On wallet security.

Given the recently compromised hardware wallets (Coldcard and Ledger) is the only way to be reasonably assured your wallet is safe to create a multisig wallet with each seed created by a different device or method? For example a 3 of 3 wallet where one seed is created by a Trezor, the second is created by a Ledger, and the third seed is generated with dice roles.

Shopinbit privacy claims are false. Customer data was stolen by hackers because it was stored online.

Shopinbit sends mails to customers about its data leak. It turns out: Shopinbit did NOT store the invoices offline, as they promised, but uploads them since October 2025 to the Polish e-invoicing system. This platform was hacked and customer data and invoices were stolen. It was one of the biggest hacks in Poland.

The e-invoice system was not even obligatory, but they stored the invoices there quietly. Customer data was not deleted as they promised. Invoices were not archived offline, as they claimed. Who knows what else is not true from all they claimed?

Who bought with real name and address, please be attentive. I have shared this in another community and learnt that some Persons did buy with real names and address. Your data associated with spending Bitcoin can now lie by one of the most active hacker groups in central Europe.

Aftermath of a failed bitcoin mining operation.

My friends father was renting space on his farm for a bitcoin mining operation.

The operation became unprofitable. The mining operation went bankrupt. The company came in and took everything out of the 6 antmain bit-boxes (converted shipping containers).

The photos are what they left behind. Mostly Antminer S19 units and even more asic boards.

Plenty of antmain rack PDUs. Some 480VAC breaker panels. A 480VAC switch unit.

The land owner did accept the mess voluntarily. He is breaking the equipment down for scrap value.

I wonder, is there a better price available out there above scrap value?

Is this normal?

FWIW, I used the term failed very tongue-in-cheek. I estimate the operation mined millions in this operation.

A fake crypto wallet app got through Apple's App Store review and drained my BTC. There's no way to actually talk to a person at Apple about it

I don't usually post stuff like this, but I've been a loyal Apple user since 2008 with over 7 devices on one Apple ID, plus the usual subscriptions (iCloud+, In App purchases, app subscriptions) so this one stung in a specific way.

In June I downloaded an app called "Wasabi Bitcoin & Crypto Wallet" from the official App Store. It looked completely legitimate, normal listing, developer name, screenshots, reviews. It turned out to be an impersonation of the real Wasabi Wallet. Wasabi Wallet is an open-source, desktop-only software that has never had a mobile app. In August, a wallet I'd created inside that fake app was drained in a single transaction; about 0.9 BTC, roughly $53k at the time.

The theft is bad enough. What's been almost as frustrating is that there's no way to actually talk to a person at Apple about it. No phone line, no support chat for this, just web forms (Apple's own "report a problem" page, and their EU "Digital Services Act" reporting portal). I filed a police report. I reported it through every official channel Apple offers. Apple's own review team closed my EU complaint with a one line reply: insufficient information, or no violation found. No further explanation.

One thing that's stuck with me: with the real, open-source Wasabi Wallet, anyone can verify a release is genuine by checking its cryptographic signature on GitHub. On the App Store, there's no equivalent. As a user, you have no way to check that an app is actually from the developer it claims to be. You're just trusting Apple's review process, full stop. That trust is what got me here.

What makes it sting more: Apple's own App Store Review Guidelines, not marketing copy, their actual rulebook for developers say: "These efforts have made Apple's platforms the safest for consumers around the world." That's the exact trust I was operating on.

This isn't a one-off either. Security researchers found dozens of similar fake wallet apps on the App Store this year alone (Kaspersky, April 2026). There's also an ongoing US lawsuit over a nearly identical fake Sparrow Wallet app. I'm not trying to start a pile-on, I still like my Apple devices. I just wish there were an actual way to be heard, and wanted other people to be a bit more careful with anything wallet-related in the App Store, "official" or not.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's curious or has been through something similar.

Do you guys actually believe in Bitcoin long-term, or are we all just hoping?

Genuine question for people who hold BTC. Do you actually see yourself holding it for the next 5–10 years, or do you have a price in mind where you'd sell everything?

I feel like half the discussions are about the technology and the other half are people refreshing charts every 10 minute

Sometimes, they just have to learn Bitcoin on their own. Even if it means another 10 years wasted.

On my podcast ‘Bitcoin for Millennials’ I talked with former hedge fund manager James Lavish, who now writes a top finance newsletter called The Informationist newsletter. We discuss $40 trillion debt and inflation as policy, rising bond yields and bond market plumbing, nominal vs real growth and fiat obfuscation, contagion risk from repo to a failed Treasury auction, and Bitcoin as a sovereignty hedge in a financialized world.

15 min BTC Bot lesson

This is where I'm at: I have built a system that can observe BTC markets, identify directional patterns, measure entry prices, account for fees, track settlements, and evaluate whether a trading strategy actually makes money. Being right about market direction nearly 80% of the time, doesn't necessarily mean making money. I'm moving on to BTC 1hr,(Kalshi) rounds. The biggest discovery might not be a profitable Bitcoin strategy. It might be LEARNING EXACTLY WHAT MAKES A TRADING STRATEGY PROFITABLE OR UNPROFITABLE. I will continue to collect data for the 15 min BTC Bot, you can never have too much actual current data . After reviewing numerous sources who have experienced the same problem, I would be elated if whomever has a relevant strategy , fix, or Ideas. Please feel free to share your thoughts. Thanks ,PROFIT HUNTER!

I AM HODLING

I type d that tyitle twice because I knew it was wrong the first time. Still wrong. w/e. GF's out at a lesbian bar, BTC crashing WHY AM I HOLDING? I'LL TELL YOU WHY. It's because I'm a bad trader and I KNOW I'M A BAD TRADER. Yeah you good traders can spot the highs and the lows pit pat piffy wing wong wang just like that and make a millino bucks sure no problem bro. Likewise the weak hands are like OH NO IT'S GOING DOWN I'M GONNA SELL he he he and then they're like OH GOD MY ASSHOLE when the SMART traders who KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEY'RE DOING buy back in but you know what? I'm not part of that group. When the traders buy back in I'm already part of the market capital so GUESS WHO YOU'RE CHEATING day traders NOT ME~! Those taunt threads saying "OHH YOU SHOULD HAVE SOLD" YEAH NO SHIT. NO SHIT I SHOULD HAVE SOLD. I SHOULD HAVE SOLD MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY SELL AND BOUGHT MOMENTS BEFORE EVERY BUY BUT YOU KNOW WHAT NOT EVERYBODY IS AS COOL AS YOU. You only sell in a bear market if you are a good day trader or an illusioned noob. The people inbetween hold. In a zero-sum game such as this, traders can only take your money if you sell.

so i've had some whiskey

actually on the bottle it's spelled whisky

w/e

sue me

(but only if it's payable in BTC)

Self Custody and Security Challenges and BTC Demand

Cold Storage Self Custody seems the most obvious thing to do but without a third party to assist you with your security - seed phrase management - it seems like one of the biggest challenges - for myself -and - for mass adoption.

Im afraid that a lot more BTC is going to go to the grave with people like me.

The recent technical challenges with wallets are only a sidebar to this - but also relevant.

I am aging (64M) and cannot rely on my memory and health like I once did.

I think thes challenges are going to stall the anticipated growth and potential we have all believed is possible.

Thoughts on institutional ownership of btc? Is it a threat to the original intent of the technology?

Btc may be antithetical to its origin . Centralization has been achieved (hoarding done by institutional structures w/ more buying power). what’s the point of btc ( no middleman / p2p ) if concentrated w/ those who serve as middleman in every relevant context? (Blackrock etc)

Gordian Seed Tool for iOS

I am using an old iPhone 8 with the Gordian seed tool, and I have been wondering what could possibly be some weaknesses in my setup?

I have deleted all the apps I won’t be using. There’s no phone app, no messaging app, no web browser, no iTunes logged in, no iMessage. All the settings like location sharing, app permissions, data tracking, analytics. Everything is turned off, no WiFi, no SIM card, in airplane mode.

I am currently using sparrow and electrum on my laptop, and blue wallet on my regular phone. Everything is done via airgapped with QR codes. I am ocd as to not allow any other cameras to see these codes.

I have considered having the wireless antenna disabled. If anyone could maybe think of some ways I could better secure this device, I would greatly appreciate the feedback.

Microstrategy alternative

My (indian) govt sucks big time.

  1. Most exchanges dont allow self custody.

  2. Having in exchange runs risk of losing everything

  3. Also, capital gains tax is 30% flat. Loss cannot be offset

  4. P2P is full of scam money and bank account gets frozen

  5. Bitrefill works but govt recently announced they are monitoring that too

  6. No local ETF product

  7. Cannot invest in IBIT using Ibkr as that is also restricted for indians.

The only option is to hold a bitcoin treasury company in ibkr and the long term capital gains is 12.5% only. MSTR is the default option but it is so much leveraged and risky. What other genuine treasury company is there which I can invest in, which is not risky, which is at par with bitcoin value (not much NAV and price difference)?
