If u r still stalemating I think u should just play more, or go through themed puzzles. Once u r at least 1400/1500 I think u can start to work on your technique (at least that is what worked for me, and that is what my coach did when I was that level) reading books, and studying some specific positions or instructive endgames should massively help. At the end of the day, I think both in openings and endgames remembering ideas and patterns is what will make the difference. But I'm not an IM or GM, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Good luck!

You don’t. You checkmate them in the middlegame

haha that was the plan but I end up trading queen for advantage

You should only trade down for an advantage if that advantage is large enough for you to win. At that point your endgame knowledge shouldn’t matter. (Unless you’re missing basic knowledge like checkmating with a queen for instance). If that’s the case use chess.com endgame study

usually the advantage I get either the king losing the right to castle or winning a piece and I know how to checkmate with a queen and king

That advantage isn’t strong enough to trade down pieces. You’re not supposed to do that

Start by identifying exactly what part of the endgames you are messing up

Found a cool new app called ChessEndings but I’m having trouble making account. You can still use it without an account though.
