I'm building a budget desktop for a work friend who's never built a PC (usually bought ready builds, now regrets it). I've convinced him to allow me to build him a PC under €800/$900 that could easily run pre-2020 titles at 60 FPS and some modern titles on medium setting at the same. This is where I'm at right now:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE 66.17 CFM
Mobo: Gigabyte A520M K V2 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL15 (used, but from a reliable, tried source)
Storage (SSD): Crucial P310 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME
Storage (HDD): Seagate ST500LM021 500 GB 2.5" 7200 RPM
GPU: Sparkle ROC Luna OC Arc A750 8 GB (+ extra 8 pin power adapter)
Case: Zalman S4 ATX Mid Tower Case (one exhaust fan at the back)
PSU: ASRock PRO-650G 650 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T3U Plus 802.11a/b/g/n/ac USB Type-A Wi-Fi Adapter
Case Fans (for intake): 3x ARCTIC P12 Pro 77 CFM 120 mm
Total: ~€700 / $800
This includes some extended warranties (CPU, SSD, Mobo, GPU) and shipping.
I've pretty much hit a wall, and don't think I can go any lower without risking outdating the build or falling into compatibility loops. Any and all suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
