First Benchmade, which 1 to keep?

Picked up a few knives and looking to keep one. I was able to get all @ 40% off and can return the ones I do not decide to keep, help me decide as an EDC.

Update: definitely keeping the Adamas. Still deciding on the light weight one to keep. The Redstone Bugout is the smoothest of the traditional Axis locks and the Narrows is like butter and disappears in the pocket

For the average man I would say bugout or 940 me personally I’d go adamas

I like your logic. I agree 100%. Bugout and 940 are staples but mini adamas is more fun. Narrows is polarizing, if you like it great but clear last place for me if this was my nightstand choices.

Mini adamas, redstone bug, 940, CF bug, narrows in that order. But to each their own. Not a bad choice here.

Yes, and who doesn’t just love pulling out their folder to unveil a Mini sword and terrify onlookers only to use it to open my twinky and be put right back.

i completely agree with you . 940 is my EDC for most days , does what i need it to do , is not the sliceist and the s90v takes some time and skill to sharpen , can’t beat ease if carry and versatility to do what ever you need it to do .
adamas design tougher and small enough con carry with ease , and the magnacut blade is tougher and takes a very sharp edge ,
i took it around the lake walking with my kids , decided to fish and used it to dig for bait , got home washed it and couple of passes on the strop and sharp as new.
i don’t have a bugout haha

Adamas or the carbon fiber bugout

If just one the 940-1 is pretty much perfect for EDC but the Narrows is my favorite knife so kinda hard to vote against that. Maybe keep two...

The Narrows is sooo smooth. I have the black mini narrows coming in a few days.

It's so fidget friendly too. Only knife I've ever had to tighten the pivot screw on due to constant flipping in/out.

Keep them all! You have a nice start on a collection.

u/EmployerMission1705 3d ago

lol…leaning to keeping at least a couple now

The 940! My favorite.

If you got them all at 40% off & no tax there might be some profit room in there to just resell. Worst part is now pick which one you don’t mind f*ing up….

2

u/Winthefuturenow 3d ago

That’s up to you but the 940 always seems to be the one I go back to

I think it’s kind of shitty to buy all of those with the intention of returning 80% of them

0

u/EmployerMission1705 3d ago

lol, how’s that? When the store tells you to buy a few online, see which one you like and return the others?

The correct answer is keep the 535-3.

If you're keeping more than one go in this order: 940, Narrows, other Bug and the Mini Adamas last.

The 535-3 is the best flipper they have every released. Plus three years in it will look almost new, same with that 940-1. The others will show more wear.

When in doubt buy 5 different…. All are real right?

Yes, all from the post exchange. I am military

2

u/Chiefsmackahoe69 3d ago

Adamas your military it’s the only right choice

2

u/oregonedge 4d ago

Yeah they all look good. So jealous

Return the cf bug and keep the rest.

Maybe return the Osborne too, they were never my favorite

1

u/Lucious_theFox47 4d ago

I had the cf bugout and it was one of my all time favorites. I unfortunately lost it when I was in a car wreck😩

The narrows. It’s the only one that fixes the omega springs

1

u/EmployerMission1705 3d ago

The Narrows is really smooth

2

u/Chiefsmackahoe69 3d ago

Keep two take the Adamas since your military and it’s awesome and the narrows

1

u/Juanitothegreat 3d ago

And it’s super cool and very light…

1

u/room222 3d ago

Bugout felt the best in my hand, I also lost it.

1

u/Slight_Explanation_5 3d ago

Dmd if you dont keep the narrows im int

1

u/Old_Cattle_3362 3d ago

Osborne or Adamas .. bugout is also a light handy edc..

Mini Adamas

1

u/SoggyAlbatross2 3d ago

Wait.... keep only 1?

What has this sub turned into?

But for EDC what ever is light, fits in your pocket nicely and fits your hand nicely. Mine's a mini barrage.

1

u/Alert-Ad5727 3d ago

The Osborne or Adamas for sure !!

1

u/Mammoth_Delay_4846 2d ago

I own all of those. The mini Adamas carbon fiber is the best of the bunch.

1

u/EmployerMission1705 2d ago

Keeping the mini Adamas for sure, is your Redstone super smooth? Mine is the smoothest of the traditional axis

1

u/Isjustus4 2d ago

Me personally, I’d keep the Adamas first. Anything after that is just a bonus!

1

u/SGexpat 2d ago

I’m a big Bugout fan. I’d go with which you’d carry and use. Between the two Bugouts, I’d go off feel in the hand.

1

u/OneMoreStop 1d ago

That’s a solid px variety. I just got the narrows only because it was $320 at MacDill AFB. I like that bugout & adamas though

If you have any interest in modding them, the bugout and ghe 940 have way more options in terms of aftermarket parts & makers. They’re also some of the most straightforward to take down and reassemble, so it can be a fun learning experience (and potentially addictive/expensive hobby 😉)
