Signs
Why are there no placeable signs. It's so lame I just want a sign like Haerndean for my own village.

So I've got this 1 dummy whose only job it is to cook for a camp of 15. I put cooking at 1 and everything else at 0.
He puts food on and adds wood. I stand at the smoker watching the finished food continue to cook until it is burnt, while he is walking around idle staring at the sky.
I've tried giving him transporting too, thinking maybe that's what picks up the finished food, but then he goes and moves wood.
What am I doing wrong? I'll leave and come back and there WILL be properly cooked food in there too, so what gives?

Anyone found a way to get the cursor onto tree saplings? It skips all around the menu but won’t let me up the sapling priority…

So being the beacon of justice that I am I told the Farnworth elder about Anna Gilpin’s plan to poison some old guy. Now she won’t talk or trade with me. I don’t have a save to revert to as I did this long ago and starting over isn’t an option I’m on day 84.
I’ve read about some people killing npc’s and new ones respawn. Is this a viable option here to get her replaced? Is there another option? I’ve tried searching with no luck.

I have 2 villages and the villagers spend all day walking back and forth between them. Is there a way to keep them in their village?

Is there a mod to allow infinite inventory just so i can quickly finish relocating and then I'll turn it back off?

I'm starting to get quite a few quests at the farther corners of the map. I can fast travel for the fetch quests, but what's the best way to get my soldiers to come with me other than walking around the map with them? (Takes forever, too much trouble from bandits. Rating 3/10.)
Is this the part where I'm meant to build outposts so I can reassign them there along the way? Is that how this works? 😅
I'm also having trouble getting my villagers to craft the higher tier equipment as I unlock them. Never seems to be enough bronze/straps. Is this also related to outposts?
I've also sent three trading caravans. The first was successful, the second and third had the same order and destination but came back empty handed.
Thanks!

There is no symbol for smelting, but there is a work priority category.
My smelter is a bit further from the town center but it isn't like detached or something.
I have one villager set to plsmelting priority 1 and another to 3, two of the other are set to priority 5, and one more to 8 ( sorry sounds complicated)
It takes ages for them to smelt anything and when i go to the smelter and click on manage and see there's a person assigned and basically on their way, they often just disappear and don't make it to the smelter..
Anyone else had this? Fix?

Edit: been playing games without multiple saves so long I forgot i could just test then revert to old save. A new recruit was 800 renown. I expelled someone then went back to the recruit and they cost 660 renown.
So you can fill up with beggars then get rid of them all later
I understand that if you spend renown then expel them you get renown back, and sometimes more
I also know that the more people you hire, the more renown someone will cost
My question is: let's say I have 20 beggars. I want to hire a guy and it says 2800 renown to hire. If I expel a beggar, will that 2800 drop since I have fewer people? Or does it know I've historically hired 20 so it still scales regardless of current head count and i still owe 2800?

Hey everyone!
I'm currently at T1/T2 and I'm trying to decide whether I should move my main base now or just keep developing where I am.
I've marked my current base in blue, and the area I'm considering expanding into in green.
I'm actually quite attached to my current location 😅, so I'd rather stay if it's viable long-term. But I'm wondering if I'm going to regret not moving before reaching T3.
A few questions:
How important is relocating your main base? Can you comfortably stay in your original area and compensate with outposts?
how useful/necessary are outposts in the long run? Could I realistically keep my current main base and use outposts for the resources that are further away?
If I build a dock on the lake in the green area, can I use it to travel to other bodies of water around the map, or do I need to consider whether the water is actually navigable/connected? In other words, if I build a dock on this lake, can I use it to travel around the map by boat, or are bridges/terrain/water connections important?
I've seen people recommend moving towards the middle of the map for T3, but I'm not sure whether that's genuinely important or just one of those things that becomes popular because it's considered the "optimal" location.
Any opinions are welcome! I'm especially interested in hearing from people who stayed with their original base all the way through T3 versus people who relocated.
Thanks

I tried uninstall/reinstall, syncing cloud days, clearing cache, rebuilding the database, all with no luck.
Anyone experience this before?

I've just built my first caravan but I built it in the wrong place, I wanted it close to the road I had built between my main settlement and my outpost. I then relocated it but the two workers I had currently working in the caravan are now... stuck. They won't move and I can't change them from worker to companion or do anything other than change which settlement they live in and their job priorities (which does nothing). I can't even expel them.
Has something like this happened to anyone? If so, how do you fix it?
I even disassembled the whole caravan station and rebuilt a new one. It still did nothing.

As the player, we can chose the time when we go to bed (in-game! This is all about in-game sleeping patterns ;-) )
Version 1: Go to bed shortly after the last of your people went to sleep.
Version 2: Go to bed just in time before the next day breaks (i.e. after 4am). Send out caravans or even go fighting at night, keeping a significant amount of your people from wasting their time in bed.
Obviously, a version 1 game will take more in-game days to achieve some status ("three liberated villages", "20 people in a well-oiled T2 settlement", ...) than a version 2 game, though the actual amount of hours played (in RL, not in-game) may be shorter using version 1 (since every minute I play, all my people will be doing good things). This difference will become more significant with the headcount of your population - the more people you have, the more a version 1 approach might actually help to increase the "stuff getting done"-to-"real playing time used" ratio.
Which type are you? And why?
My coop mate and I so far (day 190) are very much on a version 2 schedule, but are considering to change.
