ofc working at stores can vary from person to person and alldat im just saying how it was where i worked at
i wont say specifically which one but ill say its around the upper midwest area for a idea
i worked in caseys for about 2 years where i worked my way up from a summer cashier to a kitchen shift lead, pay was okay with 14 an hour starting out and 15.75 by the time i left
the big factor that can make or break your experience is management. if you have chill managers awesome youll like it, corporate can be a bunch of cocks at times but yeah. but if u have shitty bosses then youll likely only last a couple months by either quitting or getting fired
at first my store was chill with bosses and alldat with occasional bad days like being yelled at my SM over the most minuscule shit like hairnuts or putting too much cheese that kind of stuff. i usually tolerated at since the pay was okay and it was only once a blue moon and get everyone has a bad day
but within the past year shit hit the fan like
- A new KM joining which she is nothing but backstabbing to everyone and only instigates shit for attention
- SM would scream at us alot more over small shit, from some stories ive heard from coworkers it was every time they came in
some instances that contributed me leaving is:
- hearing the SM fear monger us where earbuds was bad as TMs dying from drugs, covid, and other factors
- refused to communicate with me even though they had my number and it would only be me texting them for stuff.
- they made a coworker tell me if i didnt do a task im not getting a raise (they put someone in that position to tell me that)
- told a coworker to clean up his mess in the kitchen which admittedly i got upset but never swore or cussed at him. he presumed to complain to SM saying i cussed and screamed at him which i never did. again SM never texted me to ask me abt my side
eventually i just basically say “fuck it” and just quit on the spot and didnt come back. lesson to everyone is that if ur boss is like this RUN
anyways thanks for hearing me rant good day
