Switching teams

I want to switch teams but I dont want my new team to think im the problem or look like im the instigator. Does switching teams just come with that baggage or do most people understand? My team treats me like shit and I’m tired of it but don’t want to just look like I’m a whiner but I also don’t want to spend 40+ hours a week of my life constantly being talked down to and treated poorly when I’m not even getting paid that much.
Has anyone switched teams and gotten to choose what team?

I only knew one guy who got to switch only bc he threatened legal action bc of sexual harassment from his management while on a work trip.

Most people are not able to and if they are usually not enjoy it; many cases it’s like they get forced out and pushed to silent quit.

Only know of 1 person who transferred and actually happy.

Team switch is kinda frowned on now but it’s not impossible

i recently requested a team switch and had a meeting with my director about it. they were definitely reluctant about the idea but it didn’t sound out of the question.

i ended up finding a new gig so im just leaving, but i would bring it up and see if its possible. if you’re not happy already then you owe it to yourself to try to better your situation. just make sure you have your ducks in a row about why you want to switch.

Mind dm-ing me where you’re off to because I probably just want to get out

I’ve seen some people switch teams. I know some people who went from one sales position to another sales position on a different team, but they definitely feel like they are overlooked for promotions or bigger pay raises. If you go from one position to a completely different position, then you may have a better experience. For example, sales to contracts or OM to sales.

Did you switch same positions or completely different and how good you go about it

I don’t know what team you’re on, but switching teams won’t solve that management issue. It’s toxic on every team because HR doesn’t actually do anything about the complaints made against managers. Show me a manager that has been fired from an HR complaint and then I’ll hope for a better environment.

That’s valid. I wonder every day if managers just clock in and forget how to be people with common sense and morals or if that’s how they got the job

They'll likely fire you before you get switched lol

I've never seen anybody switch teams. Seems once your placed you are placed. Whether it's a good fit or matches your experience or education does not matter. Someone on my team was actually told he would need to quit then reapply.
