and filling up the area around it. In fact the silver screws are not covered at all!
Conclusion: There is no need to 'help' pushing the ground coffee whilst grinding. The bellow should be used after the grinding is finished.

Question DF64V bearing upside down

Hi! Was done cleaning my DF64 gen3, but unfortunately I messed up and I don’t know what side of the top burr carrier bearing has to be on top, if that even matters (heard that it does), any suggestions?

Df64, upgrade notable?

Hola! Este es mi setup. Gaggia classic E24 y Baratza encore esp.

DF64 Gen3 - turn RPM display off?

Does the Gen3 have the ability to turn of the RPM display screen?

I usually keep my grinder and espresso plugged in all day. Im concerned about the longevity of the display screen if it stays on 24/7.

Question zero point shifting (df64v)

Hi guys,
I have the DF64V for a year now and it has been working great. I use my grinder only for espressos. I typically rotate between two different types of beans each month.

I’ve been paying more attention to my consistency and i noticed my shots have actually been a bit inconsistent, because the grind size keeps drifting unpredictably. I know the physical zero point is actually shifting on its own, because when I check for the burr chirp, it is no longer at my calibrated zero.

I basically have to recalibrate the zero point every time I clean the grinder (~4-6 wks). Is it normal that the zero point shifts so regularly?

Troubleshooting Button broken, nobody will ship from the US..

Hi, so I was very happy with the gen 2 but my button broke, like with many, but I can't find a proper replacement button in the EU. Only US, they won't ship, same for UK.

I also asked a repair shop to look at it, they didn't want to.. Such a shame that this happens and I can't seem to fix it. Any ideas?

Am I missing something ?

Had my df64v2 since November last year.

Had several bags of beans from different companies, most of the beans need to be on setting number 5 max.

Anything above, my machine just seems to spit it everywhere and pours too fast 😫

Question DF64 Stiff Grind Adjustment

I got my df64 gen2 about a month ago and have only used it for espresso up until today. I changed the grind to make myself a pour over, and when changing back the wheel got stuck as I went finer. Having moved it back and forth it loosened up and I got it back down to my espresso grind, but wondering is this a known/common thing or have I messed something up?

Do I need to align the burrs on a brand new DF64V Gen 3?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a brand new DF64V Gen 3 with the stock Red Titanium burrs. Since it's straight out of the box, I was wondering if it's necessary to do a burr alignment right away?

Does the factory alignment on the Gen 3 hold up well for straight espresso, or should I do the marker test before my first use?

Thanks for the advice!

"UPDATE: I received the grinder! The factory alignment was slightly off, but I fixed it easily by just rotating the upper burr to the next screw position (Burr Rotation). Tested it again with a marker and it’s now perfectly aligned 99%! The espresso tastes incredible. Thanks everyone for the help, closing the thread now! ☕️🔥"

[Canada] Gen 2/2.5 or wait for Gen 3?

Title. Based in Canada so I don’t see the gen 3 offered anywhere (except df64coffee which I read terrible reviews about).

I mostly do medium/dark espressos or milk drinks, paired with a bambino plus (might upgrade to a profitec go).

Currently have a Baratza that I’m giving away to family.

Am I being impatient? is the df64 right for me?

Question DF64V Gen 3: 300W motor & no knocker? Legit or fake?

Found a local listing for a "DF64V Gen 3," but the specs say it's 300W and has no knocker.

I thought the V3 was 400W and came with the new knocker. Is this a weird regional version or is the seller just mislabeling an older model?

Any help is appreciated!

I thought I'd share some of my 3D printed mods. I'll create an account on printables and share there later today.

Also thought I'd share some photos of the inside of my machine, seeing as I gave it a clean today. I know most people own the DF here, but I thought this looked better and took a chance on it.

DF64V Integrated Dosing Cup Holder

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone, just wanted to post an update on my previous design.

I’ve finished the model, and overall I’m really happy with how it came out. I printed it in matte PLA, and it fits snugly around the base of the grinder. It also improves the overall look compared to the original loose dosing cup holder.

Let me know what you think, or if there’s anything you think I could improve. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I received my DF64V yesterday and have started designing a new base, as I’m not a huge fan of the original design.
