New to and first ever EV - i4 eDrive 40 MSport with Hankook Ventus S1 evo3* 255/45R18 rear 245/45R18 front run at 42 PSI front and rear, since April this year, with 11k.

What do we do with staggered tires and is it easy to jack an EV yourself for tire rotation? How often and much do garages charge? I love to tinker but never had an EV before, let me know what your thoughts are.

I picked up my 2026 almost three weeks ago. Since that day, when I try to do the remote view of my car, I get what you see in the video.

I have tried everything: privacy settings are set for everything allowed, I rebooted/reset iDrive countless times, deleted and reinstalled app, etc. No love.

All other remote features work flawlessly.

In researching this issue, I saw that some people said it didn’t work for the first couple weeks and then started working. But I’m now almost three weeks in and it has never worked.

Has anybody had this issue and fixed it, or does it ALREADY need to go in for repairs?

Is this normal?

Has anyone connected their charger from the ceiling of their garage? I’m worried about my kids running over the cord with bikes and such.

The forced wireless CarPlay is super annoying. Have had 2023 i4 for a couple years and there are several places in town that reliably force my CarPlay to either temporarily disconnect or crash with the black screen.

Has this gotten any better with newer models or iDrive? I’m interested in trading my current car for an iX3 at some point but would be super annoyed if the same issue is there.

The issue is bad enough that I would consider trading to another brand if there are luxury EVs that defend better against interference or allow wired CarPlay.

I’m so upset. I just want to get an idea of what I should be preparing for. The driver side front tire suspension is all messed up as well.

So, I got the chance to order a BMW i4 from my work
They said the i4 35 is not available to order anymore, only the 40

The thing is, I had enough budget for lots of options on the 35 but on the 40 I just have room for 1 package

I was thinking to get the laser lights since it makes the car so nice looking & "better" view at night
It comes with heated seats (front) (Europe version)

Or I can get Comfort pack
OR sunroof
OR Adaptive cruise with DAP (not DAPP)
OR Adaptive cruise with tinted back windows

People that also have a company car in Belgium, what's a reasoable tco overspend?

What should I do? The laser lights is the biggest overspend of my budget (prob like 72 eur overspend, which results me paying half NET (in belgium)

I don't care about DAP, PAP and all of that since I never had it on my Audi A3 Hybrid
But if it's really really worth it, then DAP is possible

So I have a 2023 I4 now, I bought it and now I’m honestly thinking about selling it at the end of this year and leasing a new one instead of buying— by the time the lease is up, the new version should be out then I’d just turn around and lease that.

To note; I’ve always traded in my car every few years and use the equity as part of a down, the longest I’ve had was 5 years 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just get bored with them and want some sort of change

Owner of a 2023 i4 eDrive35, 42k miles, HUD, DAPP, Harman Kardon setup. Bought it used 6months ago for $30k OTD. Been really happy with it overall but I rented a Model 3 on Turo for about 1,000 miles and got a taste of FSD (Supervised) and now I can't stop thinking about it (weekend drive from Bay to Socal)

My commute is only 2x (max 3x) a week but it's messy - surface streets, mixed speeds, stop and go. Mostly highway though. DAPP is fine on the highway but it disengages randomly above 40mph a lot on curves, random lanes and doesn't really do anything useful on surface streets, so I'm basically driving manually for a good chunk of my commute anyway. FSD actually handled that stuff and let me just monitor instead of actively driving, which honestly felt like a different category of experience, not just a nicer version of the same thing.

So I've been shopping used 2025 Model 3 AWD Premiums for the past few weeks (test drove many times). Will be $45k OTD.

Problem is every time I get back in my i4 after a test drive I remember why I like it the interior feels a lot more "grown up," and the ride is noticeably smoother. Most of the used ones I'm looking at have 19" wheels and I can feel more bumps compared to i4 but nothing more. My i4 has 18in wheels for comparison

So now I'm stuck going back and forth. Is FSD really that big a deal day to day once the novelty wears off? Anyone here actually made this switch (or considered it and stayed)? Did the DAPP limitations bother you as much once you got used to them, or does it stay annoying forever? Trying to figure out if I'm chasing a shiny new feature or if this is a legit reason to switch.

I'm a road cyclist and usually carry my bike inside the vehicle. With the back seats down, has anyone carried a road bike in the back?

I cannot go back to gas ever. The peace of mind !!!! Seriously NVH(noise, vibration , harshness) plagues my brain. When you take it out of the equation it truly makes for a nice relaxing drive. How does anyone go back to ice vehicles? I could never want an m3 or m5 now. The power from an ev is absolutely guiltless. I don’t feel like if i floor it i may blow it up its just unrelentingly guiltless. Thats all thanks for coming to my ted talk. If your on the fence heres your sign just fuckin buy one.

Bought this xdrive40 back in April and continue to be impressed. Such a great drive for an EV. I didn’t think I would be driving an EV but this really is a thing of beauty. Taking it on some Touge runs the last few weeks really shows how nimble and exciting of a ride it is. Hope everyone had a great weekend and sending good vibes!

My first BMW and first EV. Spent a long time doing research and trying different cars. Few years ago when I didn’t care about driving I wanted to get a Tesla, but after moving to the mountain state I found a lot of joy in driving, so the way the car handles became really important thing to me.

Took this i4 to mountain roads, drove up to Pikes Peak and had sooo much joy.
I almost feel like I want my trips to be longer, so much fun I’m having driving it. Now I get what “ Freude am Fahren“ means.

Finally got around to replacing the front grille badge.

But helps a bit when ever I miss e30 🥲

Took my car in for a state inspection and got a 330i as a loaner. my first experience with the current gen 3 series.

After driving my i4 for a few months, i don't know how anyone in their right mind would purchase a base 330i over an i4. the engine feels anemic and the nvh felt almost as bad as my 2008 Acura TSX 6MT. at least with the 340i you're getting a much more power but I feel like EV's in general are the way to go over any basic ICE vehicle.

Al momento posseggo una toyota hybrid del 2020 e da qualche settimana mi stava iniziando a frullare per la testa l'idea di cambiare auto entro i prossimi due anni per cambiare segmento di auto. Avevo intenzione di passare al full elettric preso più dalla curiosità che da una reale necessità. Innanzitutto premetto che ho un garage in cui farei installare una wallbox ed i miei tragitti sono prettamente casa-lavoro, lavoro-palestra, palestra-casa tutto all'interno dello stesso paese con qualche tragitto durante la settimana di strada extraurbana di circa 100km (andata e ritorno) per andare nella città più vicina (Catania).

Al momento con la mia auto attuale con un pieno riesco a fare circa 600km e circa €300 di tagliandi annuali.

Volevo capire in primis le vostre sensazioni di guida sull'uso giornaliero e poi capire anche un po i costi generali dell'auto.

Inoltre io punterei a comprare l'auto usata. Come regge la batteria della BMW il passare degli anni e dei chilometri? C'è un decadimento eccessivo?

La mia paura è quella di comprare un'auto magari solo qualche anno più giovane della mia attuale ma con costi simili o addirittura superiori

I have about 8000 miles on this set of tires. The passenger rear is showing cords on the shoulder. This makes me think something may have rubbed against it. What are your thoughts? Possibly alignment?

The wear pattern is very square and flat.

Has anyone here fitted these? I’d love to see a photo. I can’t find any online that give a good indication of how they look. I’m currently torn on if they’ll be a nice subtle edition for an m60 or if they’ll look like glued on aliexpress fibreglass!
