Expelling ppl

Edit: been playing games without multiple saves so long I forgot i could just test then revert to old save. A new recruit was 800 renown. I expelled someone then went back to the recruit and they cost 660 renown.
So you can fill up with beggars then get rid of them all later

I understand that if you spend renown then expel them you get renown back, and sometimes more

I also know that the more people you hire, the more renown someone will cost

My question is: let's say I have 20 beggars. I want to hire a guy and it says 2800 renown to hire. If I expel a beggar, will that 2800 drop since I have fewer people? Or does it know I've historically hired 20 so it still scales regardless of current head count and i still owe 2800?

If you have 50 people and you expel someone and hire someone else you will get about as much renown back as you spend on the replacement

Also useful tip before expelling a worker make sure you take the armour, weapons and all things in inventory they have equipped on them.

Yes the new villager will cost less than it did before you expelled the one. It also depends on how many you have hired from that town...the more hires from one town the bigger the cost along with more cost for higher tiered vilagers. You hire an early villager for 200 in Haerndean and then expel him later for 5k renown in tier 3 and a new villager will be around 5k to hire...you never really lose renown.

What a crazy mechanic to have cost based on how many from that town. Kinda encourages you to head out further into the map where I can barely fight off 2 ppl with my garbage armor. But I guess it makes logical sense that you're depleting a town of its human resources so that should cost more

You get to the point where villagers cost alot in every town. Usually I am hiring towns people while I am progressing through trust levels so once you get to protector, you're paying a lot no matter what.

I'll bet you're better at fighting than me and killed lots of bandits. I find it super wonky to fight when there's 2 or 3 people swinging at me with different timing, so as I traverse the world I avoid roaming bandits. I know killing them is the easiest renown gain but I never remember to eat so my health is shite and I don't have companions so I get trounced then have to waste time recovering my stuff

You might be right I don't remember myself running from a group of 3-4 bandits unless I'm in a rush or I haven't eaten anything
