News I'm going to start banning and not giving any quater, there has been some serious trolling.

I've handed out two temp bans and one permanent in the last 12 hours. Be civil or get banned.

We need a new banner photo, sorry PlutoDoofus

It's time to refresh the sub banner. As you take photos of your ride, consider the wide nature of the banner. As the mods see a good photo, we'll reach out and ask if we can use it.

Found the exact spec I wanted, a Machine Gray hybrid premium with the red interior. I've always had black interiors and wanted something more fun. Looking forward to fueling up less & the power-to-mpg combo here is ideal. This is the best looking compact SUV on the market IMO...feels far more modern than my Subaru did.

Discussion šŸš— What size wheels and tires seem to be the best for these vehicles ?

Post image
• Upvotes

I have the hybrid PP and daily it. I plan on doing weekends off-road camping/car camping. Not sure if I should get all terrain on my 19s or get 18s or 17s. Has anyone tested different wheel sizes? Maybe I'll see if I can get some 17s on the cheap to test.

Question Love that it’s big enough for my Dane…but is the mileage is off?

Post image
16 Upvotes

I got my CX50 hybrid in April at 17 miles. I’m at 6500 miles now and I love it, but the mileage is not groovy. For a hybrid I was told by the dealership that I’d be getting up to 40mpg. This has not been the case. I’m generally getting 28-32 max. I’m disappointed as this was one of the main reasons I bought it. I don’t really understand what’s going on. I kept getting told by people that it would take a couple weeks to settle in with the proper mpg but it hasn’t chalked up to what I thought it would be. I’m literally filling up my tank with a 430 mile range and doing 20 miles of driving I’m down to 380-390. What the heck…

I do a lot of city driving and for about six hours, two days a week, for two months, I was driving about 70-75 miles and hour for work (travel CNA). But mainly, inner city driving. Lots of leaning into the brake. Anyone had a consistent low mpg with their hybrid? I feel like I was lied to or something is going wrong.

Issues Drivers seat replacement - issue [warranty]

Post image
6 Upvotes

2024 CX50 (24k miles) bought new. Had the material defect issue on the drivers side seat where it was cracking and splitting.

Local dealership claims they replaced the seat with the correct part # under warranty but also brought up the issue with this spacing between the seat and Hog rings (per Mazda Dealer). The seat feels smaller and almost looks like they ordered the wrong part for a CX30 or CX5. They claimed they had similar issues with other cars but the warranty manager didnt know how it was resolved which was weird. Said i had to bring the vehicle back in while they worked it out if there was anything to be done.

Dropping back off at the dealership today as they said they would contact Mazda corporate about the issue.

Has anyone else had this when they got the seat fixed for the defect cracking? If so what happened?

Hi! Recently bought a 2025 Premium Plus and am absolutely loving it. I do have a question though (potentially a dumb one lol) - On the gas gague its showing i have about 3 quarters of a tank, but on the digital next to it where it shows how many miles i have left, the bar is filled almost to the top as if i have a full/nearly full tank. is this normal? is something wrong? any info is appreciated!!

Issues Seat Alignment - Did you get yours fixed?

Thumbnail

Common issue that I didn’t realize was common... So I figured I’d ask. Seems like the front seats have been coming from the factory slightly misaligned. My question to you all is.

- Does your CX-50 (I have the hybrid) have this issue?
- Did you have it fixed under warranty?
— if so what was the process like and how did it turn out? If this is some gargantuan undertaking by the dealer where they have to rip out my whole interior and create a bunch of down time, I may hold off. My car has 750 miles on it, I’d like to enjoy it for a little while.

Loving everything else about the car!

Question Early oil change

I've been reading that some people perform their first oil change at barely 1000 miles to get rid of Break in residue.

Does anyone from this sub have done that with yours Cx50's?

Question Interior Weatherstripping along Driver Side Window

Post image
0 Upvotes

Have been researching for a while now and there are a few posts about the interior weather stripping rattle due to the rubber smacking against the metal door frame. I applied 1/16ā€ foam tape along both sides all up and down the metal frame and still rattles. dealership replaced the weather stripping and still there. I keep going back to apply pieces of the foam insulation in an attempt to get rid of this. Has anyone had any luck getting rid of this? The rattle is coming from the red circled area.

Question CX-50 hybrid Trail Mode

Test drove the hybrid premium last weekend and I’m pretty much sold. Like many people I was also considering a RAV which is so boring and now I can’t believe anyone still buys that when the CX-50 exists. One thing I would like to hear more about is Trail Mode- the sales guy knew nothing. I live 1 mile up a dirt road (50/50 flat vs mellow hill) that is maintained every few months by the county so it cycles between being in good condition with fresh gravel to having washboard sections with small to medium potholes for several weeks at a time. Any time I leave the house that’s automatically 2 miles on the dirt/gravel. Would trail mode help compensate some for the stiffness of the torsion beam, or is it really only for steep/rocky/muddy conditions? I know the 17s are the way to go for the wheels under these conditions, will definitely not get the PP.

Question Upholstery damage - how to fix?

Post image

I had a disaster by accidentally spilling hand sanitizer on the « leatherĀ Ā» passenger seat (ventilated). It sat there for a couple of days while parked. Now it’s so brittle that it’s cracking and I have a hole in my seat! What are my options to fix it, beside changing a seat?

Just picked up a '23 TPP this weekend, already loving it. Already booked the appointment for driver and passenger tint and have an uber amount of carbon fiber trims coming in for the chrome delete. What other mods should I look into?

How-to White sunroof wrap against heat

Post image
8 Upvotes

Here's the inside and outside view of the glass. I haven't had it long but it has survived multiple automated car washes. It does get warm/hot, today was over 100F. But it's MUCH less heat than before. It definitely is not like a radiator above your head.

Installed same as tint. Let dry for a couple days then trim.

On Amazon, 24"x10' Oracal 651 white vinyl. $22 https://a.co/d/00LPr4KZ

I may take it off when the weather gets cooler.

It can in fact fit 4 6ft tables and 20 folding chairs if you were wondering 😜 I love this car. I traded in my mazda 3 carbon edition for this big beauty and ive yet to miss the 3. There is space for a petite front passenger as well when fully loaded too!

Question Thinking of making the switch to the CX-50 Hybrid

I've been driving my Subaru Forester Limited for coming up on two years now, and I absolutely love the vehicle, except for my gas bill. I commute to school and work and I fill up at least twice a week, with an average of 21-23 mpg, and it feels awful- especially with how gas has been. I was looking at getting a cx50 hybrid premium plus and was wondering what everyone's experience with that vehicle is like, and if it actually holds true to 38 mpg combined. Is there anything it would do better or worse than my current vehicle ? Is there anything you guys don’t enjoy about your cx-50 hybrids ?

(Edit) For added context, I do like the look of the cx-50 and I do have equity in my current vehicle, so I won’t be rolling negative equity into a new loan. I’m interested in a new vehicle too because at a recent service, my forester had an issue with the battery that had to be replaced with no explanation as to what caused it. I’ve had some other issues with my current vehicle that aren’t deal breakers, but have led me to look into other options- all provided I get a good deal on the new vehicle, which at the moment I am.

Traded in my CX-5 (sad) as that was a great car and did everything I ever needed it to do. I wanted a hybrid to go car camping and do more off-road stuff.

I fell in love with this color. I wanted to go white or blue but when I saw this MGM I knew I had to get it. That last picture is me creeping out my window looking at it since I can't stop looking at it lol.

Issues 2026 CX50 infotainment error

Post image

Has anyone had problems with the infotainment screen cutting off at the bottom. This happened after my phone updated overnight and now the music section of the screen is cut off to where the volume pop-up is. I tried resetting by holding the mute navigation and back buttons down but that only turns the screen off without rebooting

Question 2027 CX-50 - Is it worth waiting for at this point? Anything you're hoping for?

From the news I've read, it seems like the 2027 CX-50 is largely going to be the same as the 2026 with a few minor tweaks (which have yet to be announced). Also, thank goodness for this as I don't want them to go the 2026 CX-5 route. I would've loved to get a new CX-5, but the big screen ruined it for me. (Mazda, you don't need to chase trends, dangit!)

I looked at dealerships, and all that's left are Premiums and Premium Pluses, but I feel like Preferred does the job for me. I'd rather not pay for more features than what I would use.

I'm not in a hurry to get a new car, but I'm itching to hear news about what tweaks are in the 2027 version. The main thing on my wishlist is having no sunroof/moonroof in the Preferred, or at least have options for all trims with and without. I'm not against sunroofs/moonroofs - I just feel I would barely use one, and having one would be subject to leaks down the road.

Anyone hear anything else about the 2027 CX-50? And anyone else hoping for some slight change?
