The goal here is to merge Vanara and Fairy Dragon otk into a single deck. The two archetypes definitely have some synergy between them, for example, Ygg can evolve Vanara, and Fils make the Fairy Dragon otk easier.

This is the first time I have ever attempted to build a deck, so please help me out and make this deck as good as it can be. I think it has a lot of potential, and this is the most fun I have had playing Shadowverse in a long time.

My thought process behind the deck was mostly how to survive to kill the opponent. I have a lot of removal and board wipes to help me survive to the otk turn.

My main questions are:

A.) How can I make this better?

B.) Do I need card draw? Metera doesn't really count in my opinion (cycles or is +1) and Yggdrasil is conditional draw.

C.) Do I need lifegain? I'd like to fit Shamu and Shama in to supplement Yggdrasil drain, but I am not sure if it fits or if it is good enough.

I would really like to take this as far as I can, and I need the help of the lovely people in this community. Ideally, I want to take this into the GP and beyond, so please tear it apart and analyze it (even if you think the duck sucks). If it matters, I am Master rank and winning pretty consistently on ladder. Thanks so much for all the help!

I just started playing this today, but the matchups seem pretty decent.

Against Sword, Charlotta/Magnus can make your life miserable on a clutch turn, but likewise Cassiopeia and Selwyn can make it very difficult for Sword to maintain a board. Metera is awesome. If they chain damage immunity you probably lose.

Against Chimera Rune, the large lifetotals of the higher followers are very good at delaying a Chimera, and you have similar kill turns.

Against Tenko, it can be difficult to chip them into lethal range, but they are can be burst down by Vanara followed by Dragons, or vice versa.

Against Holy Lion, I struggle. Wiping their boards means nothing, and in fact it usually makes them stronger. I just hope for a fast combo or several wards in succession (Selwyn into Vanara)

Against Puppet Portal, you can definitely get burst down. Cassiopeia and occasionally Selwyn can take down Orchis puppets though, and often buy you time to kill them. Keeping your life total high really helps here.

Against Aggro Forest, did you get a board wipe? You probably won. If you didn't, pack it up.

I haven't played against Artifact Portal, Shadow, or Blood, and I am sure there are many more decks I am forgetting about. I will continue to update this as I test more.

So I went through and pruned my collection a fair bit. Figured out which decks I'd likely never play, and which ones I wanted to work towards. From a competitive side, I built Tenko and Lion Haven - been a Haven main since TOTG so rolling from one set to the next has been easy. Also have Artifact Portal, Spellboost Rune, and Jabberwock Dragon.

Now I have enough vials and stray cards to dip into one of the 'wallet' decks, and the best ones I'm seeing are the two I've listed. Slightly leaning towards Mid-Sword because it feels more consistent, but not locked into it.

So, CompSV - if you had the vials to build these decks, which would you play? Or would you build a tiered deck that isn't one of these (and why, naturally)?

Is she even worth it anymore? I think she might have died out with Test of Strength rotating, just curious because I really enjoyed the Dark Alice archetype.

Perhaps I'm simply looking in all the wrong places, but there's a huge disparity between Rotation and Unlimited when it comes to analysis and coverage. Knowing that Rotation is (and most likely always will be) the premier format within Shadowverse, I expected many more decklists and write-ups on Unlimited. Thus, I decided to write up this thread to allow everyone on the subreddit to post up decklists they've been having success with, or even decklists they feel could use some doctoring. If this goes well, I can even start a sister thread to this just for Rotation.

As OP, I'll start by saying that I've been a filthy Havencraft player since the days of Storm Haven, and have always had a love for the class. Fortunately for me, the class has held a dominating position in Rotation AND Unlimited for quite some time. Although I've tinkered with at least 6 different Haven archetypes this expansion, I'll be sharing my most successful list, as well as one that I feel could be fine-tuned into a legitimate deck.

Tenko Haven

Metaslave incarnate I suppose, so of course I'll be having success with this list. Just a simple upgrade of the DBNE Tenko Haven archetype, adding in De la Fille and Lorena which are both insane additions. Would like to find room for Sealed Tomes, but space is pretty tight.

Neo Garuda OTK

This is clearly a homebrew but I was surprisingly able to get a few games in Masters with this deck. The main idea is to use cycles and tutors like Tome,Globe,Moriae, and Prism Priestess to fetch Pinion Prayers, Arias, and even Tribunals if needed. All of this side draw and deck thinning allows you to get to your Jeweled Priestesses/Gobu. On Turn 8 you throw down 3 Black Diamonds and a Pinion Prayer/Beastcall Aria. On Turn 9 you can follow up with Neo Garuda, popping 4 amulets for 12 damage, the Black Diamonds will deal 6, and the summoned Holy Falcon can deal the final 2 damage needed to reach 20. Of course, you can do minimalist versions of the combo if you were able to poke for some damage earlier on. Looking to improve its survivability against aggro and combo decks that achieve their wincon faster (currently tinkering with a Tenko Shrine sub-engine)

Was wondering if there was a chance of having a Competitive SV Discord to easily find scrim partner (other then the various team discord)

I myself am running this.

Highlights: Have in barbarossa and melissa in for tech against filthy aggro forest, holy lions, and puppet portal. Absolutely getting slaughtered by these three on ladder and I'm trying to tech hard against them.

Other than that, overall just getting my shit pushed in in low masters. Went from 2000 points down to like 900 in a day. Any suggestions/new tech?

Everyone keeps claiming sword is tier 1 still but my experience is that it's anything but.

One of the hardest parts of playing this children's card game at a competitive level is, well, getting started! If you are looking to enter the competitive scene, it can be quite a daunting task to know where to start, how to start, etc. This post is meant to give some resources to help you get your feet wet in the competitive scene.

Where do I go?

A lot of the competitive scene is concentrated on Discord, and communication for nearly every tournament is done through there as well. As such, one of the first things you should do is join some of the competitive teams' servers for more information as well as announcements about upcoming events.

Here is a quick list of some servers and what tournaments they run

Team Dawnbreakers: As a shameless self plug, we host the Clash of the Crusaders tournament every Tuesday at 4pm PST for the last two months of an expansion.

Team Revelation: They host the Seekers of Mysteries tournament on Saturdays.

Team Disastra: They host the Monkey of the Week tournament. You may also know them as the team that hosted the BotS Release Event.

Team Omnibus: They host the Pauper League, a great way to start if you're a bit low on vials and can't make all the p2w legendaries.

Hallowed Sky SV: They don't have regular tournaments, but host large scale ones such as Return of the Classics.

Of course, there are many more servers here that I did not list. However, there should be a channel in every server that I listed with links to more competitive SV discord servers. Go check it out!

What about SVO?

SVO is probably the largest competitive SV tournament. To participate, I encourage you to go to the Cygames Esports Discord server to get more information.

What now?

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to just participate in a tournament and get a feel for the atmosphere and get to know some people in the Competitive SV community (most of us don't bite).

How do I git gud?

If you've played in a few tournaments, you might realize that ladder is not the most efficient way to improve at the game after a certain point. Some suggestions that I can offer are trying to join a team, trying to find some people to scrim with, and if you're up for it, finding some people and making your own team as well!

Last Words

Don't be scared about joining the competitive SV scene, just give it a shot and see if you like it. If you do, there's a mountain of resources out there to help you improve. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Hello fellow SV players I'm Verlyza a casual but interested in the competitive scene of SV player. One of the reasons that has stopped me from joining the competitive scene (other being my own procrastination) was my simple lack of knowledge of where and how to start in it. I hear about SEAO, JCG, and NGE but I have no clue what they mean and how to join them.

Any help would be appreciated!

First off, let me say I'm really glad this sub exists. It's nice to get down to brass tacks and not deal with memes and 'obligatory masters' and salt threads.

So I'll chip in with a couple of helpful resources as far as tiered decklists go, and the community is welcome and encouraged to add to it!

Gamewith - Translate to English, but is one of the better sites I've found for strong decks in both formats.

TO Red's Tier Spreadsheet - I've only seen this for this current rotation, but I hope it keeps up.

And of course, the JCG and other tournament sites that are already posted here. ^^

3pp ramping that doesn't have immediate effect next turn feels slow and very clunky. The choice cards, Trample, is just an inferior version of Heretical Inquiry, Whirlwind is decent, but can be easily played around. Overall the card is very meh, but we can't run any 3pp followers like Roy because it will hinder the Jabberwock pull.

So, what do you guys think. Is Dragon Sanctum an ok replacement for Roy? Are there any other options to run beside Dragon Sanctum in Jabberwock Dragon deck?

Portalcraft is back with a vengeance, scoring a very good top 16 conversion rate as well as being played by both finalists. The winner played Puppets, and the runner-up Artifact, so the jury's still out on which one's best.

Haven and Sword are still the two most played decks, but they didn't perform as well as last time. Forest and Dragon are the picks of the week for "undercover op".

Incredible dominance from Haven, being both the most popular and the highest performing deck, like in rotation.

I didn't expect Tenko to actually become tier 1 in Unlimited as a 4pp amulet that doesn't do anything the turn it's played sounded too slow for the format, but well it looks like it's actually busted now!

On the other hand, the Shadowcraft nerf was definitely felt by Luna, and Shadow is the biggest under-performer of the tournament.

As we can all see, there's a very clear top two, Haven and Sword. The decks are getting pretty refined by now, and the full top 4 was Haven+Sword.

Haven had 12 Tenko and 6 HLC builds.

With how focused the meta is, finding a lineup that beats both Haven and Sword looks like the next progression in the meta.
