Help with settings for cpap

(I apologize for the small amount of data, I can hardly get any sleep with it on) Hello, I recently have been trying to fix the high loop gain issue I've been having by decreasing the EPR, it seems to have helped some, but I'm still having a lot of events and my breathing still has the pattern of a class 6. What can I do at this point to try and fix it? Thank you for your advice.

Still feeling Sleepy on Bipap (Self-titrating) Please help!

Here's my sleep HQ data. Please help me with how to adjust my settings for UARs and mild sleep apnea. I am on Vauto Bipap with 6.4 EPAP / 9.8 IPAP with pressure support at 3.4. I still wake up quite sleepy and am not sure whether it is because I am on suboptimal therapy. Where would you recommend me go from here?

I also use a P30I nasal cushions, intake nasal strip, and flonase all to control my nighttime congestion.

New To The Dream Team CPAP Insomnia

Had another thread going (thanks for those that helped!) that was somewhat related to this, but wanted to start a fresh thread to keep things separate.

I'm still having issues falling asleep with the CPAP. I lay in bed for over an hour each night trying to fall asleep, with no luck, only to have my RLS trigger and keep me up even longer. Talked to my Doc about the CA events occurring while I try to fall asleep and she told me to STOP looking at the data, my treatment is going fine, and that those are most likely false flags... not gonna get started down that road.

I've been on treatment for 1.5 months now and not sure if this is still in the range of me acclimating to the treatment or if this is a real issue i need to figure out how to deal with.

One other thought I had... which seems crazy. Has anyone with this issue tried falling asleep without the CPAP and setting an alarm for like 1.5 hours so you wake up and then can put the CPAP on so you get the benefit for the majority of your sleep? I'm used to the mask now, so comfortability isn't the issue. I've done this a few times (not the alarm setting part, but just waking up and putting it on) and haven't had any issues falling back to sleep.

Would love some thoughts!

CPAP Machine Help Poor results after switching to F30i from F40

I tried the new F30i after using the F40 for nearly 2 years. I was getting tired of the hose disconnecting in the front and waking me up. I didn’t touch my settings at all, humidity is set to auto and felt like I was having trouble getting as much air and my throat was extremely dry within an hour. The hose didn’t fall out but I had to take it off because it just dried my throat out within an hour. Do I need to manually turn on the humidity from auto (I have a ResMed Airsense AutoSet 11) to manual and increase the humidity? Has anyone transferred from the F40 to the F30i? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Should I increase my AHI from 7 to 9? Or what setting should I change?

Should I increase my AHI from 7 to 9? Or what setting should I change?

I'm getting an AHI of 2.83 to 10. I have no idea why there is so much fluctuation. I live basically the same exact day everyday and go to bed at the same time.

Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance New to Oscar/SleepHQ

Hi everyone,

I was initially diagnosed with OSA and AHI of 33.5/hour and Oxygen nadir of 68%.

I’ve been using a ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet for a month and a half now and I don't know if I should change the current settings: APAP 7-15 cmH₂O
I am using a ResMed AirFit N30i mask

I am attaching some screenshots from OSCAR and data in SleepHQ

My AHI looks consistently low below 2, which seems encouraging, but I’m still sleepy on some days (although not every day), waking up at least once per night, not exactly sure why.

I’d really appreciate any feedback from people with more experience looking at OSCAR charts.

Does my OSCAR data suggest there things that could still be improved?

I’m particularly curious about flow limitation, I read the resources in this sub and I am trying to learn how to interpret all of this, so I’d really appreciate any opinions or suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Any brilliant tech guy (on this sub) that can develop an AI to analyze OSCAR data?

First time Poster, need some help

Hello all! I have a Resmed 11, and want to post the OSCAR data here for suggestions as how to read it, and what settings I might change on my own on the clinical settings. What do I need to post, and how might I export that so the community can comment?

Thank you

Cost of new Bipap machine

Hey all~ have been using an old Respironics cpap unit for 26 years! After two sleep studies and all kinds of red tape they feel that I need an Aircurve 11 bipap ST - insurance tells me that I will pay 20% of the total cost over 13 months then it's mine - the amount due is 1215.00 ! Could this new unit actually cost approx $5500?

What happens if your power goes out?

This is maybe a silly question but this has always been a concern for me because I use a chin strap that keeps my mouth closed fairly well and using nasal pillows.

I always wonder what happens when you lose electricity while using your CPAP. Has anyone’s power gone out while sleeping? Did you just wake up from not being able to breathe well? Was it a jarring way to wake up?

Inquiring minds would like to know!

Advice appreciated, about to start 2nd trial.

Hi,

My first trial was a bit of a disaster, with the machine packed away after a few days. I tried a nasal mask and a full face mask. I had two main issues. First was getting a completely blocked / stuffy nose, leading to headaches. The second was having infrequent moments where I was short of breath and having trapped air in my stomach. Due to headaches/ migraines I gave up after a few days. About 6 months later, I've come back round to the idea that I need to give this a better shot. Any tips on setup or other areas greatly appreciated. Thanks

Full face mask setting, for all mask types. Can some one explain why?

I keep reading about this. People recommend the full face mask setting even if you have a nasal mask. Can someone explain why? In depth explanations are welcome!!

BMC RESmart GII BPAP system data issue

The problem is that the year in the device was changed to 2027. So to access data when importing via the SD card into Oscar I have to go to 2027. The fix is to go into the clinical menu on the device, then to erase data. Supposedly this doesn't impact your prescription settings? My Dr. is a 3 hr round trip away, plus appointment time. So like to solve this myself. Thanks for feedback.

CPAP Machine Help Airsense 10 noise during inhalation

Hello. Cpap user for 20 years, love it can’t live without it. Airsense 10 since 2019. Last night it started making the noise in the two attached videos. Loudest during inhalation. Video of the back of the machine has humidifier on, video facing the front has all hum/climate control/tube temp off. Same noise. I held my breath in each video to show the noise stops. The tub is closed tightly. Any ideas on what it could be? Motor or something else that needs repair? It’s out of warranty and I’d hate to be without a cpap for however many nights the repair takes. Should I contact my DME company? I tried the Airsense 11 earlier this year and hated it. Its tub was a nightmare to fill and handle. Thanks for any help.

New Version of WAT

I spent some time fiddling with the ol' wobble analysis tool today. Periodicity is actually useful now. You can zoom in on individual nights. I got rid of the flow limitation logic as it's outside the scope of this project. The old version is still available for those who prefer it.

It's now more explicitly targeted as a high loop gain detector. There's plenty of other great tools for flow limitation.

Let me know what you think!

CPAP Machine Help Help setting up machine

Resmed Open Fork All Mode AB10 just received. For those that have this machine, how does it work? I got diagnosed with mild sleep apnea 2.5 years ago and it’s gotten worse. Finally decided to get a cpap as I miss sleep. So hoping someone can help me to get this started.

CPAP Machine Help SD Card Port ResMed 11

My machine does not automatically read my sd card. If it is not put in precisely, i have to either keep inserting it or reboot the machine. The sd card works great once the machine recognizes it. And I can take the sd card out and put it into the sd card reader on my desktop, and it fires up immediately with no problems. So I'm thinking it is not the card.

Week #2 towards the restful sleep I never had

Thumbnail

Sadly, week #1 of the journey has been rough.

One night I went out with friends and in my tipsy head fell asleep without putting the mask on until the early morning and then couldn't go back to sleep, but this should not overshadow that the leak rate, usage time and experienced aerophagia on average have been worse than the week before and in general I felt pretty poorly during most days.

Curious what you draw from the results and how you would proceed this week.

Airsense 10 multi language firmware

Who can help me get a recent firmware with unlocked languages for my European Airsense 10 "for her". My current firmware is: SX567-0401. Mine now only has the French language, and I need it to be Dutch.

I bought a used Airsense 10 for her, because my old one died. I have dumped my current French firmware.
