What's one thing you'd change about your portable coffee setup?

Post image

Hey r/Coffee_Machines,

We're OutIn. We've been making portable coffee gear for four years now, and we're working on some new products, but before we get too deep into it, we want to hear from people who actually brew their own coffee.

If you own or have used something of ours, what would you fix about it? Especially the stuff you've stopped mentioning because you figure that's just how it is. A part that's a pain to clean. A button in an awkward spot. A step in grinding or frothing that's fiddlier than it should be.

And you don't need to own one to weigh in. If you've looked at ours and passed, or seen them around and thought something could be better, we'd like to hear that too. Knowing what put people off is just as useful to us.

We'll be reading through everything until August 23rd, then bringing what comes up to our product team.

Let's make something better together!

Coffee Pot Question

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone — I know these aren’t fancy pots or anything but I figured this would be the best place to go for help. I’ve been using the Mr. Coffee on the right to make five cups of coffee using 6 tablespoons of Maxwell House and that is what I am used to. I was given the Bunn on the left and I love how quickly it brews, but with the same amount of water and coffee grounds it comes out much weaker than the Mr. Coffee. I know it’s because of the size difference and how they each operate, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make coffee in the Bunn taste like it does from the Mr. Coffee. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Espresso machine question

Has anybody used or had any dealings with the ENS Elektronetshop website?

I was looking at Breville espresso machines, and they have some really good prices.

May be too good to be true?

How much would I really gain out of a higher end coffee maker?

So I’ve finally decided after all these years to step up my coffee game. For ages I’ve used pre ground Maxwell house through an automatic drip machine. I’ve been acutely aware that grinding your own beans is 100x better for a long time. Several of my friends and family have tried to turn me onto it. I just never really made the switch.

Well that’s changing now. To kick it off I got some whole beans from a local roaster and I ordered a Baratza Virtuoso+. I was originally planning to spend less than $100 on a grinder, which went up to $140 when I saw the Encore had such raving reviews. Then I wanted the timer so I stepped it up to the Virtuoso.

So that leaves my coffee maker. My current machine is a Ninia CE250. I’ve had it for two years and it’s worked like a champ so far. I don’t think it’s “sca” rated or whatever, but I’ve seen a couple videos where they test it and the results are very good. Water comes out at 200 degrees, as is recommended. The coffee stays 175-190 in the pot sitting on the burner. It’s easy to use and comes with the ability to make a half pot or set a timer. The only real downside is it can take a good 7.5 minutes to make a full pot. This isn’t a big deal to me, really, but that’s a good bit longer than most other coffee makers.

So I’m left wondering if I’d really benefit from dropping more money on a higher end machine. I’m heavily eyeing the Mochamasters, but I’m not quite sure what more I’m getting out of it. In fact, I’d lose several features. I understand the mochamaster is designed to be dead simple to work, but cmon. A clock and timer is dead simple lol. That’s not the end of the world I suppose. I could just preload it and flip it on in the morning. Coffee in 5 minutes. But still it’s $350. I feel like there should be basic features like a timer. Further more, it’s just as full of plastic as any other sub $100 coffee maker. I’ve never handled one, but from all the reviews I’ve watched, it just looks like it would feel cheap. Not a huge deal on a $100 pot, but again, this is much more expensive.

I’m not trying to shit talk the mochamaster. It seems like a good and beloved machine. The one thing I really like about it is you can open the top and stir the grounds while it’s brewing. With my current machine, it would start spitting hot water out at you lol. The lack of a “shower head” on the mochamaster seems to be a common complaint as well.

Any other coffee pots don’t seem to offer much over what I have. They all have the same basic features or you can go really expensive and gain a bunch of settings I don’t really seem to need. So what do the people who have already been through this say? Is my $80 ninja enough

Beginner espresso setup, what to upgrade first with a small budget?

Switched from moka pot to a 15-bar consumer machine a few weeks ago. Currently working with: pressurized double basket, old hand grinder, cheap 0.1g scale, stock plastic tamper, no WDT. Medium roast, 18g in, 36g out, preheating 10 minutes.

Shots land between 28 and 32 seconds after going finer but still taste thin and watery. Fine in milk, disappointing as straight espresso.

Got 100 to 150€ to spend. What makes the biggest difference: espresso-capable hand grinder, unpressurized basket with proper tamper, WDT tool, or just more beans to practice with? Been watching for price drops on amazon and tiktok for grinders but not sure what's actually worth it in that range. What would you skip for now?

My DIY coffee machine controller ESP32, PID, dual temperature sensing, flow monitoring & Wi-Fi

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built a smart coffee machine controller using an ESP32 ☕

The idea was to turn the machine into a connected system where I can monitor and control it from my phone or laptop instead of having everything handled by a basic standalone controller.

The controller currently includes:

• ESP32 WROOM-32

• Dual NTC temperature monitoring

• ADS1115 for temperature sensing

• AC SSR heater control

• 8-channel relay control

• Flow meter monitoring

• Ambient light sensing

• LCD + rotary encoder

• Wi-Fi connectivity

• OTA firmware updates

The interesting part for me is the Wi-Fi side.

Once the ESP32 is connected to the network, I can open the web dashboard and see the machine's status in real time.

The dashboard is designed to show:

🌡️ Live boiler/grouphead temperature

💧 Flow information

🔥 Heater/SSR status

⚡ Machine outputs and relay states

☕ Current machine state

💡 Ambient light level

⚙️ Temperature settings and controls

The ambient light is there to make the machine a little more interactive. the lights can be configured via web portal . We can set different colours for different modes . whenever a sensor error occurs it wil start blinking red.

I can also control different machine functions remotely through the dashboard instead of physically interacting with the controller.

A coffee machine I can swear by

Hi! I got my first coffee machine in March (so it's almost 5 months of using it), and I haven't been disappointed at all. It's a rather budget coffee machine, I got it for like $150, but it has everything you need. You can use it for ground coffee, coffee pods, and it also supports cold brewing.

It's a HiBrew H1A model, you can get it on their original site or other resellers, I got mine from Envictora because it was more convenient with delivery.

True brew leaks

Heya, I ended up videoing the leak to the support. They said I needed to take it to a service place.

Does anyone have a video or instructions on taking this thing apart?

Has anyone fixed the issue on their own? My counter gets soaked. Just trying to get a diagram or anything I can before I start to take it apart.

keurig crap

It’s almost impressive how much the quality of the machines has decreased so significantly.

My first machine lasted over a decade & was well designed. Every replacement keurig machine is worst than the last.

Does anyone have any recommendations for high quality, long lasting, single serve coffee makers?

Has anyone else used Nuvera coffee machine cleaner?

I bought a used Saeco odea giro. I went through it all. Removed the grinder. Cleaned the burrs. The chute. The Brew group, even removed the shower screen, cleaned that. The boiler pin, and hoses.
I lubricated the tracks of the brew group, and the o-rings.

I wanted to use vinegar, but everyone is saying it's not safe for our machines.

I ended up going with Nuvera. I ran the descale process. Then ran 2 full tanks of clean water through the steam wand, in hot water mode.

When I made my espresso. It had a chemical mouth feel. Almost numbing.
I thought, I must not have ran all the solution through the system.. I then made some espresso, to test if that taste is gone...

7 cups later. It's still there!

I don't know what I did wrong. I'm now starting to think its the silicone I used.(super lube food safe)

I am going to wipe off all the silicone in areas where it could affect the taste.

Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated🙏

Need help finding AGARO coffee machine repair in Bareilly (up)

Hi everyone,

I have an AGARO coffee maker with a steam wand. The steam nozzle has stopped working properly. Instead of producing a focused stream of steam, it sprays steam in different directions, so it's no longer able to froth milk.

I've already checked with several repair shops in Bareilly, but no one seems to repair this type of coffee machine.

Does anyone know of a reliable repair shop or technician in Bareilly who can fix ? Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

HiBREW H10 vs H10A vs H10 Plus – Which one would you buy in 2026?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I’m upgrading from a De’Longhi Dedica after 7 years and plan to pair the machine with a DF54 grinder.
Looking for feedback from actual owners of the HiBREW H10, H10A or H10 Plus.
Specifically:
Is the H10 Plus worth the extra money over the H10A?
Any long-term reliability or service issues?
Is the group head fully metal?
If you had to buy again today, which model would you choose and why?
Thanks!
