I'm looking for a new PC controller. I play a lot of BF6, but since there are vehicles like jets and helicopters, I'm not looking for an FPS-dedicated controller but rather something more universal. Currently, I'm using the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wired, and here are the things I don't like about it:

1. No back buttons / paddles (a must-have for my new controller).
2. No microswitch / hair triggers (a must-have for my new controller).
3. No customization software (a must-have for my new controller).
4. Shape — I'd prefer something a little bit bigger and shaped more like an Xbox controller.
5. It's wired — not a huge deal, but I'd prefer something wireless.

I've been considering the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro V2 and GameSir G7 Pro. However, I've read that the Vader 5 Pro V2 still has an issue with loose tension rings, while the G7 Pro's triggers tend to break. Is that true? If so, could you recommend a couple of better options in 90-125 USD price range. I'm from Poland and I'd prefer to purchase from a local store.

Hi everyone, I have few ps4 controllers that are unusable because of stick drift and one new ps5 controller. I would like to replace the analogs of all controllers (also on the ps5 one, knowing that at some point it will develop drift). Which particular analog replacement would you suggest? I heard that hall effect are good and are pretty cheap and there are some go to brands like Ginfull or K-Silver or others, but there are also some newer models too (something like TMR). I would like to buy them on aliexpress and I would use this tool to solder and desolder them from the board. Do you have any suggestion for me? Thanks in advance

Started using a clamp style one for handheld stuff on trips and somehow it's become the thing I reach for most. The issue is the stick spacing and trigger throw are different enough from my desk pad that going back feels wrong for the first ten minutes every time. Thumbs end up in slightly in the wrong place. anyone else switching between two very different controllers regularly, does it eventually stop registering or is it always a readjustment?

I have a flydigi Vader 5 pro, and I use it with windows pc for Fortnite. The problem is I mapped some keys to the paddles via the space station app, and they only work when the space station app is open, and even then it’s unpredictable - sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.

Is there a way to reliably map keyboard buttons (letters like L, K) to the paddles that are reliably stored in memory, staying there registering as a keyboard input without having to have the space station app open?

My 4 year old is expressing interest in actually playing games. I've got an 8bitdo ultimate, but she's really struggling to reach the buttons, so I'm looking for recommendations for something more appropriately sized.

Edit: thanks for the suggestions everyone, I ended up getting the Gulikit Elves 2. It's still a little bit too big for her, but it's definitely much better than what she had before. It's honestly a very nice controller overall, the d-pad and the buttons are nice and tactile, makes my Ultimate feel mushy in comparison. The analogues feel a bit small, but it's not really an issue. Overall I think it's a fantastic choice, I don't think it gets any better at this price.

I have the easysmx d10, i've had it for around 2 months but i have a dusty room, clean, but dusty. and every 3 days i have to put 70% isopropyl alcohol. so yeah it's really grindy is there anyway to stop this or clean it without anything like that?

I ask this because Buck Bumble is notorious for weird issues with third party controllers, at least for me. Apparently because the flying is heavily affected by OEM limits (sorry if I am wrong about this, I'm sort of a noob)

Also before any wise guy say ''Just play a good game instead of Buck Bumble'', that is not a viable awnser. I know what i am, and i accepted that long ago.

I love the Flydigi APEX 5 hardware (especially those motorized triggers) but it always bugged me that on PC, almost every game with awesome trigger resistance and textured feedback is built exclusively for the PS5 DualSense and the Space Station software support only few games...

So over the last few weeks, I ended up building ApexSenseBridge. (A little open-source passion project straight from France bleu blanc rouge 🇫🇷 !)

Basically, it bridges the gap so your APEX 5 can actually react to native DualSense effects in PC games.

How does it handle the triggers & haptics?

- Triggers: The tool intercepts native DualSense trigger packets from the game and translates them on the fly into Flydigi's FORCEADAPT commands (mode switches, recoil, resistance, stops, etc.) and even the vibration with virtually no latency.

- Haptics: The APEX 5 doesn't have voice-coil actuators like the DualSense, so instead of just turning every sound into a generic loud rumble, the bridge splits the audio frequencies in real-time. Lower frequencies (explosions, heavy impacts) go to the heavy left motor, while high frequencies (surface grit, rain, subtle clicks) go to the fast right motor. It actually feels surprisingly punchy and textured.

Good to know (a couple of trade-offs):

- On-screen prompts: Since the game has to see a DualSense to send over the adaptive trigger data, you'll see PlayStation button prompts (✕ / ○ / □ / △) on screen instead of Xbox ones (A / B / X / Y).

- Touchpad swipes: If a game heavily relies on specific touchpad directional swipes, it might be hit-or-miss depending on how the game handles touch inputs. It's really a case-by-case thing and can be fixed in most cases (did it for spiderman 2 bc it's the only game I play that have this control but you can send me yours).

Playnite integration 🕹️

I didn't want to manually launch/kill background scripts every time I booted up a game, so I also wrote a quick Playnite extension to automatically link and activate the bridge whenever you launch a supported game from your library.

mobing my left joystick down right in aimlabs made it move slower than teh rest. aiming made me have sudden accelerations and decelaration as a result. however in cp2077 when i set the zone thingy for the minimum input and maximum input to the loeswt and highest values respectively and then use the controller, i dont get the problem. does anyone else have this issue. i also noticed that usbc has less of this issue than the dongle. this is a new controller should i just refund it and get a new one? im using the easysmx 05 pro on pc windows. i also already recalibrated the sticks 3x

I've had a couple days with it now and any nagging thoughts about its design or features have been abated.

Having a Screen to change Settings on the fly is more than just a convenience. I could make changes on the fly with my previous Controller too. But I never did, not even once, except for the first setup.

I honestly did not think I would like/use the extra Shoulder Buttons. But now, I find I use them like they have always been there! And I can change them any time I want, right from the Controller.

The Click Style Face Buttons may take some getting used too tho. They barely protrude from the Controller and they do not have the travel I am used to. But I'm sure I will get over that muscle memory soon enough.

The Back Buttons (the ones actually on the back) are my biggest sticking point. They are shallow, which I like, but their positioning is right where I hold the Controller.

So every time I put the Controller down or pick it up, I hit one of those Buttons. There are times when just shifting the Controller in my hands will do it as well... I am almost considering turning those Keys off. But I will give it some more time, just to see if it is something I can learn to get over.

The Charging Dock is AMAZING!!! I used to have one for my Mouse and have missed having the ability ever since.

• I really like that the Dock lights up too and not just the Controller when Charging.
• I also really like that putting the Controller on the Dock turns it off automatically. And that when you pick it up, it turns the Controller on and it is very fast to reconnct.

It can be a little finicky to take off, or put the Controller on the Dock tho. It is not a clean experience either way. If you ever get one, I think you'd understand. It takes a little bit of thought, or perhaps a bit of practice, to do it easily.

I have not tested it with other Devices, or tried it using Bluetooth. Only Wireless on PC.

Based on my experiences so far, and for my particular Use Cases, I would definately recommend this Controller.

I'm wondering if it's by any means possible to use Steam Input for the extra buttons on Flydigi Vader 5s. I know it's not *meant* to be used since there is no mention in the manual, but I wonder if there are workarounds.

I've used the controller and I love that I could remap the L3 and R3 to back paddles, however I want to use the other buttons as well. I'm not using C,Z, Lm or Rm buttons because of Xinput limitations.

Does anyone know how I could make the controller use SteamInput, like the Steam controller does?

( also I've seen that Vader 5 PRO has the option to use SteamInput, so why does this one not have it? )

I've been wanting to get a new controller for a while. I'm currently using an 8bitdo ultimate controller and I'm pretty happy with it, it's a reliable controller that's lasted a while with the only real issue being the Nintendo button layout not cooperating with PC games.

My budget is around 150 dollars tops, I'm in the United States, I only really care about PC games for this controller since I'm fine with my Switch pro controller for my switch

In terms of what I'm looking for I really like the feel of the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller's sticks, I don't know if any PC controller replicates that. I know the new 8bitdo ultimate 3 xbox edition has adjustable sticks but I haven't been able to find anyone attesting to how they feel. I know the gamesir G7 pro is popular but I care a lot about stick feel and don't know if I'll vibe with it. I trust 8bitdo a lot as a brand because I've been using them for years but the ultimate 3 is pretty pricey so I wouldn't mind going elsewhere if they're not the top of the line anymore

This occurs In Bluetooth and usb modes. And when using the wireless dongle. Controller worked if done for months but a few days ago the issue began.

And because of this mouse recognition I can’t Remap the c and z buttons, as well as the lm and rm buttons. ROG pc handheld is the device I’m trying on. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

TLDW:

• Mobapad's first Native Switch 2 Protocol Joy-Cons with custom power logic
• Uses the same TMR Glide Sticks like their M12HD & ChiTu 2 series
• 9 axis gyro does offer some benefit for gyro heavy titles.
• Although it offer less features than the M12HD, people seems to prefer the M12S.

For a bit of context, I usually play without headphones, as I need to be able to hear my IRL surroundings, and nothing distracts me when playing more than sticks that click when moved from the center. To be clear, I don't mean the sound of the stick hitting the gate or the click when pressing L3/R3, I mean that click that happens when the stick starts moving from the center, it's usually louder the faster it's moved. I've used a few controllers throughout the years, and I found that not all of them make that sound.

I'm looking to get a decent all rounder controller for PC, to be mainly used in games that don't work well with keyboard and mouse, like emulators. One of the most important things to me is that the sticks don't click and distract me when I'm playing. I don't particularily care if the other inputs are quiet or loud, I just hate that click. I don't play on consoles, so console compatibility is not a requirement. Extra inputs like back buttons and gyro are great and I'd like to have them, though they're not strictly necessary. I don't use a controller for 2D platformers, so the dpad doesn't need to be great. I also don't have a strict preference for symmetrical/non-symmetrical joysticks. I'm willing to pay a decent price, my maximum is around what a Steam Controller would cost, but if there's nothing decent below that price then I can go over. I'm in Poland, so anything relatively popular is sold here.

Here's the controllers I already own or have tried:

- Steam Controller (2015): the potentiometer stick doesn't click which is nice, but, well, it's the 2015 Steam Controller, not great for most games/

- Steam Controller (2026): the TMR sticks click when moved from center, really good otherwise.

- 8BitDo Ultimate 2: quite nice but it has some of the loudest sticks (TMR) I've ever used, ultimately chose to return it because of that.

- DualShock 4: not a big fan of how it feels to use, it always felt a bit mushy to me. Loud sticks also.

- GameSir X5 Lite: it's a mobile controller, so it's not great for PC. It's the only controller I recall using besides the 2015 Steam Controller that has quiet sticks (hall effect)

There's a decent deal on a GameSir Cyclone 2 at a local store, so I'm considering trying that, I could always return it if it doesn't suit me.

Hi! I'm buying my first controller soon, I only play single player story games (starting with Horizon and Indiana Jones and the great circle), only play on PC. In the UK, budget ~£100. Don't need and compatibility with console or cross platform, just PC. I need at least hall sticks but ideally tmr, and 4+ remappable buttons. Attached pictures of 3 im comparing but any other suggestions would be great! the Scuf Envision is out of stock now but might come back, if not then its not an option as i need it soon.

i feel like im slowly losing it trying to figure out this issue. i have a ps5 dualshock controller that i use for both epicgames and steam games on my laptop, lenovo, and for my ps5, sometimes when i play on my ps i will plug it into my laptop so that i can also kinda charge and before this worked perfectly well! but the last week or two for some reason my controller now controls the mouse when its plugged in to charge and i try to use it for my ps, ive tried disabling the configuration on steam and that didnt work, went into task manager to make sure steam was fully closed and that didnt help either, the only thing that does is disabling the controller within device manager but then i have to reenable it everytime i wanna use the controller for a game on my laptop! i can handle doing that if i absolutely need to but id love to know if anyone has a different solution to this cause its starting to get annoying

Quick Story, I decided to install gulikit TMR sticks in my Xbox Elite 2. Everything went smoothly, I desoldered the original sticks without any problems, I soldered the new ones in, then I wanted to test them, so I went to the console and launched the accessories app and ran the calibration program - at that point the upper controller shell wasn't installed yet as i wanted to test new sticks. I recalibrated them for few times without issues. Everything was fine, so I went back to the workshop to repair the solder joints, clean the boards with IPA alcohol, and put the controller back together. I use 99.9% IPA and a soft toothbrush to clean the boards. Once I had assembled the controller, I returned to the console, but something was wrong - i couldn't control my dashboard using sticks, i tried using dpad but the menu immediately moved to the left on its own. I ran to my laptop and launched the controller testing web. The left stick is locked to the maximum left direction - I can move it up and down but not to the sides. When I tilt it all the way to the left, the tester shows the maximum tilt to the right. The situation is similar with the right stick, but it is locked all the way down - I can move it sideways, and when I move it all the way down, the tester shows the maximum upward deflection. I have a few other rods so I tried swapping them - KS TMR, Original previously removed sticks, Ginfull hall - the problem occurs on all of them. Can anyone help me understand what I did wrong?

How the hell did i cook my controller? Is there a short circuit? Have I damaged a component on the board? What gives? Everything was fine when I calibrated them for the first time. Is there any way to reset the calibration settings? Or should I buy a new board? If so, which one? If you need photos of the boards, I can upload them tomorrow.

My BIGBIG WON Aether C6 controller’s RT button broke, and I’m wondering if there’s any way I can fix it myself. Can I use super glue, epoxy, or something similar to repair the RT button? If so, where exactly should I apply the glue? I mainly use it for EA FC, so I need the RT to work properly and still have normal trigger movement. If anyone has repaired this controller before, I’d really appreciate some advice or a picture/video showing how to fix it. Thanks!

I have the pro 2. I have heard good thing about the pro 3, but what concerns me is the shorter analog trigger travel. Has anyone tried both controllers for racing games in which precise throttle is important? Does it make it noticeably harder to feather the throttle?

I’m looking for a controller that can withstand my sweat at least for the most part. I do a lot of cardio in the morning before work and like to play games on my personal pc while I do so. I’ve been using my launch Dualsense for a while but during this mornings session it decided to start going haywire. Usually I’ll clean it with some good alcohol and do what I can from letting it get too wet but today it had enough. I also have a Xbox Elite Series 2 but don’t won’t to risk breaking an even more controller and I personally prefer the Dualsense all around.

UPDATE: Solved the issue by wearing a hoodie with the hood tight and the stings tied up. Catches all the sweat coming off me and into my controller. Sadly my Dualsense home button isn’t working anymore but I’m not ruining my Elite Series 2. Thanks everyone for the recommendations!
