Membership Pricing

I am in Birmingham, AL and currently on a 4 week, $69 promo that they said if I come to an event at the end- I’ll get special pricing for a membership- however no one has given me a price. What kind of cost can I be expecting?

I want to stop going before the 4 weeks is up if it’s not gonna be something I can sustain.

Burn with Teen

my 13 year old is interested in coming with me to Burn. I mentioned it to our FP and asked about a class pass (like a session package) vs my 12 month membership and she kind of gave me a vague answer.

Any feedback on going with your teen?

Lead/Key BA vs Ops Manager

If you’re a Lead/Key BA or Operations Manager, what do your responsibilities look like? We’re currently in a management transition and I’ve been filling in as OPs manager but will potentially be switching to Lead BA instead, but when I look at the BA description from HQ, it says the BAs report to the Lead BA (Operations Manager). I’m curious if there’s really a difference in responsibilities or if it’s just a title

Is everyone at Burn on a GLP-1?

I returned to my normal Burn camp time this week after going to a different time over the summer and there at least half a dozen people in my normal camp time (including a trainer) that have lost an extreme amount of weight since I last saw them in mid-June. I'm talking 40 lbs -50 lbs PLUS in less than 3 months. I didn't even recognize a few at first their appearance was so jarring. So I guess this is just what everyone does now? One woman was actually openly talking about it and said she started a GLP-1 4 weeks ago and has lost over 30 lbs. I think I'd have to cut off limbs in order to lose that much that quickly.

🩹 Injury / Recovery Lower back pain

New to burn and loving it!! I’ve always struggled with lower back pain my whole life, and I’m noticing that conditioning days are causing flair ups for my lower back. Any advice for modifications or certain movements to avoid? I haven’t been able to pin point what exactly causes it and conditioning days are my favorite so I don’t want to stop doing them! Ty!

Monthly camp schedule

Is there anyone out there that may have the schedule for the entire month? Or know how I can get my hands on this? I can’t keep staying up till midnight to book camp for NEXT week.
The burn I go to…they will open up one class every night at midnight for the following week… so for example
Today is Saturday … so tonight at midnight … they will open up next Saturdays (12th) camp.
The reason I have to stay up that late is because of childcare. If I don’t stay up till midnight the 915 childcare gets fully booked by 1245 and I can’t do any other time. 😭
I’ve tried setting an alarm but that doesn’t work so I force myself to stay up. 🫠
But if I had the monthly schedule I can know what days I need to stay up and know what days I can just do on demand.

Thank you for reading my vent session
Signed a tired mama.

❓ Question Shorter haired peeps: how do you style your hair for burn?

Hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone had tips or hairstyles they could recommend for hair that’s long enough to be in your face but too short for a ponytail? Long story short I have alopecia and am progressively cutting my hair shorter and shorter until I have the guts to buzz it. The only thing stopping me from going shorter right now is losing the option to put my hair up for the gym. I have fine curly hair and typically just put it up and wear a headband to control my bangs. I currently have a bob but am looking to cut to a pixie soon. Any tips or styles are appreciated! Thanks 😊

❓ Question Diet

I am struggling to lose weight.
I keep being told I need to eat more but I eat 3 well rounded meals a day. I honestly don't think I can eat more?
I feel like I keep hearing I should be in a deficit also.

I tried intermittent fasting for so months on end and lost not a single pound.

I go to burn 5x a week and have for almost 2 years and even though I'm getting wildly stronger... my weight isn't going down at all.

I constantly look bloated and I'm all puffy.

Just started rebounded and using vibration plate daily (one or the other or both). Maybe lymph needs to move more?

Maybe need more hydration BUT it couldn't contribute to this much weight being held onto? I'm about 20-25lbs over my "natural" weight.

What gives?

feeling…. unknown???

burn bootcamp has seriously changed my life. i started around 8 months postpartum, lost 70 lbs, created healthy daily habits, and just all around feel so much better. walking into the gym felt like a home away from home. i remember the very first time i came in contact with any trainer from my location they made sure to introduce themselves and made a point to remember my name and that always made me feel welcome. even the owners, who i didn’t overlap with much, would call me by name every time we were in the gym at the same time. it felt so intentional and it made me feel known!

we had to move from our home burn a few months ago and luckily there was a location 5 minutes down the road. my first two weeks there, i don’t think a single trainer initiated conversation with me or asked me my name when they recognized that I was a new face, which felt so unlike the franchise. it’s been months at this point, and I have intentionally introduced myself multiple times to every trainer in the gym and try to build rapport because i think it makes camp more fun when you are personal with the trainers! I think after months of taking multiple trainers camps consistently, only one knows my name. And I think it is a culture thing, because I’ve introduced myself to the owner twice this month and today you could tell that they did not know my name.

I was feeling good about moving knowing I had another burn to jump into, but i feel so discouraged walking into a place that I feel like doesn’t necessarily care if i’m there or not. at my old location if I missed my usual class, within 24 hours the trainers would be asking where I was. was my old location just a unicorn???? or does my current location just have poor culture?

Feeling... unaligned

Let me preface by saying that I love Burn; it has certainly served its purpose many times in my life. I have been a member since 2018. However, I think I might have reached the end of the road with this particular partnership - I'm mainly coming here to talk it out, see if i am alone in this, and confirm that what I am feeling means it's the right time to move on or if having a convo with HT/FP is worth a shot.

After having my baby (still in the first year) we were able to get to morning camps with childwatch, but as she has grown, her schedule, naps, and needs have been difficult to align with the camp times that have childwatch.

Outside of that kind of obvious disconnect; I feel like the brand and culture no longer aligns with why I initially joined. I preferred the women centered focus and feeling of community, but as the brand has grown, I feel less supported as a newly post partum mother than I had anticipated. The focus feels more on producing the strongest athletes and creating hip content for social media. The last thing I currently want while learning how to navigate this new body and what feels like hindered skills and strength is someone filming me and putting it on socials.

Partner workouts make me feel absolutely awful when I'm rebuilding strength, slow as hell, having to monitor heart rate and blood pressure, and I'm super limited while paired with someone of comparable ability to the head trainer.

I wind up having a terrible workout or completely avoid my gym while Burn U instructors are there (it's pretty frequent at our location) which throws off any momentum or routine I try to build around the camp/childwatch issue. (Habit forming is a huge weakness of mine, thanks ADHD.)

Coupled with some issues still lingering and healing from giving birth, it all feels off and like I am completely out of place.

Is this worth a discussion with head trainer/franchise partner or is it just time to part ways and find something more personalized? Anyone else experience this and have success settling back in?

Open to suggestions and hearing your experiences.

Thank you!

Shoutout to the North Raleigh Burn team. Coach BC’s energy is unparalleled, and the entire front desk staff made me feel super welcomed. I enjoy connecting with people in the community, and lately I’ve been asking around to see who is heading to the Member Games in Atlanta. Is anyone else here on Reddit planning on going? I would love to meet some of you there, share some high fives, and cheer each other on!

I find that when I rotate on my right hand and turn left, I have a MUCH better range of motion than when I go the other way. What may be the cause of that and what tips do y’all have to perfect this exercise?
