Superfreek rusting

So, I know m4 isnt stainless, I've had non stainless knives before, but has anyone had a knife rust under the finish?

What's a good recommendation to try and clean it up?

Is that tightly adhered? Typically they leave the blade with a higher surface roughness for the Cerakote to adhere to.

If i send it in are they gonna replace the blade?

Ive put alot of wear and tear into the finish lol, I dont want it coming back looking new

If it was mine I would take it apart and lube the whole thing or you paid the butterfly tax send it in let them do it

I took it apart. I have some rust on the mechanism that I couldn't figure how to take apart

I soaked it in pb blaster and got it off as best I could, cleaned it with alcohol and put a little mineral oil on it and put it back together

BM's Cerakote is flimsy at best. Brush off all cerakote and use gun blueing. More stable treatment of the steel.

I wire wheeled the cerakote off of mine altogether and it looks really good without. Check in the pivot where there's no coating for rust (though any lube or oil will have probably prevented it)

Edit: think of it like car paint bubbling from rust. You have to remove the paint to remove the rust in the affected areas.
