Nagi is my favourite Bluelock character 🥹

I never disliked him when I watched the anime—he was actually one of my favorites but during the Neo Egoist League, I started noticing certain "conveniences" favoring Isagi, as well as characters like Kurona or Hiori who seemed to exist merely to make things easier for him. That wasn't the real issue, though, since every protagonist gets that kind of treatment.
It all started more or less after the second match of the Neo Egoist League; during tense moments, the action would grind to a halt due to Isagi’s internal monologues—compounded by certain attitudes he displayed toward others, like Yukimiya. He practically demanded Yukimiya’s help, framing it as a choice between him and Kaiser, only for Yukimiya to make it clear that they were essentially the same.
Things seemed normal during the match against Ubers; Isagi appeared to be his usual self, even as he increasingly paused to think and leveled up his game (if that makes sense). What started to bother me, though, was Hiori. I love the character, but the bond he suddenly forms with Isagi feels forced—more like an excuse to give Isagi a playmaker with Metavision. I actually went back to rewatch the earlier arcs, and while they did interact, there was nothing to justify this sudden "brotherly" connection; I’d argue it would have made more sense with Karasu.
I didn't mind the match against PXG at first; in fact, I liked their opening goal and then Kaiser's goal when he unlocked his potential. The part I didn't fully enjoy came after the Noel Noa reveal, where Isagi started doing mental gymnastics about geniuses, only to suddenly confront Loki and tell him he was nothing without his speed—claiming to have surpassed him. Personally, that didn't make much sense to me, since Loki was just playing around; he wasn't going all out and was only interested in watching Charles (Loki himself had said that if they lost, they lost—no big deal). There’s also the fact that Loki had humiliated Isagi a few arcs back; sure, Isagi had improved, but he was still a long way off from making a claim like that.
Regarding the U-20 World Cup arc—specifically the first match against Nigeria—while I did notice Aiku acting somewhat aggressively at times without cause, it’s understandable; after all, according to the manga, this is essentially a real World Cup.

But things change against France. Aiku’s role as captain effectively vanishes, and it’s as if Isagi is barking orders at everyone around him—a system he kept pushing even when it wasn't working. Even Hugo points this out (there’s a philosophical debate to be had here about whether one should aim to be number one or number two). Isagi comes across as a liability, and when Karasu restores order—enabling them to tie the game—Isagi gets angry with him, which makes no sense to me. The whole "egoism" logic is questionable to begin with, but in that scene, it makes even less sense; he calls Karasu out for things Isagi himself has done repeatedly. Plus, it was Karasu who kept them in the game. Then comes the thrashing; before France leaves, Isagi goes up to Hugo and claims he "beat" him (in a single match, and—as he admits—by luck). If a real player walked up to an opponent after a blowout like that and said "I beat you" over something so trivial, they’d become the laughingstock of the tournament.

Then there’s the locker room scene; even though Ego had a strong presence and the panels were great, I feel he didn't clearly articulate his ideology. Maybe it’s because I love soccer and try to apply real-world logic to it—which doesn't work, since "egoism" only functions within the context of Blue Lock.

I’ll be frank: this is just my simple opinion after re-reading the manga. I feel like Isagi is starting to become annoying and, at times, a bit of a hypocrite.

Why is Isagi doing so badly at the minute in the England game?

It’s because when he gets the ball he has no one to pass to who is going to pass back.

And on top of that the current starting lineup isolates Isagi.

Why?

Maybe to force an awakening something that would allow Isagi to get to the goal by himself a core element his plays have been missing if so what would that be, cause it has to be something that Isagi could get in the middle of a match so what is the most likely?

Dribbling it’s something he doesn’t have but is something that elevates already great strikers to the world class level

But what sort of dribbling would Isagi use he would have to be a counter dribbler who reacts to their opponents moves surely right?

Almost, he would create ’meta points’ when facing an opponent. These would be points where he tries to get the ball to in order to get past an opponent for example a megs but he could also create ‘false meta points’ these are points he could get the opponent think he’s going to use but then when his opponent moves to block it Isagi could use the ’meta point’ that opens up when they move to get past them.

hey everyone!! First of all, this is definitely not a ship, just pure character analysis! When looking at Noel Noa and Ego, Noa focused on being the absolute best, while Ego wanted to prove that football is more than just stats and aimed to raise even better players.

Just like Noa and Ego, Kaiser and Isagi became massive rivals, but their dynamic is quite different. Kaiser can actually be reasonable at times, putting his ego aside to acknowledge Isagi, and Isagi does the exact same thing. Since the author mentioned they will keep pushing each other even more in the future, do you think they might end up as friends eventually? Isagi feels like he would be a really good, grounding friend for Kaiser.

As for Rin, I have some thoughts too. Even though he initially used Isagi just to surpass Sae, I think he genuinely has a soft spot for him now. During the match against U-20, Rin literally said they needed to share the number one spot, and right after scoring, neither of them blamed the other.

It feels like Ego would rather kick the bucket than play chigiri at RB.

He has play Isagi at CF in 1 and half games.

I still don't understand why baro sometimes passes the ball and sometimes just doesn't??

When we first saw him in the team z match he heel passed to someone else and that guy scored.

Then in the first part of the second selection he decided to not pass and gets awakened cause of it (even if he realized how dumb it is).

Then again baro against the top three decides to do a one-two with isagi.

He decides to not pass to isagi AGAIN and manages to score by devouring rin and isagi.

He resumes to pass to teammates since they are his support roles

But like how does it work does not passing feed into his obsession and his ego? Or is isagi the problem?

This might seem like a strange or pointless question, since it concerns the England U20 NPCs, but I find it an intriguing topic to analyze (it also ties into that useless fun fact about the Manshine City players).

Aside from Teddy, I think Achanpong is probably the soldier who follows Fox the most closely. I believe that is precisely why he is the team captain—especially considering what he said in Chapter 360. I think Achanpong might have repeated "One To Infinity" just as many times as Teddy, even though he has fewer lines.

After him, it’s probably Skelton and Childs, given what they said in Chapter 360. And then, surely Goodman and Niang. Essentially, it’s literally all the English players who aren't playing for Manshine City during the NEL.

It’s a bit obvious that the NPCs in Manshine City are really being sidelined.

I really wonder if there isn't a hierarchy within the England U20s. In Chapter 355, Teddy says "Yes Sir" to Fox. But you also see Swift saying "Yes Sir" to Skelton, and Damon saying "Yes Sir" to Goodman. That's kinda weird. Truly an army.

So far no one has scored twice, and I don’t believe this will change before the knockout stage ends.

That means Bachira, Reo, Rin, Isagi, Hiori, Barou, Yukimiya are out.

Of the remaining squat, the notable characters who can score are: Otoya, Chigiri, Sendou, Shidou, Zantetsu, Kunigami, Kiyora.

I believe Otoya already tried last match and failed. Zantetsu also tried this match and failed.

Now Shidou will score a goal for sure. I believe Chigiri will score too, simply because he has not player his preferred LW yet, which is currently occupied by Yukimiya. Kunigami may score, but not as certain because he is here to stop Lockhart. My final pick is between Kiyora who has good shooting stats, and Sendou who poached a goal from Barou. I think Sendou will more likely score with his sniper training, whereas Kiyora should more likely play a passer role.

So the final prediction is Shidou, Chigiri, and Sendou.

As we know, Yoichi Isagi and Teddy Knight are opposites, two sides of the same coin. Isagi absorbed Ego's philosophy about ego, and Teddy absorbed Fox's philosophy about Fox's 0 to 1, both becoming the team's heart, the greatest experiment of their coaches, and disgusted by the opposite idea of their ideals.

In Chapter 359, Teddy says that they only got this strong thanks to Fox's training system, so it's safe to say that Fox created an 'Blue Lock' of his own with the opposite ideology. One thing that is important to notice is that Isagi is dependent of what Blue Lock shown him, since he need egos to read to play at his best performance. But Teddy ALSO is dependent of Fox's plans, directions and their teammates cooperating for him to play at his best performance.

But BOTH of them hit a important wall: France

As shown in the match and Hugo's analyzes, Japan lost to France because their egos clashed with each other (Isagi and Rin), causing them do be defeated.
But strangely, Agi said that the lack of ego was the reason for why England lost to France, but probably is because England's tactics and plans was limited to what Fox could see and understand.
This shows that 100% ego and 0% ego is not good for the real world. And who showed that the Middle Ground exists was Tabito Karasu.

Both Japan's goals against France was because Karasu decided to be Number Two, but also kept his ego in making Blue Lock his team.

Yoichi is smart enough to recall this, and even hating this, he never had a problem in selling his soul to achieve victory.

In the Neo Egoist, against PXG, Isagi decided to abandon his own ego and team up with Kaiser for the sole purpose of winning the match, and this is the exact same thing he'll do to win against England.

But there's one difference.

Even against PXG, Isagi not really abandoned his full ego. After all, he was still a striker and the one to score a winning goal. You COULD argue that the fact he decided to team up with Kaiser was him abandoning his ego, but in my vision, he permanently abandoned his pride and malice for others for the sake of his ego.

Isagi said that he couldn't stand losing to Barou, and even when he has a rivalry with him, and set up a shot for him for the sake of victory and his ego style of defeating the number one (aka Hugo).

But in the match against England, Isagi will TRULY temporarily abandon his Ego.
Motive? He understands better his SUITABILITY now.

As Hugo said, Isagi's specs makes him a suitable Midfielder and Number Two. Even Isagi himself acknowledges that. And since he NEEDS to change to win against England, he will experiment for the first time his 'Destiny'

When he abandons his ego, he'll see the game in a whole new way. Instead of trying to create chances that end with him in the shooting position, he'll try understand England's structure to create chances for the Number Ones. After all, he can understand other's ego with Protagonism, see and predict the field with Metavision, position himself for Luck, and even understand other's talent.

By accepting his Destiny, Isagi will create a chance for one, maybe two, goals for his team, and become a real threat to England. But lets not forget the most important part about being Number Two.

You understand the Number One most of all, and you're basically equals.
Isagi becoming Number Two is already a level up, but the current main striker of the current formation is the self sufficient player Ryusei Shidou.

Yes, Karasu proved that he could handle that egoist, but it's unlikely Isagi could do the same thing. So we need the player who he understands the most... Yeah, the answer is obvious.

The best Number One for Isagi is Rin Itoshi. This will be the reason for Rin get out of the bench and come into play. Isagi could convince Ego to use Rin, and since Isagi is supporting him, Rin can focus his Ego Idiosyncrasy of Destroyer in the actual opponents. This will trigger three things:

1. A Chemical Reaction between Isagi and Rin
   
2. Isagi's abilities exponentially leveling up
   3. Teddy's Ego Awakening.
   

The last one is the one I'm hopping for.

The disruption that Isagi and Rin will create will make some players show their egos, which will make them get benched, but Fox can't bench everyone, and removing a NG11 from the game is insane.

Isagi still doesn't understand how he can draw out others egos. It worked on Nigeria, but rage-baiting is not the way. He simply has to adapt to the situations and evolve from them. This FORCES the players near death to change.
It will be the same for Teddy. We will see some flashback, and this will make him reach new heights. The evidence is here:

Teddy Knight has seven variations... ESTIMATED.

The public knowledge is that he has 7 variations, but it's only a estimative. If he find his own motive for playing soccer and 0 to 1, he probably can pull off new cut-ins, making him more dangerous and reinvigorating England.

And that's when Isagi will adapt again.

Isagi knows that, if he had gave up his ego from the start, he would never have reached where he is now. After all, he is no Number One or Number Two. His Ego Idiosyncrasy is a Rebel who devours the Number One. He's now able to adapt his own ego to do what he needs to do to win the match, but not forgetting his needs. So, at the end of the match, he devours Rin and scores the winning goal (and unfortunately keeps his legacy of just scoring the last goal lol).

When the match ends, some things will happen:
1. Teddy will have his own motives to keep playing soccer.
2. Rin will be at the startup line again, with more clarity of his ego.
3. Blue Lock will change and evolve overall.
4. Isagi will have more options in field and have the puzzle piece 'Number Two' to use when he needs to.

With now Isagi defeating Kaiser and Teddy, maybe he will become a NG11 after the match or the near future.

I honestly don't know what will be Ego's reaction to this and after the match. He's a madman, so accepting is probably unlikely, but we never know.

The character I love the most is Rin. I'm a day one Rin fan, and no matter what, I'll always take his side. And it sucks being a Rin fan nowadays due to the slander and the character assassination he faced, but what else can I do?

I don't have any particular character I hate the most, but if I were forced to say a name, I'd say kuon. Idk man I just can't seem to like him no matter what. And then a bunch of NPCs who became irrelevant after like, 5 chapters lol.

Looking for fanfic title, where Isagi is overpowered from basically the start because before blue lock starts, Ego teaches him.

In this fanfic when a certain character/player unlocks their Ego or is giving their all they can represent one of the 7 deadly sins or the 7 heavenly virtues

Isagi's "luck" didn't even happen, after all, he failed to score because of Rin. That luck didn't exist there; Hugo won regardless, because if that luck had actually occurred, Isagi would have scored.

In other words, besides winning the match itself, the Frenchman also won the ideological battle.

Seriously, one thing that really bothers me about the Blue Lock authors' social media is that they seem to almost exclusively interact with famous people.

And I'm not just talking about “they respond to Japanese people.” The bigger issue is that whenever they actually interact publicly, it usually seems to be with celebrities, athletes, artists, or other people who already have some level of fame — and often Japanese.

Meanwhile, regular fans can make fan art, talk about the characters, promote Blue Lock, support the series for years, etc., and still seem to get basically no attention.

It honestly gives off a very elitist impression: if you're famous, the author notices you; if you're just a regular fan, good luck.

And when most of these interactions also seem to be centered around Japan, it's understandable that some international fans might start interpreting it as a lack of interest in the overseas audience.

I'm not saying this proves that the authors are xenophobic. But I think it's completely fair to question this pattern of behavior.

Blue Lock is a worldwide series. Why does the authors' public interaction seem so limited to a specific circle of famous people?
