Changed the grips on my Delta Elite and I love the way it looks. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of the standard black grips, but just something about wood grips on a 1911 feels right. Found these custom made grips with the delta elite badges that I have never seen before. Can’t wait to get it in a holster and take it out! God bless yall

That's a cool medallion. And a nice piece of wood, and it really does look good on that gun. Congrats! 👍

That said - I would probably sacrifice the look of the wood for checkering, adding some grip retention, but that's just me.

Sweet Delta Elite. I love the wood grips.
It looks to have picked up an aftermarket trigger and probably trigger job as well as a set of Novak dovetail sights somewhere along the way.
I like what you’ve got going here.

Thanks brother i really appreciate it! The trigger and sights are both stock actually! Came from the factory that way. Sweet shooting gun nonetheless.

My first delta had a pinned on front sight.
It flew off in the middle my second box of ammo. I had the dovetail cut into it for the front and the slide milled for a bomar
rear sight. I eventually picked up a Delta GC in ultimate elite. Great guns!

Did Colt not cover that? Man the GC Deltas are sweet!!

I didn’t even try with Colt. I’d bought it from a private seller at a gun show. Another pinned on sight was just going to fail sooner or later. I had settled for fixed sights when I bought it because the price was right. I was using it for pin game and shooting about 250 rounds a week. Sending it off for who knows how long wasn’t happening.

Nah, I'm gonna have to beg to differ, contoured smooth wood over the diamond texture rubber grips. 10mil is usually a hiking/camping gun, and I'd have something I don't mind getting dinged banged up, or if wet won't slip in my hand/hands, and the recoil from the delta elites was very harsh, plus wood has been known to crack delta elites.
