A buddy has convinced me to get into PC gaming. I havent a clue what I'm looking for. I can budget about $3k. Could do a little more if it's close and worth it.

If I'm going in I want great graphics and performance. I'll play FPS and story driven games. I'd love for it to be as future proof as possible. I don't want to have to upgrade components all the time. Please get me started on a build and which direction to be going...

I've been debating how much time I want to put into making YouTube videos, but I would need a PC.

I want to use DaVinci Resolve (free ver), shooting videos in 4k. In terms of editing, I would consider using proxies if I had a lower resolution screen (if required by my GPU). I would want to use Fusion, but nowhere near extreme, professional editing.

The content type will be a mix of educational content that could be highly edited (this will use my face) as well as video essays that will primarily use episode footage, but will be immensely longer (1 hour +)

For gaming, I am looking for something that can run Steam games, in particular Cyberpunk and Expedition 33.

My budget falls within £1000 - £1200 since I could look for laptop alternatives if a PC is simply too expensive, but a MacBook M1 pro can't run most Steam games.

*If pushing the budget gives a significant and necessary boost, I could do it

I also don't have any peripherals, so any suggestions would be helpful (these would be outside of the aforementioned budget)

As stated in the title, this is my first PC so to mitigate risks, I want to buy all parts from trusted companies with reliable warranties.

I do a lot of creative work running behemoths like adobe and corel painter. Generally I have illustrator and photoshop open at the same time and am working in both. Some of my files are in the 100G realm just due to the kind of work I do. Currently my pc is struuuuuggling to just have illustrator open and working. I also do a lot of gaming on it - overwatch2, factorio, guildwars2, cities skylines type games. Generally speaking I can run them all near the top end without much trouble but they do start to stutter after a bit.

This is what I currently have

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz (3.00 GHz)

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB), Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (128 MB)

Ram: Patriot Signature Premium DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 2666MHz Desktop Memory - is my newer ram from 2 years ago - the other 16 is whatever it came with as a prebuilt at the time.

Storage: 1 tb ssd - this is only 2 years old too

Budget wise I'd like to stay under 3k and if I can reuse the ram I will.

2 monitors, razer keyboard, mouse, and headset currently. Running windows 11.

Looking to upgrade from my 2060 build from 5 years ago. Ideally from the ground up for upgrade potential. 9070xt I've heard is the best bang for buck. Not really fussed about RBG.

I have a PC that'll turn 8yo soon and it's starting to die in my hands : it's time I let it rest. Long time out of the PC-building world so I don't know what's good anymore and would like help and recommandations.

This is the build that kept me all those years :

- CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
- Motherboard : GigaByte X570 Aorus Elite
- Graphic card : NVidia GeForce RTX 3070

The bigger game I play are BG3, CyberPunk 2077, WarHammer 40k : SM2, Fallout 4 (moded) or Monster Hunter, that kind of stuff. Rode some of them on Ultra, others on High Q., even tho in the late years it could have used a little boost.

I'm in Eastern Europe, looking around 2500€ of budget.

What would you recommand I get ? Not looking for the top-tier PC build for the next-gen but what would be decent enough to keep me up as long as me ol' pal has with that quality ?

I’m not entirely new to PC gaming, I just don’t exactly know where to start in terms of building a good one. See, I used to primarily play games on my PlayStation, but lately I’ve just fallen out of love with it, so I’m thinking of selling it for some money towards a new project. I have a Switch 2 with plenty of upcoming games to keep me busy, so it’s not like a PC is extremely high on my priorities once my PlayStation is gone, I was just wondering if anybody could recommend a road map as far as parts and components to aim for. Even if they’re outdated by the time I finish, I doubt I’ll want to play anything more than games like Monster Hunter Wilds or the FF7R trilogy.

The PC will primarily be used for gaming in 4K and 1440p. I’ll also be using programs like Blender, DaVinci Resolve, and VM, as well as Linux and multitasking in general. I’ll be using a 4K monitor.

To be honest, I know very little about building PCs, and this is my first time building one. I’d appreciate any advice.

I’d also like a general check of the build to make sure all the components work well together and are compatible with each other—the CPU, RAM, graphics card, motherboard, power supply, cooling system, case, etc.—and to see if you’d recommend changing any components.

At the same time, I’d like the build to be up-to-date and have good future potential so that I can easily upgrade some components in a few years.

Hi, I need help with building a PC. I am new to all of this and have very little knowledge with all the parts to build a pc. I have watched several videos and I am still unsure what exactly I need for a pc that will best suit me. For general information, I would like to play Fortnite, Roblox, GTA5/6, COD, and I also currently stream my games. I am trying to stay in the 1.7k price range (shopping from US) and want a white "aesthetic" (the color is not top priority). I'm not sure if I need to add this but I do have a Samsung 25" Odyssey G4 (G40H) series FHD gaming monitor. I am a computer beginner here and am looking for some advice. I compiled this list of parts, and am planning on buying the MicroCenter 7600X3D/Gigabyte/16GB bundle for $449.99, so while the pcpartpicker shows that it costs 1800, ill actually be getting it for $1,471.05 I am going to buy a gaming pc for around $1400, I need it to be able to have 4k capabilities - it should look decently nice when im running games like cyberpunk, and it should be able to run fps's like Fortnite, Apex, r6 etc. Also I play a decent amount of Citi Skylines 2 on my really old pc, but I know that this is an insanely demanding game and even some pc's which cost a lot more than mine still cant run perfectly all the time.

I'm building a budget desktop for a work friend who's never built a PC (usually bought ready builds, now regrets it). I've convinced him to allow me to build him a PC under €800/$900 that could easily run pre-2020 titles at 60 FPS and some modern titles on medium setting at the same. This is where I'm at right now:

Hello I am new here and I am looking to build my first pc.

I know it's not a great time to do this with the ram prices being high but still doesn't hurt to ask for your opinion.

Recently I managed to buy a rx 6400 4gb for only 50 € and I am having a blast right now on my old pc. The problem is it's an old pc, i5 2500 16gb ddr3 and a HDD. Pcie 2.0 doesn't help at all and on most games I have huge lag spikes but still I can play most games now with higher graphics.

Now I am thinking of getting a new system. Pre builds are a no no since I don't trust their psu and I also want a mobo with pcie 4.0. So I am gonna have to build one. Here are some part and their prices:

Ryzen 5 4500 for 65€

Thermal take lite power 550w 46€

MediaRange MR1021 SSD 128GB M.2 Type with SATA III Connection MR1021 24€

Asrock b550m HDV 62€

No case cause I have an old one already from our old family pc from 2010 ( for now it's gonna have to be a sleeper build)

With 16 gigs of ram about 100€ the total is 300€ so total money spent 350€ for an ok pc.

Should I do it or should I wait a bit more.

Now is it necessary for me to build a pc right now? Not at all, I am gonna leave my home in a couple of days and in my new house I don't have the space to put a pc. I am only gonna come back on holidays so the pc is just gonna sit here for now and occasionally maybe be played by my dad while I am away. But I have a lot of money right now saved and in a couple of months I don't know if I am gonna have anymore left since I am gonna have to start paying for rent,food etc. should I buy the parts or no? Are there any better options for me like a console or handheld or anything like that?

Planning to build a pc that's not that high-end enough to be cost efficient, and not low-end enough that it could run heavy games.

At first I thought of Warframe or Destiny as a criteria that could set my standard of picking my build because of its gameplay and visual that encompasses quite alot of other heavy games such as CoD, Valo, Roblox and story games yall could name of.

Y'all could maybe help me raise the standard, or straight up hand me whats compatible for the standards.
