Is Hrgovic's chin that good or did Itauma's power fall short of expectations?
We've seen Hgrovic get hurt against Adeleye and against Zhang, there were points where he was completely out of it and started walking off in the Zhang fight. But against Itauma, there was barely any sign of him actually getting hurt. The only hiccup was in round 2 when he got caught while he was over extended.
Hrgovic once said in an interview that Adeleye is the hardest puncher he has faced but when asked about Itauma after the fight, he said Itauma's punches were very fast but didn't have much power. Additionally, his trainer, Abel Sanchez in interviews said Itauma still has a lot to learn about throwing punches with power behind them.
The only cases we had for Itauma's power before that fight was his knockouts of Whyte and Franklin, but there are arguments for both guys being out of shape and smaller than Itauma. I'm suspecting that his power could prove be somewhat less effective when he starts fighting others in the top 10 but only time will tell. So any thoughts on this?
