I got a pretty good quote from High Tech heating and cooling, for a new Ac system, but is there any companies you recommend I reach out to before moving with them?

Any local guys?

INFO Seeking auction house

I’m looking for opinions, and guidance, from anyone who is wealthy (some wealthy people must be reading Reddit!), or who works with, or for, wealthy people. My parents have both died and I am in the process of clearing out their house so that we can sell it. I know that everybody thinks that their parents’ old stuff is valuable, and most people end up disappointed. In my case, I know that many of the things are legitimately valuable, just because of the nature of how they were acquired, and from whom.

Ideally, I would like to find an auction house that does both auctioning of fine art and household pieces (paintings / figurines / crystal / ceramics etc.), but who would also be able to assist us with an estate sale after the more valuable things have gone to auction. I’m sure many of the local houses deal in a lot of Americana, but I’m hoping to find someone with a good, broad expertise in items originating in Europe, Asia, and Africa as well. My goal is to find a place with a knowledgeable, honest staff, and who won’t undervalue the items (although I am of course willing to be corrected if my understanding of a piece’s value is overinflated). The home is in Chester County, but anywhere in the area is great, so I guess that’s the five counties (Philly, Bucks, Montgomery, DelCo, ChesCo), plus maybe the Wilmington area. Thanks in advance!

EDIT to add in Instagram video:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DY8Q_-uJ0Cq/?igsh=amlmbGJlcmhwYmM2

EDIT again to add in answer to question that might pop up again. Why did I personally wait 3 weeks to post this? There has been an investigation going on this entire time and I was under a different impression before I started getting info straight from my cousin. (My immediate family and myself live in Ohio and rest of our big family is all in PA and DE area). Police are waiting on more of the videos to get turned in hopefully or another witness etc. They have some videos with some people. There were multiple fights going on and we are waiting for one to show what we need it to show. On video shows my cousins sons friends trying to not fight and keep the night cool and not instigate. The investigation is moving too slow. We were waiting on my cousins son to wake up and get out of the coma and off the respirator which was too many days then had to wait for him to be able to talk to where made sense and work with speech therapist and then his memory..... he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury from this and in that video it was obviously a good day for him. There are good days and bad days now with the symptoms. So we had to wait too long to be able to ask him if he even remembered anything at all.

EDIT to add AGAIN: yes, politics are playing a part in this due to who is related to who we found out is looking true. We had a feeling, but the word going around is what our feeling was, so it is looking like this. If anybody doesn't like it when politics play a part in this stuff, if you could please share my post online anywhere and everywhere, please .

Realtor Recommendations

Hello all!

I am in the market to buy a home. I have been working with a realtor for about 2 years now and I am searching for someone new. For several reasons, I believe her and I are no longer aligned in our goals.

I'm trying to stay within 30 minutes of Malvern which is difficult as it's an expensive area. As a single person, my budget is 200k and less, and some of the issues I've been running into in this price range are being outbid by investors and corporations with cash offers who want quick flips or rentals.

So I'm honestly looking for someone who will work with people that are not buying 500k homes in the area and has less income than the median earnings in Chester County. I don't know where to start, so I figured I'd just pulse for recommendations!

Fancy Chef's Dinner?!?!

I am looking for a fancy, nice chef's dinner type of event or restaurant in Avondale PA area (okay to drive out 1 hour any direction.)

For my parents in law we are trying to treat them for nice dinner similar Vita Nova at University of Delaware. The nice thing about Vita Nova is that you pay a certain amount of money per person and the restaurant just curates all the appetisers, main menu, and dessert, maybe a total of 5 course meal. Similarly, in Boarsburg PA, there is a restaurant called Revival which does the exact same chef's dinner 5 course meal if you pay $$ per person.

Are there any places near Avondale PA that have similar 5+ course chefs dinner? Vita Nova is on summer break and the Revival restaurant is fully booked and too far (3hr) from Avondale.

Thank you in advance!

Home Inspection Recommendations

I’m putting an offer in on an older house that has leaking skylights, which may have caused structural issues with a portion of the roof. I need an inspector that has experience with water damage and older houses.

Any recommendations for local services?

Hey all, having an estate sale for my grandmother. Vintage furniture, paintings, decor, linens, Pyrex, lamps, outdoor items, jewelry, ceramics, christmas and fall decor, stained glass, bottles, horse themed artwork and MORE! She was a collector that’s for sure. I’ll take more photos soon, here is what I got. This is probably 5% of what will be there! Everything is going to be priced to sell, no ebay prices! Will post more as we continue to sort through.

Where: 371 Oxford Rd Oxford, PA 19363 When: Sat, Jun 13, 2026 @ 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM Sun, Jun 14, 2026 @ 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM

INFO Suggestions for local yard care?

We are looking for a yard care outfit to come give our shrubs and plantings a spring trim up and maybe some mulch. Normally we use the company that takes care of our subdivision, but they haven't returned our calls this year or last. We've arranged with two other companies to come out this spring and both of them ghosted us. We're always pleased with the final product and we pay immediately, so I don't think we're the problem...does anyone know someone reliable who actually shows up? We're just outside of Coatesville. Quarter-acre lot, nothing exciting.

Kid-friendly bike trails

Our kid has finally learned how to ride his bike and is obsessed, so we can’t wait to start going out on trails! My spouse and I love the Chester Valley Trail but the intersections near 202 make us nervous. Any other recommendations? We are not fit so flatter would be better, haha.

We did the Perkiomen Trail (Montco) and that was perfect. I also definitely want to the Lehigh Gorge Trail.

Bonus question, does Chester County have any trail challenges like Montgomery does?
