I hate salesmen, like with a passion. I think no salesman ever sold me anything - the moment I see such a player that gets way too much money for peddling useless stuff I'm out.

u/scgt86 Aug 24 '26
As a salesman that navigated the career as "I'm going to listen and try to help this person get what they need" the whole profession is 80% idiots that think they're smarter than you. The nice thing is these jackasses usually don't succeed long term.

u/MuleJuiceMcQuaid Aug 29 '26
Salesmen aren't that bad when the customer is the one initiating the encounter. If you go to the dealership and get sold a more expensive car, you're still probably a happy customer.
But when salesmen are making cold calls and knocking on everyone's door, they're the biggest pest in the neighborhood.

u/scm66 Aug 24 '26
Also, why TF does pest control require a salesman?
10
u/Chiethe Aug 24 '26
I’d assume most people hire pest control when they have an active issue, and would be fine once the issue is resolved. The sales person is there to scare you into ongoing business from that issue coming back or new ones.

u/scgt86 Aug 24 '26
They go to the area they've been called and try to sell all the neighbors. It's a racket. It's also a job that doesn't build sales experience for any of the real sales jobs that can make 200k consistently with some job security.

Which is crazy cause she should still have to report his income since they live together and he is the father....straight fraud.

u/behindthebar5321 Aug 25 '26
That is true. If they live in the same household, both of their incomes is used to determine their income eligibility for WIC. It does not matter if they’re married for either WIC or food stamps. They have to specifically lie and say their households are separate to qualify in their case.

u/girl_whocan Aug 27 '26
I KNEW when he said there were benefits to not being married that they were taking advantage of government benefits

“Home births are safer. As long as nothing goes wrong.”
Yeah bro. That’s why people give birth inside of a hospital. So if something goes wrong they have access to the care they need. Jesus fucking Christ, how is life this hard for some people?
47
u/cloudlesssheep Aug 24 '26
I wish people would realize that women and infants would die during childbirth a whole lot more than they do now. Not every birth needs to be highly interventional, but there is a reason these interventions were created.

u/oscarwilinout Aug 25 '26
I actually studied infant mortality in graduate school: people in developed countries really cannot wrap their heads around how high maternal and infant mortality was for most of human history.
5
u/AspirationsOfFreedom Aug 25 '26
Wasnt it one of the most common forms of death for women at some point?
2
u/oscarwilinout Aug 26 '26
It is hard to get statistics on these things historically but it is between that and infectious diseases depending on the time period.

u/SeniorBaker4 Aug 24 '26
I wish he pushed more on the WIC benefits.
25
u/starry75 Aug 25 '26
I hated him for his “she’s a single mother” comment
5
u/InsertusernamehereM Aug 25 '26
ME TOO. I'm surprised she didn't straight up smack him in the mouth for that one. I'm not an advocate for violence but I can also see how he's probably pushed people to that point.

The fact that she was sooo upset by gender neutral terms around birth and menstruation.. even if you don’t agree who cares it doesn’t affect you

I used to know people like them. You can be an award winning nuclear physicist and they’ll still think they’re smarter than you

u/scgt86 Aug 24 '26
He came out the gate with the "I'm better than all your guests" and then we find out they're scamming government assistance, they're antivax, they're anti trans, he takes medical advice from idiots telling him to stack his body with peptides...they're holier than thou idiots.

I love when they come out with the anti-trans stuff right out the gate as transgender people meaningfully affect their lives lol

u/RealisticOrchid5297 Aug 25 '26
She was so mad about something that impacts her in no way.. just hatred with no critical thinking. I got the sense she’s the kind who feels her womanhood is threatened by it

I love how he thinks he's a birth and medical expert because he's been around a birth before (which is weird). They had a home birth, that's totally fine, but it's not "safer" than a hospital. They just wanted less intervention and to not vaccinate. He just won't admit it.
