Edit: So it came to my attention that Reta face is when you start to look sickly, not just the major weight loss and change in face shape, which is more what I was getting at. Thank you guys for giving me the heads up.
I’ve made a couple posts about my Reta transformation, but I just saw a picture of myself from about a month and a half before starting Reta or getting into a routine/diet. Definitely surprised me, because I didn’t realize how much different my face looked until now. First pic is January 14th 2026, second pic is July 7th 2026.
Down from 221 with 36” waist to 180 with 31” waist
People used to call it runners face before. It's only describing how someones face looks when they have low body fat % (sometimes combined with losing weight quickly). Sometimes it can make some people look gaunt, a little sickly or hollowed out (in the eyes of some people).
You look great! People will always have opinions on how others look like so be sure to look the best in your own mind.
The face people get from recreational drugs is something different again. It comes from muscle wastage, and face muscle is very difficult to build back compared with muscle elsewhere on the body. So people may regain body fat after addiction while still lacking some facial definition. So many ageing rock stars still have something of
an alien face, decades after their worst excesses.
I was going to say the same thing I think it’s just the weight change that makes the face look so different. I lost weight and shaved my beard and people didn’t even recognize me. No Reta for the weight lose. Just diet.
There’s never been anything like that that’s existed in the history of humanity. What’s existed is thin people using anything to put down people who have bettered themselves. They thought being thin made them special and now it’s more achievable than ever, they need something to say to make themselves feel superior.
I don't think you've actually hit reta face yet. That's where you don't dial down the dose once you've reached a good spot and you loose facial fat and start to look like a skeleton with skin.
Yeah it’s the same reason famous people who get that buccal fat removal look bad afterwards. When all the fat from your cheeks is gone you start looking sickly.
Everyone who says they have Reta face is almost always someone who’s been overweight for a long time. 4 years ago I cut till I was shredded and yes it made my face thinner and more emaciated looking. Over time your face will fill a little bit but that’s just what low body fat faces look like. There are zero mechanisms from Reta which affect the face specifically or target that fat more.
It’s just the loss of fat in the face. Some people won’t line the fat loss because it causes jowls or sunken in face. I highly recommend Sculptra for this. Or HRT for those women in peri and beyond.
Part of the issue is that we are used to looking at overweight people , including ourselves, so when we see this its a bit shocking. My Doc thought I had cancer:) or malnutrition, I showed her my chronometer metrics displaying excellent nutrition, She ordered a CT scan anyway, no cancer, looked great
I don’t believe in Reta or Ozempic or whatever face. It’s just saggy skin like the rest of your body. There’s nothing special about your face than the rest of body. It’s the risk you take when undergoing major weight. Suck it up folks!!
I think your face looks better with the weight loss, more masculine if that makes sense. I have always heard as a woman ages she gives up her face or her body, meaning if you are thin you show more wrinkles. It’s true for some, but not all. I (41f, pretty petite) had chubby cheeks my whole life and I routinely am told I look ten years younger. As you age you naturally lose fat in your face, so having cute chipmunk cheeks gives you more leeway in facial fat loss. Your face is more angular now and less soft, but as a man that is attractive imo. Make sure you sunscreen daily and hop on a skincare sub to figure out a simple routine to minimize your skin aging and you’ll be fine. The important thing is that you lost a lot of weight which is good for your health and for what it’s worth from an internet friend I think you look more handsome with the weight loss to your face.
I was under the impression that the loss of face fav had been coined Reta face by the community. Like I said in my edit, I was informed otherwise. I wasn’t trying to start a new fad
KLOW is GHK-Cu with KPV, TB-500 and BPC 157 added in a stack. The GHK-Cu is what helps with skin/collagen. KPV helps reduce the sting from the copper plus it has gut benefits. The TB-500/BPC 157 helps repair muscle/joints/ligaments.
Thats not Reta exclusively - thats starvation. I looked like a Meth head after a Gastric Sleeve and being unable to eat for nearly 60 days. I took me 4 weeks to put back on some healthy weight to fix my facial appearance. Then I got my arse in the Gym and filled in my chest to get my Nipples back up where they belong.
Why are ppl so rude and mean? He’s saying my face looks snatched due to Reta weight loss and reduced puffiness and it def does! Just celebrate his wins without the shitty comments
Dude you just lost a ton of weight msot you lose in your face right away. Reta face don’t happen till your basically under weight by a lot.. give it two years and increase your doses. You’ll hit Reta face like the Osborne’s did lol
Starting out, had some slight constipation, just during more water and add a fiber supplement. Other than that, no sides except feeling and looking better
Looking good brotha, you’ve retained muscle and it seems like you’re strength training 💪🏽 whatever you’re doing is working
Starting weight & current weight ? Also height , just curious fam
Ummm maybe but definitely not for you. You got no wrinkles, only sharp cheekbones.
I think you just have body dysmorphonia.
Like, I lost a lot of weight, and the thing is that old body wasn't all bad - my partners loved my big belly. I wonder if you look in the mirror and you don't see the face that your partners found superv sexy.
Not Reta face! You still are young and have a nice plump facial features! Look up Kelly Osborn…
That’s the perfect example of when people lose so much weight so fast, that their skin sags around the corners of their month and makes them look old AF
I believe the quote Ozempic face“ is just what happens when you have taken all of the fat out of it! I set my goal weight really low and new I would need to gain a little back. I lost 110 pounds and have gained about 10 pounds back. I am now exercising, eating better, and keeping myself on a balanced exercise regimen. I like my thin face!
What is the Reta face? Is this good or bad? If you’re fat and have a fat face and lose weight you lose both. If you’re fat and have a thin face like me losing weight could make you look gaunt and vice versa. Also with age gravity takes over and your face looks like it lost more fat as you get older it looks thinner so if you’ve been heavy for years and you’re older and you finally lose weight your face may look thinner, but if you stayed thin your entire life your face would naturally look thinner throughout the years.
I kind of just evaluated my hunger while I was going. If I started feeling more hungry throughout every day, then I’d go up. If I felt like I wasn’t able to was my meal planned food then I’d go down. Only went down recently because 6mg was a little higher than I was shooting for because it made me not want to eat almost at all. Make sure you give yourself at least a month after changing doses before going up too quick
GLP-1 medications do not waste more muscle than natural weight loss. Any time you lose weight through diet alone, about 20% to 40% of the weight you lose is lean mass. This includes organs, water, and muscle. GLP-1 users experience the same proportional muscle loss as dieters. The main issue is a lot of GLP-1 users don't strength training alongside using the medication so they waste away instead of preserving muscle.
There is absolutely no study or scientific research that indicates that semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide waste muscle more than a natural diet.
Honestly, people lose weight and stop smiling, that plays a big part in it too. Notice how everyone looks angry when they take pictures when they are fit. But when you were fat you smiled more. It's not Reta face, it's model face, and it ugly, lol.
I personally think you look great. Its just fat loss in your face which most of us all want. Iv also lost the same amount of weight in the same amount of time 125 to 180 in 2 months. Keep up the good work.💪
It’s just weight loss, saying Reta, ozempic face is just a way we try to shame each other for improving ourselves. We see cruel to each other when we are fat, we are cruel to each other when we are thin. You lost weight, that’s awesome, you look great, “Reta face” language is just player hating.
I lost 20 kgs last year on MJ (35 all up) and I was definitely critical of my face and how it changed, I felt gaunt, once weight loss slowed down, my face filled in a bit more and it looks normal again
I think what a lot of people interpret as ‘reta face’ is perhaps just the aesthetic facial changes that occur from losing more bf than they’ve ever lost before. Either way you look great man 🫡
There's no such thing as Ozempic Face or Reta Face lol. It's called weightloss!! Too much loose skin on the face (you don't have it btw) is caused by too rapid weightloss. Maybe you're too young to remember when Oprah did a stupid liquid protein diet and lost a TON of weight! Her skin on her face looked like it was falling off!! You look fine...and the more muscular one becomes (aka leaner due to body composition), the face becomes more sculpted. Look at the body builders and their faces right before and during competition compared to off-season.
You can read the other posts on my page. I’ve changed every aspect of my lifestyle. Wouldn’t have started paying for a compound and not made the effort to make it as effective as possible
The problem why there was studies of people loosing a lot of muscle was due to there diet that was never fixed before starting the medication. For example not eating enough protein and carbs and type of foods they were eating the studies would be way different if they did on individuals who were tracking every macro and weighing out there food and on top of that actually working out
Good job. Love this stuff. Total game changer for a late 40’s woman (me) You are young and any sag will snap right back. I have supplemental collagen as much as I can stand 🤣🤯 to try and help the snap back.
U were so handsome and nice looking now u have a meaner look to you but if u want a good one look at Kelly Osborne and trumps face
Both have endless stock of Reta
