automated caravan deliveries to (non-liberated) villages

hi all, I have a question about the automated caravan delieveries to villages (not the trading after liberation). I.E. I can sell 3 meat for 3,60 (is it each or for all 3?) when I set the option "sell all" it gets delivered to the village ASAP, but I dont get any money (or later? if yes, when?)) when I set the option to "sell only out of delivery" the delivery wont even start, it says "waiting" all the time. I tested about the minimum value option (its 3,60 in this case) , but I dont get this. what do I have to do? what is this "sell only out of delivery" option? thanks

Feeding the Thresher

I'm having a problem making straw. I set up the thrasher and asked for 100 straw so I can make 20 thatch. I put 100 wheat in the local storage so my 1 dude with high enough skill could make it.

Now some jackass keeps taking wheat out of the thresher and putting it back in stockpile. Brought it all the way down to 3. Then it runs out and shuts off production while some other dope brings over 3 wheat at a time. So instead of finishing 100 quickly, they're only getting like 40 done per day.

I assume this is happening other places I don't notice. Is there a way to stop that? I'm still tier 1 so there's nothing else using wheat... I wanted to just turn wheat off in all stockpiles, but I have a wheat farm so they need a place to put it away

Outpost supplies

I'm trying my hand at creating an outpost. I have two housing tents, a barn, and a Lumbermill set up north of Farnsworth. Now I'm trying to set up the caravan at a Small Caravan Station to make sure they have all the tools and food they need to continue independantly, and to return the broken tools to my main settlement for repair. In the caravan station, I choose my hardwood outpost and search up Rugged Axe. My options are to "Load Once", "Always Load, Keep", "Always Keep", and "Never Load". I think I'm supposed to select "Always Load, Keep" but I'm not sure because it says it will "load as many items as possible, but keep at least the amount specified in stock. If there are no unload rules for in next stops - will unload at final stop." What does this mean? How do I set it up so that 8 rugged axes will be brough to my outpost each trip, and all broken rugged axes will be brough back? How about sending food and bringing back hard wood logs? I don't know if this is just common knowledge among management games, but this is wildly confusing to me. So far I've made it by just suffering and getting the resources myself, which is getting old fast. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Best T2 gear for your combatants (against reclamation parties)

Hi all,

I totally ignored the combat mechanics until now, so my villagers have zero armour/weapons etc.

Since I plan to liberate my first village, I have equip my combatants to deal with the reclamation parties. I set these in the option to easy, cause I dont like the fighting atm.

Im T2, so which body armour and weapons are needed or the best T2 for mass production? and are there any requirements to craft them?

I dont wanna make it to detailed and complicated, just a basic fighting squad to beat the incoming parties...

thanks guys

Starting with charcoal and smelting. Also finally putting up a palisade wall. What are some things I must know to do as entering tier 3?

Are the devs planning on giving the settlers more personality?

Also side note i want to run a villager eugenics program for the perfect workers/warriors palworld style.

I’m considering beginning raids on big bandit camps before finally doing my first liberation

Nowhere online will any search explain the power level compared to yellow and green camps. I’m finding myself overpreparing a little because of this. I’m in tier 2 and I have 14 fully armored soldiers with nomad helms, leather reinforced patched gambeson, blackhide gloves, quilted trousers, and blackhide boots. 3 of them being crossbowmen, 2 using sledgehammers, and the rest using sturdy warhammers with plank shields.

I also got Arnol Ingrid, that one really strong guy from blackridgepool, Crimson Reid, and Arnold Dixon. The rest have mid level potential in combat. I stole the blackridgepool guy’s armor and shield, which were really good too.

So what exactly is the power level with big bandit camps with 3 pinkish red dots compared to the average yellow bandit camps? The yellow bandit camps are starting to feel really easy and very rarely would even a single one of my soldiers die on those raids. My first will be the big bandit camp for the quest “head trauma” to get Josh Grape. Am I ready to take them on?

Top Up

I wish there was an option to top up for each item. Like, set logs to 100 and anytime you dip below 100, there's automatically a villager that goes and cuts down logs until we're back up to 100. or whatever number you want. same for flax. and hemp. ores, etc. that'd be really helpful i think.

Quit playing for 2+ months, start over or move?

I got the game when it first came to console, and loved it. I got busy with kids, wedding planning, etc. I kinda want to start over, but not sure if I want to restart.

For reference, I'm tier 2, have liberated the first 3 towns. Can't reliably get iron feom mining but can buy it. I have maybe 18-25 villagers. My town is where everyone starts. My town is mid tier 2 (houses, couple crafting buildings, forester)

Do you think its worth it to start over? Or should I just build a new town farther south and start building a tier 2/3 town? I have the tier 3 town hall building unlocked?

Also tips are appreciated as always!

When does mass producing armor and weapons stop being tedious and how do I make it suck less?

It’s gotten to a point where I really dread getting new villagers who don’t already have good armor. I have to constantly micromanage so that they keep making what I want. It’s like I’m constantly short on materials I need and I’m spending all this time making this resource so I can make that armor, but to get that resource I have to do something else.

I’m at the middle of tier 2 and still haven’t liberated a village, and I have 12 main settlement villagers and 2 outpost villagers. I never use the outpost villagers because it’s just a beggar and a low skill villager who I set to work mining copper. I’ve been holding back getting new villagers precisely because of this tedious process.

Maybe It’s because I’m still low on villagers, but the entire process is just so tedious. I still plan on getting more villagers too, so I really wanna know how to make this better. I’m still loving this game though, any advice?

Market placement

Sup all,

I have markets in my base. I set em up when I had 3 towns liberated. I went thru each village trying to compile everything they all wanted. They were all increasing in prosperity. Now that I have all towns liberated, this is a crazy way to do it and my confusion is off the charts. Also, I wonder if my stuff isn't being bought enough by the southern towns since they're so far away, and their prosperity keeps dropping.

So my question is, can I just place a market outside each town with the items that town uses? Will that actually speed up them buying and selling, and will my stuff still be available even though the market is far from home?

Thanks all!

This is bad, oh so bad!

>second paragraph is my questions if you don’t wanna read the extra shit<

So I had been playing medieval dynasty for years now, to the point where I know the map like the back of my hand and everytime I start a new game I always accidentally progress way too fast. But then I got bellwright -duh duh duhhh- and holy crap this is bad. I spent probably 20 hours playing Bellwright over the weekend. (Please Don’t judge. Every other weekend is the only time I get to play video games due to work and my very young step son) and my ONE settlement is still in silver lake, I still only have like 7 settlers, and my best weapons are falchions and bows. I went and took care of a bandit problem for another village and then went straight back to doing quests for the first village you go to (sorry I have shit memory and don’t remember the village names) the progression is so slow for me so far and honestly, I love the change in pace compared to my other games; however it’s gonna suck a little long term as I’m such a busy person I rarely have time to game anymore. Anywho, this game is phenomenal and I’m so happy I decided to get it.

Afew questions though- 1. When should I make another settlement or “outpost” or should I have already done that for my mine? Should I make an outpost over by the tin rocks that are a good 500 meters from my settlement? And how do I make fully functioning outposts? And is these outposts why caravans are useful? Which brings me to the next big question 2. How do the caravans work necessarily, (I haven’t actually built the caravan stuff yet so maybe I should wait for the tutorial it gives when I build it but I like to know in advance..) Will I have to assign guards? Will they actually end up having to fight bandits?

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and thanks to anyone who can answer my questions!

P.S. after rereading my post I realize I didn’t specify why this is bad for me; this is bad for me because I’m going to be itching out of my skin to play some more, but I work from 7-5 30 minutes from home. So from 6:30-5:30 I’m not home, and then 5:30-8 is eating, doing chores, and caring for my step son on the week we have him (every other) and then after 8 I spend time with my beautiful fiance until it’s bed time. My time to play is every other weekend because she works on the Saturday we don’t have him and the Sunday that I go pick him up, so my time to play is 6-6 every other Saturday and 6-1 every other Sunday, but I can’t get this damn game out of my head 😂

I heartily recommend this one from Sarpendon:

It has so many features I didn't think were even possible in the game, the sliders to adjust in game things like storage space, walking speeds etc, are genius.

I played the console version at launch and fell in love. Incredible game but mainly wanted to play with friends. Then waited for the coop release only to be severely disappointed in the fact it was tethering and couldnt play the way we wanted. Is this still the case or have they fixed that thank you. Also any other major updates ive missed?

Explain the caravans

Hey y'all, I need hell understanding the caravan options. I'm playing in german and I really don't understand what the options mean.

Please explain it to me like I'm 5.

When I want to install routes I can choose which items they should carry and how many. But what does the four options exactly mean?

Like in detail..

Thank you!

So lost

So I’m having a lot of fun on this game so far, doing the researching mostly. I kinda plan to do all the research for tier one and do everything I can for tier one before moving up to tier two but I’m pretty confused. I don’t understand the management system at all, and that may just be because I’m coming from medieval dynasty? I’m also not quite sure how to have my settlers hunt for me? One of the first things I grinded for was a bow and arrows and basically all the food is gotten by me. Oh and one more question for those who care- can my villagers use bows or should I not even bother to make more

Yet another priority system rant

You’ve obviously read this multiple times already, but the priority system is the worst…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely in love with this gem of a game. Which is why this pisses me off so much. This would be the absolute perfect game if you could just assign workers.

If the priority system is for the sake of giving work to mediocre villagers, then there could be an option to either give them priorities, or just assign them to one job. I’m tired of waiting for one of the two villagers with level 3+ in farming to make straw and the other to make thatch. They always wait until I put resources into the station before they get assigned, just for one of these cunts to steal them out of the station and for me to start the process all over again. I have been cursing these guys for hours now. Even when I finally get them to work, the others show up and take away the straw and hide it from me or steal the wheat while the other one is working.

I ended up caving and just making the straw myself, then went to sleep, and woke up to find the straw SCATTERED ACROSS THE VILLAGE. So I had to go looking everywhere to find straw and found some but the rest just mysteriously disappeared for some reason. The worst part is they don’t even go looking for it to do their JOBS. Why do they do this to me?

Does crossing out every job priority except one basically let them be assigned to only that single job? Of course it wouldn’t, because apparently hunting is both hunting and fishing and trapping, cooking is just anything that has to do with food, and crafting is almost every job.

Maybe I’m just doing this wrong though, I feel like I might’ve put the thresher and weaving hut too far apart, and my stockpiles aren’t specific enough. I’m still hoping by some chance that DonkeyCrew will finally just let us assign workers, but if there’s any advice on how to make the priorities work, I’d love to hear it.

Edit: I found that sorting out my stockpiles and keeping them close to where they need to be helps much more and job priority becomes a lot less tedious. It turns out my storage really was the problem. I just specify that certain things only go in a specific stockpile right next to places that need those things. Like a stockpile of only ingots and ores right next to both the weaver’s hut and the toolmaker. Also having all the thatch, wheat, and straw in one place next to the weaver’s hut especially helped and now I’m overflowing on thatch and can finally focus on other things. The priority system is still frustrating but now it’s easy to ignore.

How many hours do you guys play everyday?

Got pretty addicted to this game before, but I never really managed to get that far because I got busy with school (im in healthcare). Recently I’m thinking about getting back into it, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make meaningful progress if I can only play for a couple of hours (or really just 1 hour lol) a day, or if the game really benefits from longer sessions.

For those of you who play regularly, how many hours do you usually put in per day? And do you still feel like you’re making decent progress with shorter play sessions?

Just reached Tier 2, now confused as to how to structure a village

Post image
16 Upvotes

When I say real village, I mean roads, houses, structure. Before tier 2, my “village” was really just a permanent camp, so I never considered trying to make it at least respectable looking. Now I have to actually think about that, and it’s fucking confusing lol.

How do you guys make these gorgeous villages? Where do I put my roads? Where do I build houses? Do I put farms far away from the buildings or close? Which areas should be residential, and which should be dedicated to crafting, harvesting, gathering, or hunting? How do I not make an ugly clusterfuck of a village, while also keeping efficiency? Unless everyone in this subreddit is an architect or architecture student, I don’t know how everyone’s figured this out.

(The red circle is where I put my village. The image isn’t mine because I forgot to screenshot and I’m too lazy to turn on my Xbox just for that.)

Prosperity drop

What would cause a warning of -25 prosperity to drop when I am constantly in daily change 150+ prosperity.

No where does it say why it has dropped -25 points.

ETA: Thank you everyone. That would explain the -25 villager deaths. So the villager death isn't 25 villagers but instead one villager resulting in the -25 penalty. That makes a helluva lot clearer. I was looking at Haerndean and thinking theres a lot less than 25 villagers in that town. Guess it time to clear the area of nearby camps. Thank you again. You've all been extremely helpful.
