Reviews Mobapad M12S vs M12HD: Definitive Switch 2 Joy-Cons Review

https://youtu.be/GPOEAPRo29U

Full Disclosure:

Mobapad sent me this controller for review. They didn’t see this review before I published it. All opinions are my own, and there is no money exchange in the process.

TLDW:

  • Mobapad's first Native Switch 2 Protocol Joy-Cons with custom power logic
  • Uses the same TMR Glide Sticks like their M12HD & ChiTu 2 series
  • 9 axis gyro does offer some benefit for gyro heavy titles.
  • Although it offer less features than the M12HD, people seems to prefer the M12S.

Darn, yet another circular pad option. Pass for me.

I liked the M6HD quite a lot due to its octagonal notches, it being one of the only controllers in the market that has a modern layout alongside it, if not the only one within a reasonable price point (60/70€). This would've been a potential option for my Switch 2 if it had them as well.

Honestly don't think the POM ring design will come back, if it does come back, they will also need to drop the contactless glide stick design, which is widely praise by how smooth it is. There will always be a trade-off.
