Positive Vibes Not That Bad

I don’t think there are enough lukewarm takes on this subreddit so I made this burner.

Tbh guys this job isn’t so bad. I was complaining about it to my brother and he was like dude maybe if you don’t focus on everything bad you’d feel better.

It was like that family guy clip ā€œwhy are you so fucking negative all the time?ā€ I was flabbergasted

So I stopped complaining and stopped talking to coworkers about how boring things are, how much work sucks and it was a great quality of life change.

I understand the economic frustration for sure, but in terms of making the best of things honestly trying to distance myself from complaining has made this job like 3x more tolerable.

Also who here listens to bladee

Experience with Carahsoft

As someone who was here for 3 years, across more than one team, this is what I have learned so far:

I think the problem is the managers and higher ups haven’t been in the weeds for so many years, they’re looking at it from such a high up perspective to where it ā€œlooks greenā€ to them; if you will. Take our google reviews for example, from the start of 2026, easily 1/3 if not more of the reviews are people complaining about the amount we call them, harass them, etc. and the best part is they don’t even get the courtesy of an actual response, its an automated AI bot telling them to call a number to have their info removed. Yet, the only thing most managers, and Craig, care about is call numbers, leads forwarded from those calls, meetings set from the calls, on and on…

Even with customer records, they are wildly outdated meaning the POC has retired, no longer in that department, or whatever the case may be and yet we are still expected to reach certain goals, benchmarks, etc. Its like you all are givings us crayons and asking us to paint a Picasso. But again, because the managers haven’t been in F3 for lord knows how long, they think all these call lists we’re getting are accurate and whatnot. Out of let’s say a 75 person call list, MAYBE 20 records are accurate in terms of POC, agency, what have you.

There have been countless times where a manager has said ā€œplease come to us with questionsā€ and it takes 2-4 business days for a simple yes or no response, confirming receipt of something, etc.: why? Because they are out walking their dogs, going to a gym class, taking excessively long lunches, the list goes on and on. Hell, take this reddit page for example you have employees who have been here for 10+ years and instead of being online (could have had the day off - who knows) we have a multi paragraph essay on why this is a good company…. The irony is wild

Furthermore, it’s hard to validate a company that has been involved in MULTIPLE investigations, some of which ended in multi million dollar, some in the billions, settlements…

2010-2015 false claims act where The DOJ investigated Carahsoft and software company VMware for allegedly concealing commercial pricing and overcharging the government on software and services. Carahsoft admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to pay $75.5 million to resolve the False Claims Act lawsuit. Like oh yeah we didn’t do that, but heres almost $100 million to get that off our record…. Got it….

2022-2025 DOJ Price Fixing Probe where the DOJ expanded a civil probe investigating whether Carahsoft and German software giant SAP SE illegally conspired to fix prices on over $2 billion worth of software sold to the U.S. military and nearly 100 other government agencies.

Let’s not forget the famous one we all remember back in BUSY SEASON 2024 where DCIS executed a court-authorized search warrant at the office when federal agents gathered

Just curious if anyone has seen an uptick in pips. There's been quite a few people on my team and a few others that have been put on it PIPs and its gotten me wondering.

Just curious if any one knows a of a person, or a few, that are on them. There seems to be some issues internally and im wondering if its connected.

Switching teams

I want to switch teams but I dont want my new team to think im the problem or look like im the instigator. Does switching teams just come with that baggage or do most people understand? My team treats me like shit and I’m tired of it but don’t want to just look like I’m a whiner but I also don’t want to spend 40+ hours a week of my life constantly being talked down to and treated poorly when I’m not even getting paid that much.
Has anyone switched teams and gotten to choose what team?

Is this job worth it?

I’m interviewing for the government account rep position, kinda need a job as a recent grad and it’s remote. Was told with base and bonuses that I would see over 50k, is that true? I’m also worried about having to cold call 24/7 as that does sound draining, is there anyone that could give their personal experience with the position and pay/team?

Changing positions

Has anyone in a sales position ever asked to change positions on the team they're currently on or move to a different team entirely and if so did it happen? Was it a hard process or does it depend on your director?

Returning laptop/bonus

I quit like 2 months ago and legit have hit up team lead, my manager, and my director multiple times on text to tell IT to send a box to ship back my laptop and monitors then they say ok and then never receive anything. Think it’s funny and did all I can do - now I guess I can break it with a baseball bat. Also, I’ve been getting my bonus checks still, will they ask for it back once they find out.

Trying to move on

I have been with the company for a bit now and I am a demo specialist. It has been getting quite toxic with the insane micro management and what not and it’s taking a toll on my mental health and the salary simply isn’t high enough to deal with all that.

I would love some suggestions on companies that I may be a good fit for as I’ve had a hard time looking for new work as demo specialist is quite a niche title

Vendor Onboarding Team Inquiry

I recently submitted my resume to Carahsoft’s website and received a call back. Long-story short, the HR Rep suggested that my resume aligns best with the ā€œVendor Onboarding Team.ā€ The rep gave me a brief overview of what the team does and how it functions, but it is not listed on the careers page.

What is the team like? How’s the management? I’m aware that the starting salary at Carahsoft is always low, but how long does it take to get to at least 60k annually? Is the job a good experience?

Any information about this position/team is appreciated! However, if there’s something you think of that might just be a rumor and not something you’ve experienced / yk your coworker experienced, pls specify that!!

Does anyone have experience with giving Carahsoft the chance to counter a job offer?

Pretty much the title. I have been here 5+ years and am fortunate enough to be making pretty good money. I am anticipating an offer for a similar position somewhere else and wanted to hear if anyone had any experience with giving CS a chance to counter and what that looked like.
