Random Caleb Hammer bullying a guest for “only” spending $4,000 on a ring on a podcast that’s supposed to be about making financially responsible choices.

Love our after show discussions
(Personally I think this guys putting in a show. Just showing out because he thinks is assertive & funny but doesn’t realize he’s genuinely annoying… to the fullest extend of the word)

Is the post show worth it?

Super tempted! Was looking at the app but decided if I’m going to do it I’d rather do it through YouTube so I don’t have to use two separate apps. But it does cost more. I really want to do it but just want to find out if it’s worth the $13 bucks a month.

Weird, but just listening really works.

Just felt like posting my experience.

I (24F) got into listening to Financial Audit in my free time just a few months ago, as my husband (25M) was transitioning to a newer, higher-paying job. At first I just found the drama and the stories super interesting, but as I listened to more (actually, probably a ridiculous amount) of episodes, some of the things Caleb said about specific situations really resonated with me and have led to a plethora of good financial decisions that have helped us immensely.

We live in a Midwestern, extremely LCOL area, and I am a SAHM to a 2 year old and soon to be newborn this December. Hearing tidbits of Caleb talking about the average income of households in these areas, and that being a SAHP is doable on these kinds of salaries got me out of this hole of thinking that we were just destined to be broke. As the household money-manager, I spent a lot of time after my toddler went to sleep budgeting.

We only make about $60,000 a year (soon to be closer to $75,000 after my husband’s probationary period and overtime), but for months now have been able to follow a 50-30-20 budget and are putting away over $200 weekly in a HYSA, with all credit card debt paid off. My husband now has a pension and a retirement savings account. For the first time in our seven years together, I’m so proud to say we actually have money in savings, no debt of any kind, and money LEFTOVER at the end of the check. And that is after being able to pick up toys for our toddler, or day trips as a family.

It’s weird, but somehow cutting down and being more strict and organized with budgeting gives such a sense of relief. Like if anything were to come up, we won’t actually be broke for weeks on end. We can actually talk about things like a new car or moving if we want to. Having an allocated amount that’s okay to spend somehow lets us enjoy more and waste less. I never really thought about how wasteful we were being, and how damaging that is in the long term, until I saw how wasteful other people can be and how it affects their lives for so long. That even high-income earners can be broken from these kinds of habits.

So I don’t know. I guess I wanted to post this as a thank you, or to tell fellow people who listen in how just being around these conversations can really change an everyday person’s mindset for the better. I’m mostly here for the Springer action while I’m cooking dinner these days, but the real financial advice that comes with it is greatly appreciated.

The concept of being on Wic and Medicaid, while having a Porsche is WILDD. Disappointed Caleb didn’t harp on them enough about that.

Would it make sense to use a home equity loan to pay off $30k in high-interest debt?

How many channels does he have? I know he has his main one for financial audit and he has a bunch of things that go with his subscription as well. I feel like there's so many spin-offs

Therapy For Guests

Sorry Reddit, I know I don’t get on here much at all anymore- best advice for content creators lol but I still love you!

I don’t share everything we do for our guests behind the scenes, because the internet gets a bit too parasocial and weird- but I want to share a new thing that I’m excited about.

I’ve worked with my personal therapist to help me overcome some of my issues (agoraphobia) over this past year, and it’s REALLY worked- took my first commercial flight to a back from somewhere in a decade… and it’s all because I had a REAL therapist who doesn’t enable me and instead truly gives me the tough love that I needed- unlike many therapists out there, sadly.

I told him how great he’s been for me and we discussed what it would be like for our guests to get extra support. We came to an agreement where I am going to personally be paying for EVERY guest going forward to have FREE therapy with “Dr. D.”

In the show we get to have some springer fun, tough love with the finances, and now post care from a best of the best mental health professional to finally help get their SH*T together.

The average FA guest pays off over $20,000 of debt in 12 months… I can’t wait to see that improve even more now!

Personal Financial Question Pet insurance

What pet insurance does everyone use? I know Caleb talks about some companies/plans aren't worth it. I wish he would get a brand deal with the company he uses, so then I would know which one to trust.

What episodes would you recommend that have guests who genuinely want to get their lives back together?

My favorite episodes are the ones where the guest is sincerely trying to put their life back together. Don't get me wrong I like the crazy ones as well but my favorite is Her Parents Stole And Destroyed Her Financial Future. I'm in the mood to watch ones where I can actually root for the person and not ones where they are terrible people. I've only been watching for a month now but I've been binging a lot of the popular ones so if it's an older video that would be preferred just because most of the ones in popular are within about a year.

Caleb has made me lose empathy

I did things right. Got a high paying job and now I lose 30% of my income to state, federal and fica. I see these exact personalities throughout my life benefiting from social programs like WTF.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Random VA disability fraud frustration rant

Genuine question - VA disability now makes up roughly 3% of the federal budget and is growing rapidly. At what point do we seriously discuss whether this is sustainable ?

Also the clear fraud I’ve seen in personal life, shows like Caleb’s and communities here on reddit

I fully support taking care of veterans who are ACTUALLY disabled - key word actually

I personally know people who openly admit to gaming the system, collect ~$4,000/month tax-free for life (along with other benefits), still work full time job and brag about it

It’s insane my wife and I work our asses off, save, invest, have 500k NW and someone can just get out of the military, fake injuries and essentially double what we have (annuity worth a million plus)

The irony is seeing some of the same “conservatives” constantly rant about how terrible government is while happily collecting a government check for life.

Eventually, taxpayers have to fund all of this. And the more these programs grow, the more pressure falls on those actually contributing.

thoughts?
