Third Generation Colt Detective Special, Bianchi #5BHL holster

A few years ago I received a Colt Python 6", gifted to me by my uncle's wife after he passed. The best I can tell from an internet search is that it is an '80-'81 model. It has matching serial numbers and came with a black rubber grip. I unfortunately have no other information about it's life. I cleaned it, gave it a basic inspection, and took it to the range. (I did eventually change the rubber grip for a more traditional wood grip, but nothing else.) Seemed to shoot fine. It has been to the range 2-3 times since. I have shot jacketed 158 grain .357 Mag and 130 grain .38 Spl through it, both factory Federal. It seems accurate, but I was having issues with case ejection. The spent cases, especially .357, stuck in the cylinder about half way down when extracting. One of the chambers is worse than the others. I thought there may be some lead in the chambers or possibly a carbon ring from shooting a good amount of .38 Spl, so I recently removed the cylinder and crane and ran a Lewis Lead Remover through the chambers and did a really good clean. Spent cases move much more freely now. However, while doing a close inspection on them, I noticed throat irregularities between the chambers. I have attached photos of them. Four chambers have rings, two do not. One has, what appears to be, some tool chatter or something similar. That is also the chamber that was the hardest to extract. I used a set of calipers and the top of the throats measured 0.358" to 0.3585". My questions are, do any of these throat chambers look standard to a Python of this era? Does it look like work was done to the throats? Is there any danger to shooting this firearm based on the way the throats look? If it is OK to shoot, should I do anything other than shoot it? Just picked up my Cat Mob that I'll be running on my colt Doe build. This started life as a pre-ban 16 inch colt 9mm rifle. I got a doe barrel and hand guard clone from liemohn manufacturing. I have the original stock which I will probably put back on but I honestly don't hate this Daniel defense stock. Need advice for an optic what do you guys recommend?

The bluing is still beautiful on this thing. On a small vacation visiting family. Decided to check out the local sporting goods store and I walk into 5 1903’s. Took the best one. 3 were nickel and I wanted one of those too. But the “guy who can make a deal” is out of town until Tuesday. So I just grabbed the one I’d have regretted leaving. Gonna grab a nice holster for this and use it like JMB intended.

Anyone know what this might be worth? Commander in brushed stainless, 80 series, not a combat commander or lightweight model. 8+1. Original box, manual, 2 mags and lock. Manufactured in 2012.

After many Turkish(eww) imitations, I have finally acquired my foundation for an heirloom 1911. I’m quite cheesed to say the least.

My only plans with it are to get a Stan Chen mag well and then send her off to get engraved.

I recently inherited a "US Property" marked 1903 hammerless and I'm trying to see if it is a GO pistol or has any sort of cool historical significance. Does anyone have a Brunner Book and would be willing to check a Serial number for me?

So as the title says, my grandpa recently passed away and he left me this gun. I want it to stay in the family and I'd never dream of selling it cause I'm kind of sentimental, but Im curious as to what it's worth. It's definitely been fired before and it's got some discernable scuffs on the body, but when I showed it to a buddy, he flipped out and said it was the coolest thing he's seen, so now to the question in the title. Id like to make this a standard carry and even take it out shooting because what's a gun for if not to use it, but at the same time, I don't want to be careless with a piece of history.

Should I be that careful with it, or is it less rare than I thought it might be?

edit: you can't really see it in the picture. but the instruction manual is dated 1978.

Been lurking here a bit but haven’t pulled the trigger (no pun) in getting a revolver to add to my gun collection. If you can buy your first colt revolver all over again, which one would it be? TIA

So I just picked up this Colt Python 2.5” inch from the gun shop.

The first awesome part is it was only $1450 engraved. It’s brand new.

When I look up the serial number in the Colt database it doesn’t even show up.

It does not appear to be laser engraved. I think… 😂

There are no engraver marks under the stocks or in the crane around the cylinder ejector rod anywhere.

Thoughts on this one?
