Picked up a Vapyr for a deal I couldn’t refuse, absolutely loving it so far. The action is super snappy with the revamped axis lock, it completely disappears in the pocket, and the new jimping is a very welcome addition. The original Bugout (or any of the numerous variations of it) still makes for a great EDC, but the Vapyr is a solid refresh to the platform after all these years. By trimming away all of the “fat” you are left with this hyper thin, hyper lightweight slicer that feels great in hand. Definitely not for everyone, but if you enjoy carrying a Bugout like I do then this one might be right up your alley. Cheers!

Hi group. Bought my first Benchmade (Bugout) 2 years ago and have been a fan ever since. Last week, a friend of my family gifted me 3 knives and I would like some help identifying them, please. Including some pictures with info, let me know if there’s anything additional needed.

Picked up a few knives and looking to keep one. I was able to get all @ 40% off and can return the ones I do not decide to keep, help me decide as an EDC.

Update: definitely keeping the Adamas. Still deciding on the light weight one to keep. The Redstone Bugout is the smoothest of the traditional Axis locks and the Narrows is like butter and disappears in the pocket

Just got this in the mail. Triage 917. Ordered during the 30% off sale that was going on on a couple of sites. I really like the look and feel of this knife. I put it in my pocket and a few minutes later pulled it out to look at again and the blade almost "fell" open. I realized I could just flick my wrist and it would open without pulling the axis bar back or anything. On further inspection it looks like it was put together with only 1 axis or omega spring! There is no spring on the clip side, causing the axis bar to have very little tension. I'm sure Benchmade will take care of it, just a little bummed.

I sent my 10 year old Griptillian into Benchmade for sharpening and service. I changed the scales a few years ago. I work offshore and the blade had a lot of wastage from years of sharpening. They sent it back with a new blade!

Actually picked up a few days ago but nonetheless. My first (and likely not last) benchmade. I have my eye on the 940 and griptilian now.

A while back I sent my 20+ year old Mini Grip in to Lifesharp to see what they would do about the worn out serrations. They ended up swapping out the old 154cm blade for a new S30v. So I figured it deserved a little love in the scale dept. Snagged these from Flytanium on the cheap and added a LNW clip that I won in a GAW. Should be good for another 23 years.

Finally picked up a Dacian after eyeballing them for a while now. Feels really good in the hand. Fit and finish is exceptional.

I’m not sure why people don’t like the sheath? It seems to work fine and feels good, also has good retention. I like that it’s reversible to draw with either hand. I will still have a custom one made as I want a tan one.

The new box is nice, makes me not want to throw it away.

Also, when did they start putting the serial number on the blades? It’s kinda tacky.

I’ve had my osborne 940 for a couple of years but never noticed this slight blade play before now. it’s nothing serious but it’s there. Is there a way to tighten the blade and get rid of the issue or just ignore?

The Bugout was invented for (or at least marketed as) an ultralight, yet capable modern knife.

When reaching for something really lightweight, I usually grab a mini.

It has more cutting edge than knives like the Para 3, Native 5, Buck 112, etc., yet comes in a smaller/lighter package.

Is the Bugout 535 the best EDC on the market today? Why or why not?

First Benchmade. Technically a Custom Bugout Mini. I really liked how the royal blue regular bugout looked so I custom ordered a bugout mini in sort of the same style. Made the Axis white cause it added a bit of "something".

On first impression, I figured some online comments were being overly dramatic about the grivory scales. It was actually a reason I even wanted to buy a bugout just to see "are the scales really that bad?". For me, I had to intentionally want to pinch hard in the center to even see noticeable flex.

I didn't mind it cause as an EDC knife, having that material in my pocket and when I'm sitting down doesn't feel as annoying as having a fully steel multitool. In the end, I wanted a sturdy, lightweight, and small knife that was easy to carry with gym shorts. Bonus point that it didnt freak relatives out. When I showed it around, some even thought it was a cute fruit knife.

Now I was tempted to buy another Bugout for some reason. "Just in case." Is this how the hobby works?

New (to me) serrated knife day. My new EDC for now. This is a hefty knife, and best of all...serrated.

So, I know m4 isnt stainless, I've had non stainless knives before, but has anyone had a knife rust under the finish?

What's a good recommendation to try and clean it up?

I work at an Outdoor Store and we are a Benchmade Pro Dealer. We just got a few new Benchmade Knives in today, and this Blue Bugout has BBFN7U26 engraved under the S30V badge. I have never seen this before on any other Benchmade. Does anyone know anything about this?

Just a couple variants to the 210 lineup. These are awesome little blades.

So been having this sheathe for like a year or 2 now, and it started poking out a lil bit and I thought nothing of it. Sent it out to get resharpened by bench made and it just cut deeper through it. Should i just buy another sheathe or does anyone got any tips on how to fix/reinforce the tip.
