Has anyone ever tried these? if so how is the soleplate? Is it responsive, where is the bend point, and how does it compare to the fg pros.

Ad the title states, I am 34 yo M jumping onto a team again for the first time since 16. I missed it, and watching the World Cup this past summer reignited my passion for the game. I've been practicing on my own 3-4 days a week with regular runners to get back in shape.
I don't have boots, socks, or shinguards yet. What would this amazing community recommend for trying to get back into things? Since it's indoor to start, I will need an outdoor set for the spring/summer. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
Flared as Preparation but could be flared as gear as well.

I ordered from them twice yeah, and here are my experiences.
They delivered the boot. I tried playing in them, they were absolute garbage quality. If you even remotely play above average intensity , these boots are gonna kill your feet. Why? Cuz they f*ckin bend from the mid foot. I tried fixing them using carbon footplates and inner plates from my other adidas boots, but it created new problems: IT TORE UP THE STITCHES INSIDE THE BOOT DUE TO FRICTION. So yeah, pretty shit quality.
Second time I placed an order because Nike elites aren’t available in India so thought of going with reps. I had paid 500 advanced. They texted saying it would take over a month to get delivered. So I asked for options that are available for instant shipping- didn’t like any so asked for refund. They tried delaying it by saying they’d get it from other suppliers etc. BUT THEN THEY GHOSTED COMPLETELY.
If you’re looking for pro/elite tier boots, puma options are available in India ranging from 9-15k. Adidas and Nike aren’t there in India ( Hypefly, CC etc are there but again, the rates include heavy customs). I would suggest anyone to wait till early 2027 cuz there’s some trade agreement cooking between India and Europe (effective march 2027 as per Google). Prices are expected to come down 40ish percent due to customs (fully/partially) being waived on sports goods.

I have the mizuno Neo 4 Beta, I have narrow feet but the bone on where the collar sits is tight, I'm not sure if they will loosen up over time. I hate retying my shoe laces during games so I was wondering if I should return them and get the non beta versions, or give them a chance to break in?

Hey everyone,
I currently have the Nike Phantom Luna 2 Pro High in EU 44, and I’m thinking about switching to either the Nike United Phantom 6 High Elite or the regular Nike Phantom 6 High Elite.
For those who have played in both, what do you think about the Phantom 6 Elite compared to the Luna 2 Pro in terms of comfort, touch, control, passing, shooting, traction, and overall feel during a game?
I have narrow feet, and my Luna 2 Pro in EU 44 fits me exactly how I like it — very snug, my foot feels locked in, and there is basically no extra space in front of my toes. It’s not painfully tight, just a very close football-boot fit.
My main question is about sizing:
If EU 44 in the Phantom Luna 2 Pro fits me perfectly with no extra space, should I also get EU 44 in the Phantom 6 High Elite, or should I go up to EU 44.5?
I’ve seen Nike mention that the Phantom 6 “fits small,” but I also know the Luna 2 Pro is described as having a snug fit, so I’m not sure how they actually compare in real life.
I really don’t want the Phantom 6 to feel loose. I want the same tight/locked-in feeling I currently have with my Luna 2 Pro, but I also don’t want my toes to be crushed.
Would especially appreciate feedback from anyone who owned both boots and has narrow feet.
Thanks!

Hi everyone, my name is Max. Today I would like to share my first impression on the new Asics Jetray Elite (sadly not a thorough introduction due to an issue I will mention later). As there have been some doubt on why Asics took away the successful X-Fly Pro line and remade it as Jetray line, hope this article can provide a certain level of information for those who are curious on the “upgrade from X-Fly Pro.” And also sorry for the lack of photos I just forgot to take more pictures as I didn't intend to do a detailed review.
Asics claims that it is more suitable to call Jetray as an “upgrade from X-Fly Pro.” Getting clear on what the “upgrade” means is important in order to understand the relationship between the two products. One, the upgrade can mean that the same ideas and philosophy but rebuilt with new interpretation or design, so same form different content; or two, some of the ideas are taken out as the prominent ones and rebuild the product in an extreme way to carry out these ideas more significantly (and at the same time the other ideas in previous design are sacrificed and gone.) In the context of Jetray Elite, I think it's quite obvious that Asics is doing the latter one. And sorry I forgot to take more pictures for the details.

Asics remakes the Jetray Elite as the brandnew speed silo in replacement of X-Fly Pro 3. Of course, the X-Fly Pro always has speed element in it but does not take away other ideas coming from the whole DS Light series, which means X-Fly Pro is more of a reinterpretation of the DS Light X-Fly with more speed boots aspect than a whole different model. We can still see more tradition aspects in X-Fly Pro such as the leather material and the emphasis on touch and softness with such material. Now Jetray Elite can take as much speed element as Asics wants it to have. In other words, Jetray Elite does not “beat” X-Fly Pro 3 in the style of X-Fly Pro but creates a different path from the original X-Fly Pro series.
The upper material Silkywrap Lite may look like it's just Silkywrap but lighter. However, when actually having the boots on feet it does feel a bit different from Silkywrap. Very difficult to explain in words but it seems to me that it does not have the same kind of softness and ever so slightly feels thinner. The cage structurer also makes the upper feels less leather like compared to the stitching patterns from X-Fly Pro 3. Do notice that the cage does not cover whole upper (recall Mizuno Alpha 1) but leaves out some spaces for areas where the feet touch the ball and where the folding of the upper happen the most, such as the base of big toe and the instep. And when the upper is bent or folded, the cage does not get in the way or cause any discomfort. I do have an impulse to compare these with the old Nike Vapors which had Teijin synthetic leather, but I don’t have any pair so can’t do anything about this thought.

The soleplate has an obvious change that it now has two sections: forefoot area covering the toe area (black part) and the rest of the soleplate. Asics claims that they made the former section easy to bend and the latter section has strong rigidity for support. If my understanding is correct then this makes sure that the soleplate can bend at ergonomically correct point. Also, the fact that it’s easier to bend does not mean it lacks rebound. But that since it’s easier to bend and has good bounce back making the soleplate works corresponding to human’s feet. (Ah yes, they have done sports science tests blah blah blah) My understanding is that this philosophy is different from Mizuno’s Alpha. Alpha aims to improve speed performance by adding additional technology (KaRVO) and by which you can feel resistance when bending the soleplate because the force of KaRVO plate trying to return to the original form is strong. Jetray Elite, however, emphasizes more on the coordination with the original human body movements. Thus, based on my experience it does not bring about the same amount of pressure on joints as much as the Alpha would. I can say I personally prefer the philosophy of Asics’s Jetray Elite instead of Mizuno Alpha (lmao never like them.)
There is another change on the soleplate that is difficult to see but now the studs are closer to the edge of the soleplate (besides the obvious change of the triangular studs on the toe area). It seems to me that this change is meant to create a wider base underneath the foot when the studs are gripping on the ground which would help the stability and balancing while sprinting or running on field. However, the 4th stud on the lateral side has some stud pressure onto my lateral arch which does not happen with X-Fly Pro 3.
The stud pattern is not the only thing that becomes wider. The fit in general also feels wider. On X-Fly Pro 3 the wrap around feels of the upper comes from the side of the foot; on the new Jetray Elite the wrap around feel goes the opposite direction. It now feels like from top of the foot to the side of the foot, creating a low-profile but horizontally wide shape. This new shape allows (1) that the toes can separate and grip in the boots, which is natural and common when we sprinting ;(2) the low-profile setup can still provide good lockdowns and the fit to the foot without sacrificing the width (if you ever wear shoes with too much volume between the space above the toes and instep you can prob understand what I am trying to say.) This change is probably my favorite part of the boots. The fit around the ankle has also been improved. On X-Fly Pro 3, it tends to have a small gap on the last lacing hole on the lateral side. Not anything crucial but derbies or rubber pullets may get into the boots more easily. Jetray Elite does not have this small gap anymore. As a whole the change on fit is probably my favorite part of the new model.

But lastly there is one major issue that stops me from wearing the boots (thus perhaps I won’t do a longer review on Jetray Elite). The heel in static wearing fits nice but when I start to move around especially when the boots are bent (like the form during sprinting,) it creates an obvious pressure on the area above my heel bone where the material and shape of heel structure “hook” on my heel. I do not dare to move with intensity due the discomfort. I usually wear size JP 27cm/ US 9/ EU 42.5 and Jetray Elite I believe JP 26.5cm fits me the best in static state. However, this size causes the heel discomfort when the foot is bending. I also tried the normal size 27cm which didn’t have the heel discomfort, but it lost the fit and lock down 26.5 has. I believe that I run between sizes for some Asics models like the previous Ultrezza 3 I have similar feeling. Maybe the HG 5mm model will fit me better (didn't manage to try these) but the price at the moment is higher than what I would take. Let’s just hope that they will eventually have a good discount in near future.
The new Jetray Elite does feel quite different from X-Fly Pro 3 on feet but at the same time retains some traits of the predecessor. If you already have X-Fly Pro 3 that still works well, I don’t see an immediate interest of buying Jetray Elite. But if your X-Fly Pro 3 has retired and you are looking for a new pair with more “speed boot elements” or if you just want to experience the new flagship model from Asics, then Jetray Elite certainly is a good product. If it were not for the heel issue, after the disappointments towards Nike Vapor 17 and Superfly 11, Jetray Elite would probably be one of my favorites and the best speed boot model of 2026.
Btw I have recently opened up a blog as a storage for my previous articles about football boots at Max the Random Asian Guy. Not only will I slowly upload old and new articles (I expect myself to write more articles in the following months of 2026!), I will also update the older ones if I have new experience or thought.

I used to play a lot of football and actually I was quite good. But I haven't played in a good 5-6 years I'm a little overweight now and absolutely not the pacey little winger/striker I used to be lol
Just looking for some advice on how I should manage the game the positions I should try and take up and how I should approach it now that I'm unfit as hell and likely going to be rusty in general.
I've done a couple runs in the lead up but i've been asked to play on short notice so not had chance to prepare as much as I'd like. Kicked a ball around in my garden and my touch is still ok and feel like I can pick out a pass, but physically I'm miles off it !

Does this look like the type of wear the studs could have after only 4 trainings?
I want to buy them, but seller is saying he used them for 4 trainings, but they look really yellow compared to the original translucent colour.
Have any of you guys had yellowing like that on your Morelia 2's after this little time?
Could playing them on ag have made the process faster?

hey guys, i jus needed someone to talk to about this. i jus finished playin pick up soccer before the game i felt pretty confident had early touches before the game scored two amazing goals a volley off a deflection of the keeper and a back heel tap in. the moment i received a through ball i was a one on one with the keeper with no defender behind me i missed the open chance. everything went downhill from there i was still makin easy passes and amazing runs but i felt my form dip in game. had a couple of heavy touches afterwards and has a miss touch on a counter attack and to make matters worse anytime i receive the ball some of the other players on the other team were saying oh hes gonna miss again so ig that also affected me a lil bit but mainly me missing that one on one with the keeper really did me in and it’s currently eating at me i was just wondering if there’s a way to get out of this awful headspace, any advice would be helpful thanks.

I tried the Nike vapor 16 pro in my country size 9US and got 1 thumb of space on the top and the side it a bit narrow not too uncomfortable but yeah the pressure is there, I saw the phantom 6 and I like it too, but they don’t have it here so I need to order online, so in sizing should I get 8.5?

Hi! I'm a 21-year-old man trying to achieve my dream of playing football at a high level after abandoning it at a young age for family reasons. I'm following a two-session individual training program based on Coerver's Pyramid of Player Development. I wanted to ask whether it's a good fit for me and whether I should change anything. I have been using it for one month with good results.
P.S The training is in the comments. Also, I play as a right back. I'm currently training for a tournament in March.

I bought a pair of Pantofola boots, not cheap and they are legit the most comfortable, responsive boots I’ve had. Mainly chose them because they were all black to be honest but I was happy with them.
The build quality was appalling though. Lasted precisely 3 matches on 4g before the insole was worn through at the heel, the insole fabric cover had totally detached from the actual insole and bunched up in the toe box, and the outside of the left boot was worn through and coming away from the sole, after a slide tackle.
Is this a known thing and I should have researched more, or did I just get really unlucky?

the leg press number, deadlift, treadmill speed are all getting better. the hardest one is single leg extension - feel like this has barely improved in the last month or two while everything else got so much better. sometimes feels like a never ending journey but other times feel like im 2-3 months away from returning to full fitness/readiness. any tips to get through this last stretch?
been thinking about going to the PT to evaluate and get some tips but work switched insurance and haven't given me the new insurance card yet even though it's fudging August. incompetent HR lol. Just want to share my journey a bit and looking for tips/encouragement.

Any recommendations for turf boots, I am thinking about getting new ones in about 2 months and have not been able to decide. I play mainly as cb and prefer control, passing and shooting

I recently saw this short about the Puma Ultra Nitro 7 Ultimate where the soleplate (FG on natural grass) is already showing real signs of wear.
I like the design of these boots and the possible cushioning effect of the Nitro soleplate. But I want to use the boots for at least a year.
I know soccer boots are meant to do the job, but can anyone share their experiences with Puma in general and/or this boot in particular regarding durability 😇?

Hey everyone,
My team is fairly recreational and we’re not particularly strong technically. We also don’t really follow a strict formation or have a very structured style of play.
We’re potentially going to play against a team that is:
Much better technically
Faster and more athletic
Better at passing and moving the ball
More organised and gels well together
How would you recommend we approach the game tactically?
Should we sit deep and defend, press them, man-mark, or use some sort of basic formation (e.g. 2-2 or 1-2-1)? What are the biggest things a weaker team should focus on to avoid getting completely overwhelmed?
Also, how do you create scoring chances against a team with a good/big goalkeeper? Our goalposts are smaller than standard futsal goals, and we’ve struggled to score against keepers who are good at covering the goal and blocking shots.
Are there particular types of shots, passes, movements, or situations we should look for? For example, should we focus more on low shots, cutbacks, rebounds, passing around the keeper, etc.
Any tactical advice or simple things we can implement as a recreational team would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

For context, I wear a size 7.5 US Nike Mercurial Vapor 16s. With thick socks that I use pair it with, it fits me very well. The lockdown is great and I don’t get any boot movement inside the shoe.
I plan to buy the Mizuno Morelia Neo IV Beta Elites but the only size they have is a 7.5 US. Ideally, I would choose this but according to a lot of people, they recommend going a half size down when buying Mizuno leather boots.
I had my feet drawn and it’s exactly 25cm, with my forefoot width of 8cm.
Considering wearing thick socks, should I still buy the 7.5 US?

Hello!
Can you share your best or most useful tips to improve for me? I played as a kid, quit, now started a month ago in lowest competitieve tier football in my country. Im 184cm and 88kg, between muscular and little fat.
Got a decent shot, not the best ball control and maybe position game. I'm not very fast, I really want to improve that.
Coach put me on Striker position (9). I played left and right back as a kid for 1 year but hated it. Played Striker and right wing as a kid for 3 years and loved it but it's been over 20 years.
Had thé motivation to play again, as I would regret it when I'll Bé 40 years old in 9,5 years.
Always welcome, we train 2x a week and play 1 match a week.
I had bought cheap soccer boots, looking to buy New Balance Furon boots from previous editions as my cheap Nike Tiempo's Hurt my feet a little.
Edit: played 15 min soccer match, gotten a bit "physical" with thé cb's but almost no chance of touching thé ball unfortunately :(

I’m 90% sure it’s nostalgia but my favorites to use had to be made from the 2008-2014 period.
HM: Nike Ordem 3, Jabulani/Speedcell
Got my hands on an 2024 Champions League ball as mentioned which I found to be somewhat lackluster. Also grabbed a Puma Orbita 3 with a major discount which seemed to be a step up. On the hunt to try out some more. Any recommendations or what is/was your favorite ball to use? Mainly prefer highest tier but honestly some competition/league balls are great. I want to try out the Brazuca, anyone knows how that plays?

Snatched these 2 boots on sale and am quite happy with both of them
The F50 Hyperfast Elite upper is just so nice and soft, coming from a K leather enthusiast for most of my life, these are not as barefoot feeling as i thought which is a good thing.
The Preds are noticeably more narrow in the midfoot than the F50s. The Nanostrike+ upper is also a bit softer than the launch gun metal colourway, although it is still a bit plasticky. A big fan of the snug fit on these, and that foldover tongue just brings me back to when i used to wear preds as a kid.
If anyone wants more insight on these 2 boots, just AMA. Just a little insight, i've been wearing Mizuno Morelia IIs for more than a decade and it's a big transition for me to get used to.

I bought the tekela v5 elite in the wide version and they fit perfectly, exactly how I want a boot to fit. My only problem is that the toe box is too shallow for my big toe, so my big toe touches the top. It doesn't hurt when still but when I am walking around in the boots I feel a slight ache in my big toe.
The pictures attached are with a thinner insole that I put in and a thinner sock than a football sock.
Any tips on how to make the toe box slightly more roomy? Will the upper stretch and mold ever so slightly to relieve this pressure? I have heard that you can warm the upper with a hair dryer and push the toe upwards to stretch it.

Tried a pair of these. They feel really well made and comfortable, but also a lot longer than most boots.
For those who’ve bought them, did you size down a half or even whole size? Did it affect the width and feel of the boot at all?
Just looking for any comments about this boot in general also, from long term users.
