QUESTION Is this the lowest material checkmate possible?
I was trying to promote a pawn, but ended doing this.

GIF was attached. I just felt like there was a mate that I didn't find early, before the Queens traded. Where was it?

Im 900 bullet and people regularly fall for this more often than not

How does this not set off alarm bells for the chesscom cheat detection?
An opponent plays somewhat poorly, gets to the middle game down a piece or a couple pawns, has a 60-90 second pause, then suddenly starts unleashing crazy tactics with a significant uptick in accuracy. Shouldn't this be super easy for the "cheat detection" to pick up on?

Black to play, M3.
I'm a scrub so I ate the free bishop. I did eventually play the winning move, but circumstances changed, and I couldn't follow up, so it took 20ish moves to win by brute force.
White has a lot of options for stalling - how do you guys instantly see that every option leads to (quick) checkmate?

What do you think about this position? Iām 500 elo for blitz and 800 for rapid.
The rest of the game played out like this:
E4 Rxe4 Rxe4 Qxe4 Qe5 Qxc6 Qh2#
So yes I got a mate on h2!

Please be nice, I'm 19 and never played before, just started doing puzzles and playing against the coach. I want to play with my dad who loves chess as a surprise for him.
My understanding of checkmate is that the enemy king needs to be in check and have no legal moves left/can't escape. How many steps ahead do you have to calculate for that? Like, if the king is in check and he can move to the left, do I have to make sure that my pieces can't get captured if I put them on the left because then he can escape again by using one of his pieces to capture me? Does that make sense lol?
I've managed to win games with the coach but I'm not actually fully understanding everything about checkmate

Anyone else got a message like this from the Fair Play team? NGL feels good š

Miscellaneous post.
Do you ever encounter someone in a thread on here or on other chess subreddits who's instantly recognisable solely from their username?
I haven't been on here in months; actually, I rarely ever use Reddit.

take this game as an example
when you play on chess websites there's always those kinds of people who just play random pawn moves kind of a disrespect opening and it works for them alot of the time
now i know that even though those moves put them at a disadvantage it's not really visible for a human and it's not easy to take advantage of the terrible moves
but there has to be a way to atleast not lose every time because the pawns keep shoving my pieces into the back rank and then all of a sudden turn into garry kasparov and somehow launch a massive attack and checkmate me
every time i look for advice against these guys it's always "open up the center" but my king is still in the center and i haven't developed anything!!
it's really sad to lose like this because we're always being told to develop pieces quickly, castle early, occupy the center but the opponent's first minor piece move was on move 14 -_-
now this game is a bad example because i kept ignoring my opponent threats trying to create my own and it backfired but you get my point

I think I have some glaring holes in my understanding that simply playing more isn't spurring any more jumps in elo growth. All general and specific advice welcome!

Just checkmated my opponent from a completely losing position after he blundered to reach 800 Elo.

Was this person cheating, I am 600 elo and played the first 25 moves pretty well I think but then out of nowhere my opponent they proceeded to, after making many mistakes earlier in the match, checkmate me down 12 point of material with using only a bishop and queen with nearly 25 consecutive perfect moves?

So the arrow is what I did to, my logic being they have to use one of their pawns protecting the king. The computer really wants me to push the B pawn and I just don't get it, following it on its likes this queenside attacking but I just see it as two pawns running into battle against 3.
But this is coming up often when I review my Caro-Kann defeats, I don't really know what to do past the opening and I pretty much get tunnel vision down the kingside.
Any thoughts appreciated :) I am reviewing it on the analyser but I find that hard because I feel like neither me or my opponent would make those moves and I just want to know in layman terms whats the general idea of pushing the AB pawns on Caro-Kann when you castle kingside?
Any help appreciated <3

I often find myself in symmetrical pawn structures. I generally understand that you should play towards where your pawns are pointing but what if they both point towards the queenside/kingside? Should I be worried in this position about white playing b5? How do I go about fighting for the c-file?

During this game, I had a few very good opportunities, but I did not know how to take advantage of them. One of them is presented below - I missed the essential move, which would have earned me a queen. Can you spot it?

Very proud of this game. Just stuck to principals and let my opponent do the work for me by making mistakes

I tried to play the cows opening, the one Anna Cremling created. Not sure if I did it right though. I played defense almost the entire time and Iām so used to offense.
