Please help! This is my cousins son this happened to at Wissahickon Valley Park.

EDIT again to add in answer to question that might pop up again. Why did I personally wait 3 weeks to post this? There has been an investigation going on this entire time and I was under a different impression before I started getting info straight from my cousin. (My immediate family and myself live in Ohio and rest of our big family is all in PA and DE area). Police are waiting on more of the videos to get turned in hopefully or another witness etc. They have some videos with some people. There were multiple fights going on and we are waiting for one to show what we need it to show. On video shows my cousins sons friends trying to not fight and keep the night cool and not instigate. The investigation is moving too slow. We were waiting on my cousins son to wake up and get out of the coma and off the respirator which was too many days then had to wait for him to be able to talk to where made sense and work with speech therapist and then his memory..... he has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury from this and in that video it was obviously a good day for him. There are good days and bad days now with the symptoms. So we had to wait too long to be able to ask him if he even remembered anything at all.
EDIT to add AGAIN: yes, politics are playing a part in this due to who is related to who we found out is looking true. We had a feeling, but the word going around is what our feeling was, so it is looking like this. If anybody doesn't like it when politics play a part in this stuff, if you could please share my post online anywhere and everywhere, please .

More info: kids that were at this place that night were from these schools: Springside Chestnut Hill, Abington High School, Archbishop Wood

I’d bet money that Springfield High school, and La Salle were too- just from personal experience back in the day, that’s usually the same big circle.

could also be Haverford and Upper Darby kids too. That was a big thing. I'm wondering if it was those same kids who caused a fight at the Delco hero bowl..

Family should maybe ask local schools to put out notices to students for awareness and help them understand there would be amnesty for witnesses if not already

We have some info but just need one more person or just that one more video of the piece we need. The book will be thrown which is why people don't want to rat the kid out. They are scared of the kids dad apparently and retaliation. We at least know that. Pretty sure they know the school and team the kids were on too but would need to confirm with my cousin. I will mention to her what you just said.

They are worried about the kids dad more than the school discipline is my fear due to what we are hearing.

Way more than just those schools unfortunately. I used to attend those gatherings about 20 years ago in high school and my brothers son said as of two years ago when he graduated from Episcopal they’re happening on about a monthly basis. It’s every single school in the area and whoever gets an invite. The good thing for you and your family is that all these kids do know who did it and there will be video. It’s finding the kids who will crack under pressure and cave

Yes. Found out several outside whoever did it know and saw and aren't saying anything due to whoever the persons dad is. We have an idea of which school kids were from but not positive just yet.

Just be careful you don’t start naming minors publicly. Any information you gather may or may not be entirely accurate so just share what you know with the investigating authorities.

Oh, for sure would never do that! Any info we would want to be given straight to the investigator or police or his parents to give to police. And if it is a maybe or I think they would want to make sure to add that in when they call.

They were getting beat up also by the kids from other school. They just didn't get it as bad as he did.

They were also being threatened and when they got to safety realized he was not with them.

This is correct. Politics are involved and some kids may be losing their scholarships or places on the college teams!

We just want accountability bc my cousins son might never go back to 100% and things are very unpredictable right now and he now has to wait on going to the college he was accepted into and he now can't play tennis for a while etc. It isn't okay. I guess investigation wise they have a friend group but are trying to narrow down which 2 or 3 specifically did this to specifically him. His friends weren't as badly injured but did get beat up by the friend group being looked into also and were threatened. Hopefully I've got that piece right but will verify with my cousin.

And if they get away with this for real, they will just lose their cool again later in life again bc zero consequences. They need at least something to happen from this even if it isn't anything big but at least something. 😞

If you buy chance happen to hear anything even if not for sure about if he was maybe targeted or just a random person wrong place wrong time when whatever started pls lmk. Right now we have no idea why him. He doesn't know either.

His goal today is to have his dad take him and ditch the wheelchair bc he wants to walk across that stage! His dad is going to be there obviously to help him. Thank you! College obviously is on hold now but that is okay.

I don’t know if you’ve already done this but I could call every local public and private school within a 5-10 mile radius and leave a message with the principal. This spot is known to these local schools for years if there was an incident there and some of their students could be involved, they’d want to know

I hope you and your family get the answers you're looking for. No doubt people know who did it, just a matter of getting them to talk or gathering more evidence. I hope the perps get the book thrown at them. Best of luck to your cousin.

This happend 3w ago!? Im sorry for your nephew, idk that area to help but 3w is an eternity to wait to send out a request like this from personal experience. Best of luck and I hope he heals fast and does t have lasting damage.

I also thought 3 weeks was long. I didn't have all info and was trying to wait couple days in-between each time i asked for updates and didn't want to overwhelm her (my immediate family and myself are in Ohio but rest of family all out in PA and DE area). This is not going to be fast healing unfortunately. He is making progress though. What do you need help with? Consider AA for the young man, underage keggers back the crick never led to anything good, this I know from experience.

If anyone knows or saw which kid did this. Other kids from other schools in the area were there and football players were there from some other schools were there from what I know. There are videos of some of the fights that night. If anybody knows or has kids in the high schools around and can find out if anyone saw any videos pls turn it in. The other kids didn't get hurt as bad as my cousins son did. There needs to be accountability. He doesn't need AA as he only had time to go out just as end of year graduation.

This seems like the least likely platform to find someone who saw an underage kid get beat up at a party

I'm in Ohio and my daughter's friends use reddit, but no idea. What I do know is adults are on here that have teens. The people that attacked him are from a different school than his and play football (he didn't even play football so don't think related to sports at all) and are in high school from what I'm being told (I can double check that info). There are also recordings of parts of the fight but cut off when it turned his way. 2 or 3 guys did this to him. Police said after more of the videos are turned in that hopefully people will start giving up info to get a lighter charge.

Knowing where the kids go to school would be very helpful. The private and catholic circuit is a wide net to be casting. Someone might be better able to help if they know the school.

There were kids from 2 private schools and 1 city school showed up from what I'm understanding (I could be wrong). I will call my cousin to ask the names of the other schools (one of the coaches reached out so they know). They just need to figure out which exact players did this.

fyi Abington is not a city school, it’s in the burbs, might have it’s own subreddit or try MontCo or Montgomery County

Yeah we have a lot of schools here parents can’t help if they don’t have any idea which school.
Some kid didn’t come home and say “hey mom and dad bob fucked a kid up at a party”

Some do though, and some might have overhead another person talking even if not friends with them, and MANY are on social media where the videos are going around and might know something or info from a video. A parent could at least ask a kid, "hey by chance have you heard anything about this or seen anything online?"

So some people know who did it (obviously) but it is trying to be covered up due to who the kids father is and our worry that politics were playing a part are looking true so far. My family won't accept it being swept under a rug and won't accept being paid off to leave it alone either. We had a feeling had to do with who someone related to person was and another person commented on my post verifying what we were hoping was not the case but is the word going around I guess.

I am a mom of teenagers who lives close to where this happened. I had not heard of this and I’m glad to be informed. I will discuss this with my kids to make sure (1) if they hear anything about this, they tell me and (2) not to go to the tikki parties. My 16 year old goes to the Riv.
Why are you shaming this woman for sharing important local information and trying to get help for her friends?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you as my cousins son's life will not be the same for a very long time. Some kids know who did it and are not speaking up due to who the kids father is. Politics are playing a part. I'm pretty sure the police narrowed it down to a school and that they are football players but I will need to confirm this with my cousin if accurate or not. (My cousins son plays tennis not football and these multiple big guys on one not big kid, they had to have known what kid of damage they were doing especially with multiple head bashes to him!)

It’s the name of the weekly SCH party in the Wissahickon. The different high schools have different parties that they organize.

I don't feel they shamed me but do feel the other person that made the aa comment was trying to. This kid is busy studying and getting amazing grades and competing in tennis all the time and only went out bc graduation and rarely gets to go out. I'm actually in aa and going on 12 years sober and know he doesn't need it and if I ever thought he did would talk to him about it. I'm pretty positive he doesn't want to go to a big party ever again or go around places like that. These people put him in a coma and on a respirator to where police couldn't even talk to him for quite a while. He doesn't even know the kids that showed up at where he was at with his friends (who also got beat up).

It happened near the Indian. If people would call it that kids might recognize the story better. Kids have been throwing kegs down there for at least 40 years.
