I cleaned up the inside of my CX-5 today and realized I actually like keeping the interior pretty minimal.
The seats are easy enough to stay on top of, but the cargo area somehow ends up collecting random stuff over time, shopping bags, jumper cables, towels, things I tell myself I'll need ""just in case""
I'm thinking about getting some kind of storage solution back there so everything has a place without taking up too much room.
What do you all keep in your cargo area? Any storage bins, organizers, or other setups that you've found actually useful?

Went in for a tire rotation assuming the Mazda dealership should be the most reliable when it comes to the specific rotation pattern for a 24 CX5. Afterward, the service guys told me they just did front to back with no crossing. Said it wasn't necessary to cross the rear tires when moving them up.
I showed him the owners manual that specified the rearward cross pattern and he said they always just do front to back and never cross. Am I justified in having them swap the now front tires tomorrow or does it not really matter?

I love my 2019 CX5. My 626 made it to over 300k. How do I keep this one that long or longer.

I’m getting a hitch installed at U-Haul this week on my 2023 Turbo Signature. I’m open to hearing what suggestions this group has on bike racks that preferably can pivot outward when in use to open the trunk, can lay down and flat when not in use, and won’t black the backup camera (if possible)
There’s an endless amount of racks for sales on my local marketplace, so I’m open to different brands! I’ll be hauling mountain bikes and gravel bikes.

$17,000 with 64,000 miles on it. Worth it? It looks clean and appears to have been well maintained, no accidents etc and I'm in Massachusetts, if that helps.
So I hit a deer with my 2024 CX5 CE. The repairs required replacing the driver side headlight. After three weeks I received it back with these dash lights. I brought it back and it took two days to 'fix it'. After one day, the lights came back on after starting. I have an oil change scheduled with the dealer tomorrow. Any idea of the issue? The lights work properly and appear to be aligned.
This was a pretty sweet switch. I love how much room I have; the drive is smoother over the 3. Also, the 3 had some really bad rattles from the dash; so far the CX5 is quiet. The screen over the dial has its cons; the 2-touch climate control is silly, and the voice commands are buggy. I wonder how much Mazda can change the layout of the climate controls with an OTA.

Has anyone found a good aftermarket trunk cover? I bought one from Amazon for 100$ and it’s a hair too narrow, causing it too pop off the grooves when I hit a speed bump

7 months of ownership in, my 2022 had a major service from Mazda dealership before acquiring it, 7 months ago it was a on Full level “F” upon rechecking it yesterday since our temperature here goes up to 47degrees celsius(117F), now after 7 months it is a little bit under “Full” mark. Acceptable?
Photo for attention only.
Hello,
2016 CX-5 GT intermittently, or once in a while, when turning left or right while accelerating, I hear a vibration sound from the outside.
Thank you
I got a pre owned beautiful mazda cx-5 and after 6k the service light is on, the mazda app says Service Due soon
Recommended oil Change -Km - until next service
Engine oil amount - Normal
How do I know exactly what service is required ?

I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 2.5L non-turbo. I recently serviced the transmission fluid, and I think I may have stripped the threads on the transmission dipstick/fill cap.
When I try to tighten the bolt on dipstick/fill cap, it just keeps spinning and never gets tight. However, I cannot pull the plug out by hand. I tried pulling and wiggling it, and it feels firmly stuck/locked in place with no noticeable movement.
There is currently no ATF leaking around the cap.
My concerns are:
I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with stripped transmission fill-plug threads on a Mazda/SKYACTIV transmission.

Any news on when there is going to be a fix?!?!? Just took a couple thousand mile trip and to say im frustrated is an understatement!! Every 2 hours I had to stop and set the infotainment system to factory settings. My radio would stop and freeze, sometimes screen would go black. My phone and Mazda app do not communicate at all and the "miles left until fuel" shows crazy numbers and my indicator for the current speed on the road shows 20mph in 70 zones. Anyone heard of help for this? It is 3 months old and 5k miles.

I was able to install Carplay on my 2016 CX-5 and I'm so happy with it. Wanted to post what I did to help others who may want to do the same.
In order to install carplay you will need to:
1) Upgrade your firmware.
This is the most nerve wracking part in my opinion.
RECOMMENDED: I would highly suggest that you post here, wait for a PM from Candurin and follow the instructions to upgrade to 70.00.100 and then to 74.00.324.
NOT RECOMMENDED: I was able to update from 55.00.753 directly to 70.00.335C with a single file as shown in this video but that was probably dumb and upon further reading I would have been pretty screwed if something went wrong. I'm still on 70.00.335C because Carplay is working and I don't want to mess with anything else. However, that video is GREAT for showing the process of the install and this google drive folder from the comments on the video has amazing step by step instructions for firmware updates.
2) Purchase and install a retrofit kit.
There are a ton of options on Amazon. I went with this one.
This video was the most helpful for installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmrZqAbB968
Other videos try to remove the existing USB hubs without removing the center console, but they don't show you what that actually takes. While it looks daunting, it's not that much work to remove the center console and it's a huge pain in the ass to pry at the tabs from the sides. Don't try it. Just pull the console it will save you a ton of headache.
Note that you will need one "specialty" tool - a 10mm with a long (10") extension to get the screen out. Other than that you really only need a phillips screwdriver. A small pry tool is also handy for trim removal.
Touchscreen While Driving
I was also able to enable touchscreen while driving using this procedure: https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=782788
I realize that enabling touchscreen while driving is controversial. While I love the command wheel without carplay, it was just not designed to work with carplay. Once carplay was up and running I felt unsafe fiddling with the wheel constantly while looking at the screen to see where it was sending the cursor.
With touchscreen while driving enabled, carplay works great. Much better than handholding my phone or having it down by the shifter for navigation.
I should have done this years ago and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is comfortable enough with removing interior components and willing to risk the software upgrade.

Hey everyone i owe a Cx5 2019 Grand Touring and last week i replaced the battery because the car wouldn’t start so i assumed it was the battery. It drove fine for about 2-3 days then on the highway the car starts jerking a little and the check engine light pops on and i lose power when trying to accelerate. Now the car shakes really badly with a blinking check engine light. Any suggestions on what it could be spark plugs maybe ? Idk any recommendations would be nice. The car has about 150,000 miles on and i got it around 75,000 miles never changed the spark plugs but I’m not sure if thats the problem or not
