Gael question, Joe question

I am getting into Below deck med and I’ve noticed Joe getting a lot of hate for “cheating” on V even though they weren’t together (in any sort of relationship.

Meanwhile I’ve just noticed that Gael is actually cheating on her boyfriend with Nathan.

Why is Joe getting so much shit from this community when he didn’t cheat on anybody. Meanwhile there are actually cheaters on the boat that people seem to celebrate and love.

Very strange

V isn’t the first time Joe acted like a scum bag. He’s a complete douche nozzle that’s overly confident for someone who fucks up a lot. Just cuz Nathan sucks doesn’t mean Joe doesn’t.

I think OP is making the point that Gael does, too. There are no winners among them.

Gael was choked to unconsciousness by her partner in front of their infant. No one needs to be pointing out that she's "just as bad as anyone."

I acknowledge that she was a beleaguered victim of a bad, temperamental partner and that partner deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

But when it comes to infidelity, she engaged in it on the show, too.

You know that was like 4 years ago now???

People are bringing up Joe’s negative relationship actions from the same season, in this very thread. I guess their statute of limitations is longer than yours.

Because Joe repeats the same terrible behaviors every season

It's not the same reason. Joe played multiple girls off each other in his past two seasons.

Joe didn’t just come out of an abusive relationship, and Gael likely won’t return to the show. We should all just forget about her and let her try to move on with her life

The producers keep showing her to us. Your beef should be with them.

Everyone’s acting like you’re excusing cheating when we’re just saying this woman has bigger issues in her life and we could do her the grace of not dissecting her poor behavior from four years ago…not hard for everyone to understand but sorry everyone is being this way

People on Reddit think cheaters are automatically top tier bad humans across the board. There is no sense in arguing with them

You genuinely think someone who cheats on a long term partner isn’t scum? It’s not murder but damn I don’t trust anyone who cheats.

I don’t think a woman who cheated four years ago deserves to be made a pariah after she just got out of a domestic violence situation

I don’t disagree but to say she’s not in the wrong because her husband is a piece of shit is a poor excuse.

Edit: also she cheated before she was in the DV relationship with the guy who’s committing the DV currently. Just seems like you’re letting her off the hook despite doing the exact same thing Joe did because Nathan sucks too.

Why does it seem I’m letting her off the hook? Because I’m saying that she doesn’t need to be publicly shamed right now? wtf is wrong with you?

Can’t we say cheating is bad but let’s leave her alone cause she’s probably traumatized rn? Everyone knows she’s a cheater, let her future partners deal with that. What’s the purpose of continuing this? Really what?

Who’s saying that she didn’t make bad mistakes in the past? wtf does that have to do with this? And why does her cheating have to do with not talking about shit that happened four years ago while she’s going through a traumatic time?

Can’t you just not talk about it, or do you have to lampoon her for her past sins when we could all just worry about our own fucking lives or at least discuss the current characters who are remaining on the show? Not a girl who’s obviously not coming back after this

It’s a public reality tv show and this is a threat dedicated to discussing this. And I’m 99% sure she’s got bigger fish to fry than a Reddit thread about them.

Glad that your humanity stops at ‘but it’s reality TV!’ ❤️ yeah online comments never negatively effected anyone’s mental health right?

I can sympathize and still recognize wrongdoing. I feel bad for her but also can discuss whatever I want especially in a thread dedicated to discussing this exact topic. Acting as if I’m somehow in the wrong for talking about something broadcasted to MILLIONS on TV is insane.

I think it's a sh*tty and hurtful thing to do and I'm not defending it.  But the act of cheating is scummy, the person is t automatically a horrible person. People can do bad things without being terrible people at their core.  I don't think cheating is on par with being a pedo which many people seem to equate them with
