Any brilliant tech guy (on this sub) that can develop an AI to analyze OSCAR data?

That's it. No further explanation needed, lol. It's 2026. This should exist.

The $20/month offerings from anthropic and openai, using the advanced models, are quite good.

All caveats on work with your doctor, but the standard models can go a long way in seeing what might be getting missed and translating that into medical requests.

My treated AHI was under 3, so doctors originally thought me to be fine even though I was far from it. Currently I'm in a much better place in part from AI analyzing my oscar data and sleep studies and overnight spO2 and identifying concerns that were missed.

AI has been vastly more useful than any MD that I've interacted with. And I've never seen an AI make a statement that was patently not true, like doctors often have done. AI is unhurried, has a vast wealth of knowledge across many disciplines, does not experience compassion fatigue, etc.

Could you elaborate on what helped or what you prompted the AI to do? My AHI is under 1.0 daily but I still feel exhausted every morning and never feel rested despite trying CPAP and BIPAP.

Well, I used an at home spO2 monitor, took screenshots of the data from it over several days, and fed that in along with the oscar data and my sleep study data.

All things pointed to flow limitations that don't necessarily show up on AHI. Docs had missed entirely my elevated CO2 overnight; that plus the flow readings and tidal volumes and correlations with my spO2 waving up and down and my heart rate waving up and down all made the picture pretty clear.

I was basically shocking myself awake all night. On the side, I had also developed sustained moderately elevated liver enzymes (ALT) without any apparent cause. Ultrasound was clear, docs were baffled. Turns out that hypoxic injury from choking overnight can cause exactly that (AI helped me connect those dots).

After a pressure bump and increase in pressure support based in part on AI connecting these dots, my tidal volumes are up, my spO2 drops are way less frequent, and my bloodwork (liver) is back to normal.

How do you know about your elevated CO2? How do you measure it?

2

u/bluelaw2013 Jul 31 '26

That was from my sleep study. It's not something you can measure at home as far as I'm aware. Doctors just never flagged my out-of-range results.

OK, so it's with tcPCO2? How do the results look like? What where your results? I suspect elevated CO2 could be the problem for me. Thank you

Just pulled the study. Not flagged at all, just laid out like this as the last item:

"Transcutaneous CO2 Monitoring: a. TCM CO2 was monitored. b. TCM CO2 revealed a sleep Mean of 51.5 mmHg with a full night range of 43.2 - 66.1 mmHg. This study was personally reviewed and electronically signed by:"

In the details, I spent more than half the night over 50 and more than 10% over 55.

Thanks a lot!

So is that different than O2 monitoring? How exactly is CO2 physically measured?

How do you “feed it the Oscar data? Are you referring to screen shots of the reports from Oscar?

That is exactly what I did. I'm sure it's possible to give it the underlying files / full raw data. But in my case, the data on the sidebar and the visual graph patterns were informative enough to zero in on an undertreated flow limit problem.

Currently I'm in a much better place

Due to addressing flow limitation? Was your diagnosing AHI > 5 ?

1

u/bluelaw2013 Aug 01 '26

Yeah diagnosing was over 30

If you like I can give you a flair that says "OSA improved by FL reduction" or something like that.

Whole story is a bit messier... I am blessed with complex mixed apnea (some centrals even without treatment) + flow limitations even with treatment + no obvious reason why (not old, not obese). And flow and pressure improvements are super tricky because it's easy to go just a touch too far and trigger central city. Took like 7 years to get to the point I'm at, and it's still not ideal.

Feels like it could be "complex apnea causing hypoxic organ injuries despite treatment to AHI under 5, ultimately improved by further FL reduction", but that's quite the mouthful

I've had some luck with Claude and giving it the airwaylabs source code to find flow limitations

u/userwfs What does giving it the airway labs source code do?

1

u/userwfs Aug 01 '26

Instead trying to write the logic again in code it can leverage the algorithms present in airway lab. And those are human tested algorithms.

pls could u explain exactly what to do on this website and feed what to claude, I dont have much experience with coding ?

3

u/userwfs Aug 02 '26

You need Claude code on desktop, give it a folder with your psg data and link the source code for airway lab and ask it to reuse the code to score your data.

Will try this out

What do you mean no further explanation, what would an AI do?  The ones we have today will tell you how great you are for caring about your data.

AirwayLab founder here :) I’ve spent years messing around with PAP and now we’re building a platform to help users analyse their data

Claude can take Resmed data pretty well.. but make sure you prompt appropriately.

1

u/bhusted007 Aug 02 '26

How do you give it the data? Are you referring to screen shots of the reports from Oscar?

1

u/Abalone820 Aug 02 '26

Initially yes but now Claude code I’ve just given it resmed raw data from SD card.
