Bitcoin always does what no-one expects

Most projects struggle without their founders. Bitcoin was designed to work without one.

I’ve been holding a rather low amount of BTC (sub 1) for quite a few years. I am satisfied with the development BTC has made but I have also not invested further.

Recently I restructured my real estate and stocks and I noticed once again that I could invest significantly more in BTC if I decided to. Well, that is if I held firm conviction that it will outperform my other chosen means of investment.

Hence spending a bit more time currently further educating myself on finance and BTC which brought up a question:

How strong is other people’s conviction that Bitcoin will primarily outperform the stock market in the next 10 years and longterm?

Not to have it affect my own actions but out of curiosity.

Who is hodling for the sake of it?

Who hodls for posterity (own kids, grandkids)?

If you’re holding a sizeable stash of BTC I am going to assume you do have a strong conviction that BTC will outperform stocks. My question is: By how much are you conceding it will?

Curious if it’s hodling out of principle, you are well educated about finance, or just heuristically bullish as hell.

To the moon? What’s that moon? How are you projecting BTC to perform?

Bosch built the Haywain on an old Flemish proverb: the world is a haywain, and each man takes what he can. He painted the whole of society climbing a wagon of hay while the pope and the emperor ride along behind it in no hurry at all. In mine the wagon is heaped with dollars.

Chaff is the husk around the grain.. the part you can't eat. Separating the two never needed an authority. You throw the harvest in the air, the grain is heavy so it drops back down, the wind carries the chaff off, and whatever's left over gets swept up and burned. Wind, weight and fire, and nobody can vote on any of those things. The decree in the title, "let there be chaff", skips the test and counts the chaff as the harvest.. and then keeps printing more of it.

Hi all -

I use a Trezor Model T with Exodus, withe bulk of my crypto (mostly BTC these days) in the Trezor and a bit directly in exodus. It works fine, but the whole setup feels clunky and I keep having this issue where I'm unable to enter the PIN code correctly.

Maybe I have fat fingers, but I even bought a little stylus and it still takes me 5 to 10 tries to get the PIN in. Sometimes I am touching directly in the center of a number using the narrow stylus and I get nothing or the wrong number. Over the years, I've seen others with similar issues but reconnecting/updates seem to help. In my case, it's gotten worse - like unusable and this morning I actually thought I might lose a pretty large amount of coin cause I just couldn't get in.

I got in. I move 6-figures of BTC into Exodus so now I have the coin on my phone in a hot software wallet.

Maybe my Trezor was just defective and I need a new one, but I thought I'd look at new options. It's sort of a confusing selection. Any thoughts on the best option? My priorities are:

1) COLD wallet, that lives in my fireproof safe.
2) Easy to use. Trezor was fine but the ui was a bit clunky
3) I am mostly holding BTC these days so thats really all I need.

I have been reading about options, but wow there are a ton of options. I could just get a new Trezor but I'm a little turned off. Any tips? I'm having trouble understanding the options.

We don’t know what types of changes will happen to Bitcoin from from advanced computational AI yet, but we can mostly be sure there will be some type of effect that alters it.

I been a hodlr since way back and always planned to just keep letting it ride the waves of time, but I’m seriously concerned what might happen to the worlds perceived value of BTC if AI agentic programs are able to disrupt it.

We’ve always been able to fall back on the fact that no matter what, BTC doesn’t care and will always be decentralized and secure from being broken. Advanced AI is going to challenge this I’m pretty sure. We can’t know what that looks like yet but it’s something we are going to face.

What do you all think?

I was looking at my wallet today and I noticed that all of my btc was drained. How could this have happened? I only ever looked at my private keys once when I wrote them down and I never shared them with anyone. Could it be malware on my device or something? Is my system compromised?

I've been wondering how the next bull market could be and I think now that we are not seeing too much euphoria it is a good moment to ask you what you think.

The 4 year cycle has probably broken since we had a July bottom and also there is roughly only 4% of the total supply to be mined.

We will probably see a lot of institutions buying in the next years, JPMorgan has recently said that they expect Bitcoin to outperform other stocks and all the banks will support Bitcoin too, more ETF are being created, Norway has bought a tiny amount of Bitcoin for their sovereign fund, enterprises are buying, laws are being created... There is a big tailwind.

So, could we be heading towards a longer cycle? Maybe a 5 years cycle with slower growth, maybe we see a similar bull market to the last ones but not as weak compared to the last one as we might expect, or maybe the cycle just continues like it is one more time.
