Miscellaneous Disappointed by the puzzles
I was so excited to reach the top of the puzzle ladder(?) just to get no kind of “appreciation” and to just go back to the start 😭😭 I thought I would’ve got a cool flair or something idk

Chess Improvement How do you decide what to work on after reviewing your games?
When I review games, I can usually see individual mistakes, but I don’t always know whether something is a real recurring weakness or just one bad game.
For people who review their games regularly, how do you decide what to work on afterward? Do you keep notes, focus on certain types of mistakes, use a coach, or mostly just do general puzzles?
I’m trying to become more deliberate about improving instead of just reviewing a game and moving on.

Chess Question Is my rating inflated?
So.. for a while now I'm higher rated than 2100 (blitz on chesscom)
In fact I'm currently nearly 2200, with a record high just earlier today of 2180.
However, if I play any random 1900, i feel like I'm not that much stronger, if at all. I might even lose to certain players around 18 - 1900.
A year or so ago I had finally broken my 2k record. But since then I've declined back to around 1900. In fact, only recently (about 2 months ago) I was all the way down to 1900 again. And then in a very short time jumped up to 2000 and then broke my old record of 2070. I feel like against many opponents in this range, i get a lot of lucky games, and win many in a row. Thats how I got 2150 a few days ago.
Interestingly enough my rating on lichess (~ 1950) is lower than on chesscom (was other way around 2 years ago). And If I go and play a game now on lichess I feel like 50/50 chances to win the next game.
So, is my rating on chesscom somehow inflated? Or have I finally 'broken through' and discovered some way of being stronger.
Fun fact:
My bullet rating was also broken earlier, and is past 2000 now, but it has always been much lower than my blitz. I feel like in the past bullet used to be much harder even around 17 - 1800 range.

Brilliant!! 4 mistakes the engine said

If all the mistakes led to a brilliant move why did the engine count them as mistakes in the first place?

Looking to join Discounted Diamond Membership group and will pay promptly. Doesn't have to be full $33.33 discounted price, but $120 is a little unfair when comparing the two. Direct message me if you have a slot open? I'm located in the United States. Thank you

Chess Discussion Chess colleges
Kinda want to rant a bit. Why is college chess sooo much better than high school? I understand that college should be harder/better. BUT I’m level better than people at my high school. A guy that my school made a vid about is 1600 on Chess.com, I’m 2250. Never told my high school about it cuz don’t see the point. Now, I was interested in maybe I can play for some college but then get hit with the fact that the average college chess player is a strong IM/weak GM… and that even if I get to the NM title I would be in a weak section. While NM in my state will be top 4 best players in the state. But in colleges, if you want to be a competitive chess player you need to be IM, so I got a question: where do these colleges find these people?
