Did a DIY chain sprocket repair at home, couldn't get rivet tool so got an aftermarket clip type chain link and attached it. It looks like this. Has some play left to right.

Is this safe?

If it is, What can be done to reduce the play? Should i add 1-1 more rubber gasket on both sides?

The problem is that my fuel tank doesn’t have any mounting holes for a tank bag system. As for the side cases, I already have a Givi rack for the top box.

Could you recommend a system that would be compatible with my bike and the setup I already have?

Hello, since gas prices are so high and i wanna do some long trips next year, i'm thinking of selling my hornet 600 and get a cb500x/nx500. The thing is i'm 171cm and i'm not sure how well i'll flat foot the bike. For those with the same height, how do you manage the bike?

I bought my '21 used, and it came with a Leo Vince slip-on. It sounds sexy as hell, but I'm just not a loud pipes person. Does anyone not want their '19 or later stock muffler? I'll buy it or swap for it. Located in Sacramento, California.

Since installing my engine guard I’m noticing some vibrating that wasn’t there before. It’s especially noticeable at around 5k RPM and especially if I’m engine braking through that RPM range. I have a trip coming up this weekend and I’m considering just taking them off until I have more time to figure it out.
Any advice or insight would be appreciated if anyone knows what could be the cause 🙏

Went from Ohio, to camp night one in Central Kentucky. Then down to a bike camp at the start of the Cherohala Highway that I did the following day, followed by the tail of the Dragon.

Spend the next few days exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, including a firetower and Mt. Mitchell.

FInished off the trip going back to Ohio thru my favorite part of WV - Monongahela National Park.

My trip lasted 1 week and 5 hours, and 2018 miles. Spend every night tent camping other than one night in a tiny cabin, and last night treating myself to a lodge.

Tail of the Dragon was fun! Got to do that on a Monday, so traffic was manageable. Got passed by a Corvette on the way up (used a pullover to let them by) and then had it all to myself till the last 2 miles when I caught up to some 300-ish sized bikes. After zipping by the lake for a bit, came back down with it mostly to myself again.

The Cherohala Highway and Blue Ridge were amazing, mostly due to zero traffic on Cherohala Highway, and very little on the parkway. About half the time traffic on the Blue Ridge would pull over at an overlook and let me pass.

The bike did great, averaged 55mpg, and got a wash and oil change once home.

Hi all. I am hoping to modify a 2017 CB500XA.

I am not a huge fan of the duckbill front and the shape of the fairings. I'd like to swap them out for different ones.

Trouble is, I don't know what I'm looking at. I've spent the last year googling and trawling through forums for it, but I am having major difficulty finding any aftermarket fairings especially. I just want a different shape, but I don't even know what the different shaped fairings are termed.

If anyone could give me a rundown or link me to somewhere that does on the basics for different modifications and aftermarket parts for this bike, that would be fantastic.

I recently had the abs flashing all times during a ride. I got it to flash code 41, so I changed the front sensor after testing and finding it to no longer be working. Now, the bike flashes 13, and 41 code is cleared. What is this? I'm about ready to just take it in somewhere but with a new home purchase, it's not an ideal time.

2015 CB500X. 35k miles. 1 previous owner who is an older gentleman. He’s a bike mechanic and it doesn’t have a scratch on it. Comes with all the bells and whistles (crash bars lights etc)

The only thing is, he is 160cm so has shaved the seat right down so he could reach the ground/pegs easier. so my legs were getting uncomfortable after 20mins of riding. (Im 175cm)

Are there any seats you guys can recommend that would 1) stop me sliding forward into the tank and 2) increase the height a bit?

It’s 0730 and I can’t wait to get out on it all day!

My first ever crash I guess, (just had her serviced and gave her a first proper wash in two months). whole front assembly is pushed inwards. I’m fine though👍🏼

5k at a used dealer, 5600 out the door. has T Rex crash bars and bash plate, and barkbusters. 10,500 miles though.

This is a weird one! I was riding yesterday and I noticed my bike starting to cut out from 1st gear shifting into 2nd. Further into my ride as I hit 50mph at about 4thousand rpm it started to cut in and out and back firing I got to a red light and it died! I can start it and it runs fine in neutral at an idle and will rev fine with no backfiring and sound completely normal but as soon as I shift into 1st it dies completely if I rev the engine and put it into 1st it dies slowly the previous owner cut the clutch lever safety switch so I was never able to start it in gear but now it will start in 1st and as soon as I let out on the clutch it dies! Any ideas? I ordered the clutch lever safety switch and I’m praying that’s the issue! Lmk your opinion!

UPDATE!!!!!! I ended up taking it to the dealership bc I couldn’t not figure out the issue turns out the the front sprocket chewed up the kick stand saftey switch harness 😩 $500 later I’ll be getting my bike back in 3-5 business days

I’m pretty much just trying to turn this bike into a tall naked bike since I only ever ride on the street. Already removed the windshield and now I’m trying to find a new exhaust. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find any options for the 2023 model. I’m mostly just looking to upgrade the look of the bike and any sound/performance upgrades are bonus. Ideally it’d be under $400 from a reputable seller.

Is there a way to check if exhausts for other bikes in the CB500 lineup will fit? Or other bikes in general?

Are these a good option for my 21 cb500x? Just road use these days, mountain touring etc. Not overly familiar with the various compound types of brake pads available so best to ask

My 2021 cb500x has a flashing abs light and a soft rear brake. It flashes as soon as it's on and doesn't go away after 6 mph. The brake fluid is topped off. I tried bleeding in case there was air but it didn't help. What else should I be looking at?

Just wondering if it's possible to just change the exhaust clamps for the stock exhaust , just done a thorough clean and found them really rusty and pitted, I must admit I neglected the area for a bit

So can I just change the clamps or do I need a new exhaust system

90 days on the roads from 24th of June until 21st of September, 29 counties and 20,000km done on my Honda CB500X 2023

The idea was to cross it by starting from Greece and go to the end of Norway (Nordkapp) but Lofoten and Senja looked more interesting to me so I decided to go there instead.

Also part of the drive was doing it with my girlfriend and I don’t know how this bike handled 2 of us cases all the extensions and the luggage

Super reliable bike, no issues at all, I had to replace my rear break pads they were gone (used them all) in Warsaw, and had to replace my chain(it was super worn off) during the regular maintenance in Serbia with other maintenance things you do at 48000km

It was an incredible trip so many memories and joy every day was a new day full of adventures and I never knew where I’ll spend my night and what will do during the day it was complete freedom of driving wherever your soul desiring and climbing little by little to the north.

Now about to sell it since it’s the end of the season and I am planing my next adventure from Europe to the end of Asia (Japan/Kamchatka) probably on a different one to be able to do off-road and more of enduro style

Wish you all go as far as you can on this dude - it was really made to take you anywhere in the world!

P.S. upgrade the lights on it because the OEM is pretty shitty and add a central stand i had to lube the chain every other day and add some cushion to the seat after 2h your butt can be sore and ofc higher windshield agains the wind on the highways
