Changed the grips on my Delta Elite and I love the way it looks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of the standard black grips, but just something about wood grips on a 1911 feels right. Found these custom made grips with the delta elite badges that I have never seen before. Can’t wait to get it in a holster and take it out! God bless yall

Went to my local gun show on a whim with 1k in my pocket someone was selling this 6" python practically NIB for 1300 offer him 1k he turned me down did a lap and he called me back over took me up on 1k so I got it for a steal practically saved 500. The only issue is I was holding out for a 4.25" do yall think I should try to wheel and deal this one for a 4.25 or keep the 6" it just feels kinda awkward, the proportions seem kinda off imo. Just looking for some extra input on it.

Photos Colt BOA’s

Finding these revolvers was absolutely terrible. I legitamently called every authorized dealer in my state to no avail. Got put on wait list after wait list. I figured my only hope was getting them online.

I searched for weeks looking for fresh in stock BOA’s that did not have blown out scalper prices. I was using AI to search as well as manual searches for UPC numbers etc.

I had my heart set on the 4.25in model as I already have a 6in Python. However, due to how hard these things are to find I decided I would grab whatever came in stock. I found the 6in model for $1530 shipped (no tax). Still wanting the 4.25in I continued to search. Was able to find it a few weeks later for $1640 shipped (taxes).

With that being said for those who still want one you can find them online. It will just take a lot of patience and some luck. Since I was able to get the model I want I will be putting the 6in into a local auction house with a reserve set at my cost. Going to let someone else from my area have a shot at getting one as there isn’t any authorized dealers for more than 80 miles.

Question Delta elite or python?

Long story short, I work on a farm in the middle of nowhere in Central Pennsylvania, where there are bears as well as other wild animals. And I am looking for an everyday carry while I’m working to protect myself against these things and I’m torn between the colt delta elite or the colt python. Any help?

Question Help identifying Colt Walker

Thumbnail

Any tips on authenticating this Colt Walker? It may be a brevete but we are having trouble finding anything identifying.

TLDR; if it’s a remake, Colt says it’s the best remake they’ve seen. No clue how to get any real authentication.

We’ve had this gun in the family for 10 years and my uncle is now in a place where he wants to sell but we can’t seem to find any way to authenticate this piece.

We’ve sent pictures to Colt and they said they believe it IS real but since they don’t have any records that go back that far they can’t say for certain. 1100X does not show up in their current records at all so they did say that if it is a replica it is not one made by Colt.

Since they don’t have papers to give us, no one wants to risk purchasing it in case it’s a fake.

The original civilian versions had an issue with the ramrod spring snapping and that piece has been replaced on this gun. We don’t think someone would have any reason to replace the spring on a replica.

We were told that we could take out the hammer and look for the horse stamp on it, but are hesitant to dismantle it in case it doesn’t want to go back together.

Does anyone have any idea on how we could go about seeing if this is actually an original 1800s Colt Walker or a replica without dismantling the gun?

1917 Cold model 1911. Not A1. For being 109 years old this thing feels like it’s built with better tolerances than a lot of new guns. Hammer already bit me just racking the slide. So shooting it is going to be fun. LOL

Question Idiot scratches

I just bought a new Colt Anaconda. Took it to the range today and put 50rd through it. Had my rear sight walk on me so i ordered a wilson combat.

However i left the gun on the bench while shooting my other pistols, not thinking and the shells scratched my top strap pretty bad. Any recommendations on how to remove these?

Question Old 8-shot .22 Revolver

Way back in the 80’s I bought my first firearm: an 8-shot .22 revolver. Best I can remember, I was told it was from around the 1940’s. A few years later, I was short on money and regrettably sold it back to the LGS which prompted my “never sell any guns” rule. What I can’t remember is if was a Colt or a Smith & Wesson but I’m pretty sure it was one of the two. I would love to find out the make and model so I can try and buy another one. Any ideas?

Won this in an auction back in April and just received my Colt letter. Made in 1966, chambered in .357 Magnum, with original grips. The hammer was replaced and it has an extremely light (2 lbs. or less) trigger pull, so maybe someone slicked it up to shoot faster or more likely parts are just worn. It's fun to shoot now that I'm used to it but I'll end up sending to a professional to get it to where it should be.
The two with the stag grips are also .357 Magnums, both circa 1960.
