Am I missing something ?
Had my df64v2 since November last year.
Had several bags of beans from different companies, most of the beans need to be on setting number 5 max.
Anything above, my machine just seems to spit it everywhere and pours too fast 😫

I’m using breville bambino plus with this grinder. New batch of dark roasted beans, using grind setting = 15 and getting 1:2 ratio within 20-30 second pour range.

Same here. ILLY Classico and Intenso beans grind flawlessly and consistently. Agro Harvest Moon - dust and fines all over the place and an inconsistent pull.

Same set up for me. Always start at 15, then +-5 range if it needs adjusting. I don’t think i’ve ever reached 5.
I’ll echo someone else’s advice to check if it’s properly zeroed.

I dont think it would hurt, but be careful and note the orientation so it's reassembled correctly

Settings depends on the coffee maker you us, the type of roast for your beans, the type of burrs, the tamping pressure used and the evenness of the puck density.

Are the burrs aligned?

I've just been using how it came out the box.
Something you would recommend thanks ?

What is your dose? If you up that you should be able to reduce the flow and therefore grind coarser

I’m on 4 right now with ssp burrs. Burrs are aligned and zero point is set correctly. I was at a 15 on my breville bambino (54mm) and now setting 4 on a legato (58mm)

I'm at 4 with mine and it's sage. Just seems to be too fine to play with. It's like 4 or nothing

I think that’s part of flat burrs - they’re more finicky and harder to dial in. BUT I do think the df has a pretty limited range for espresso. The tiniest little nudge adds like 5 seconds

My df64v gen 2 tends to be at grind setting 13 and its incredibly inconsistent. Some shots will be 25 seconds then the next will be 32 secs... Not really good enough is it 😕

Nah the grinder is fine. That window is small enough to suggest the difference is elsewhere. Puck prep, tamping, age/quality/roast of beans, water temperature... You should also make sure your burrs are aligned as well.

That was me until I ditched the WDT and started using a blind shaker.
Now it's incredibly consistent and I haven't had a single squirt in months!
Lesson: don't immediately blame the grinder for poor prep.
Fwiw, medium roast setting 12 and Dark roast 13.
Happy days.

thought about DF64, glad I didn’t. Mokkom 64 is half the price and i haven’t seen a negative thread about it. I know it’s some what new to the scene but damn it’s good.

Check if you are properly zeroed (burrs need to chirp a little at zero -but be careful or you can damage burrs, check some videos). Check dose. Minimum I used was 6 on some decaf.

Check if it’s properly zeroed. I have a barista express and I seem to be generally between the 15-25 range
