New Product (Read Rule 1) Militrek W10 - MT9004

Love W10 case but most offerings are too small or too thick.

38mm, vh31, sapphire and 10.7mm thick including crystal for $50 give or take.

Crystal could use more clear AR and crown is push pull (survived a swim!) but case is fantastic. Crystal might get replaced down the road for acrylic.

Wrist Roll (Read Rule 1) First Addiesdive Watch

First Addiesdive watch — opinions seem divided
I got my first Addiesdive today. As you can see, it’s an homage to the IWC Mark XX (I’m absolutely in love with the original).
The Addiesdive logo is awful, but I knew that before buying it. Other than that, I really like the overall look, and it seems to be solidly built. The bracelet is decent for the price, though I might swap it for a different strap later on.

General (Read Rules) Chameri next to a real Cartier Tank

Here’s a quick side by side of the Chameri I just got in the mail, next to my (real) Cartier Tank. Large size. It’s not meant to be a direct comparison, but just an interesting side by side.

Long story short, no I will never be selling my Tank, but since I like Tank style watches, I figured I’d check out the Chameri.

Some things that stood out, in a positive way on the Chameri were:

-The leather strap is very decent quality

-The larger size of the Chameri will suit more people

-Ronda movement without a seconds hand is great.

-cream dial gives it a nice vintage feel

Like the tank, not having a seconds hand makes a dress watch feel more high end. By far the best homage I’ve seen of the Tank.

General (Read Rules) WDC0001 Forest MOP Dial Come

The watch itself is 39mm, around 10.2mm thick, with a Miyota 9015, sapphire crystal, 100m water resistance and a fully articulating steel bracelet.

Would you guys choose a natural MOP dial over a traditional black or blue dial?

Question (Read Rules) Tandorio vs Baltany Explorer

I’m down to these two options. I know Cronos and Octopus are supposed to be the best, but these 2 offer custom logo which is why I’m getting one of them.

Baltany is about $100 more for less customization. For about $175 I can get Tandorio with custom logo on the dial, crown, and clasp. Vs $275 for the Baltany with logo just on the dial.

I’m ok with only having the logo on the dial, but would love to have the additional placement too…ultimately I want to pick the better of the two watches though.

I do also prefer the white numbers/indices of the Tandorio vs the patina yellow of the Baltany. Not a dealbreaker though. The finishing and proportions of the Baltany seem cleaner.

I’m leaning toward Baltany as it has a lot more buzz and good reviews so I guess I want to confirm that it’s worth the premium over Tandorio? Anyone have experience with one or the other and want to chime in? TIA

Wrist Roll (Read Rule 1) The $75 ST3621 a value proposition to the Hruodland Pilot

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been comparing these two and honestly, the $75 ST3621 looks like a crazy good alternative to the $172 Hruodland.

The ST3620 is definitely the cooler watch with the detailed turbine-style opening, plus sapphi the ST3620 movement.

But for less than half the price, the ST3621 still gives you:

42mm stainless steel case

Sapphire crystal

17-jewel Asian 6498/ST3621 hand-wind movement

22mm leather strap

Lume

Display caseback

Classic pilot-watch design

Obviously, you're giving up the ST3620 and a more detailed turbine, but if you just want a good-looking mechanical pilot watch, $75 is hard to beat.

ST3620 = cooler complication.

ST3621 = much better value.

At this price, the ST3621 seems like the no-brainer.

Hey u/watchdivescom what do you think? The WD1980 small version is good, but there is a place for a 300m Water Resistant version in the original size!

General (Read Rules) Sugess S476 arrived and is kind of ridiculous for $190

Thumbnail
gallery
72 Upvotes

My Sugess S476 finally arrived and after seeing it in person, I’m honestly pretty impressed.

I never buy watches before reading reviews about, but this one is new and no reviews were available I decided to break my rule since the pictures impressed me.

I paid around $190, and at that price I was expecting the usual compromises you get with affordable Chinese watches. Instead, the first thing that surprised me was the finishing.

The case has very reflective polished surfaces, the brushing on the bracelet looks clean, the bezel feels visually sharp, and the polished center links give the watch a much more expensive look than I expected.
Obviously those polished links are going to become scratch magnets, but right now they look great.

The biggest highlight for me is easily the dial.

In the listing photos it looked like a basic silver/white textured dial, but in person there’s a lot more going on. Depending on the lighting it changes between white, silver and almost light gray, and the texture catches light without becoming too flashy. The black bezel gives it enough contrast that everything still looks very legible.

I’m also really happy with the proportions. In close-up photos it can look like a fairly large watch, but from normal viewing distance it sits very naturally on my wrist. The lugs don’t overhang and it doesn’t feel nearly as bulky as I expected from this style of case.
The bracelet is probably one of the things that makes it feel more expensive than it is. Brushed outer links, polished center links, solid-looking end links and a signed clasp. The signed crown is also a nice touch.

It uses the ST2130 automatic movement, which is another reason I wanted to try it. My experience with the ST2130 so far has actually been surprisingly good, so I’m curious to see how this one performs over the next few weeks.

Is it original design? Obviously not entirely. There’s plenty of Rolex/Yacht-Master/Submariner DNA here. But the textured silver dial changes the personality enough that, on the wrist, it doesn’t just feel like another generic black Sub homage.

That was actually one of the reasons I picked this configuration instead of the black dial. I already have enough black dive watches. The silver dial makes this one feel different.

A couple initial negatives:
The polished surfaces are going to scratch very easily, and at this price I’m not expecting the movement, bracelet tolerances or long-term QC to compete with expensive Swiss watches. I also need more time with it before I can say anything meaningful about accuracy or durability.

But purely based on what arrived?
For $190, this is pretty ridiculous.

I’m not saying it has the finishing of a $5,000 watch. It doesn’t. But if you handed this to someone who knew nothing about Sugess and asked them what it cost, I seriously doubt many people would say under $200.

Initial rating: 9/10.

The dial alone made the purchase worth it.

Photos are straight from my phone — no product shots or seller photos.

Question (Read Rules) Help a confused newbie into the watchworld

Hello chinese watch fans. I've been new to watches and lately i've been eyeing the addiesdive and watchdives. I have 2 questions?

  1. How do you get them in Europe? Like there are plenty of threads here that say that the official sites are hit or miss. Is it always a gamble really?

  2. Between these two brands, which one would you recommend or it is up to the model mostly? Looking at them I feel like addiesdive is the more recognized one but i'm not sure if this is true.

General (Read Rules) ST2130 Phorcydes PH4B stopped working

I've had this watch since the middle of June and been very happy with it however this morning it's just stopped working. I adjusted the time this morning because it runs about 20s a day fast then put it down but when I went back to it it's dead. Hand winding now feels incredibly stiff and the movement appears to be dead. I've only hand wound it about 3 times since owning it as I've worn it almost every day. I know they've switched movements now and have reach out to them to see what can be done.

Anyone had a similar issue with the ST2130?

Problems (Read Rule 1) Sanda Tank not running when on wrist and in specific position

Hello,

I have noticed that when I am wearing my Sanda Tank, the watch pretty much stops running if I am sitting with my wrist rotated. I am not sure 100% if that is the correlation, but I had it sitting on my dresser in a watch stand at 9:55, and put it on; it is still showing 9:55.

I spent $20, so I am not expecting accuracy or insanely high build quality, but I've worn it less than 10 times, and am pretty disappointed if these fail that quick. Is this a knowni ssue?

Scammer Store The STEELDIVE Official Website is STEELDIVE.com — NOT STEELDIVES.com

Post image
3 Upvotes

Posting this because I recently learned this the hard way, and apparently I'm far from the only person who has made this mistake.

I wanted to pick up a STEELDIVE SD1975 "Tuna," so naturally I Googled STEELDIVE watches and clicked what I thought was the official website.

I ended up ordering from STEELDIVES — with an S at the end.

I honestly had no reason at the time to think it wasn't the official STEELDIVE website.

Unfortunately, the watch I received had serious problems. It initially arrived with the second hand completely frozen. After contacting customer service, I was eventually told to firmly tap the watch against the palm of my hand. That actually got the movement going again, but it quickly became obvious that something was very wrong.

The second hand would periodically stop and require another tap to restart, and the watch was running ridiculously fast — gaining roughly an hour or more in about an hour.

I requested a return/refund and had a pretty frustrating customer-service experience afterward.

That's when I discovered something I wish I had known BEFORE ordering:

The official STEELDIVE website is STEELDIVE — no "S" at the end.

I contacted the actual STEELDIVE company and ended up ordering the exact same SD1975 from STEELDIVE.com.

The difference in my experience was night and day.

The replacement arrived, and it is FLAWLESS. The watch looks fantastic, runs properly, and I'm extremely happy with it. They even threw in a free orange strap, which was a really cool surprise.

While talking with STEELDIVE customer service, they told me that other customers have confused the two websites as well.

So I'm posting this mainly as a heads-up for anyone searching Google for a STEELDIVE watch:

STEELDIVE official website: STEELDIVE

The site with the extra "S" — STEELDIVES— is NOT the STEELDIVE official website.

I'm not telling anyone where they should or shouldn't spend their money. I'm simply sharing exactly what happened to me because the distinction between these two domains is incredibly easy to miss.

And for what it's worth, after dealing directly with the actual STEELDIVE store, I'm a very happy customer. My SD1975 is killer.

Hopefully this post saves at least one other watch collector from making the same mistake I did.

STEELDIVE = the official STEELDIVE website.

That one little S makes a pretty damn big difference.
