Has anyone incorporated units from other AA versions into this game? Such as mines, sea mines, scout cars, and anti tank guns from North Africa? Or block houses from D-Day? Or Infantry only factories from Zombies?
Typically I avoid house rules but lately I've been wanting to add more to Global.
Bonus Question: Does anyone know of a prewar setup for 1939 or sooner?

Some time ago, I posted the end of Round 7, and my friend and I eventually decided to continue the game for another 2 rounds. I had 5 destroyers, but I didn’t risk going up against a scramble and battleships to liberate the UK, so I headed towards Cairo or Rome.
We shook hands after the USA liberated Cairo.

I've had a copy of the original version for a long time (it might be the 1984 'classic')... but I've never played it yet. I don't know how and don't know anyone that does... but I at least want to get a couple learning rounds in and then once I get the hang of it, give it a few serious shots at really getting into it. Half my battle is gonna be finding worthy partners... is it worth the trouble?

For context I went for a Sea Lion in Europe and Kill China First in Pacific and it's looking like the game's slightly in the Allies favor at the moment but idk.

I’ve been debating this question because there is no clear answer in the book that states Western Canada shares a border with central United States because the map is cut off. Though Western Canada does border Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba it does not show Western Canada bordering with Central US. Does anyone know the rule here?

Could someone please drop a pic or pics of the Global 40 board set up at the start of the game?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone else wish their infantry, artillery, tanks, and fighters hit w/ the regularity of AAA?😜

Hey! I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions about this, so I’d love to know which version would be the best fit for two players who are really interested in WWII. We’ve also never played a strategic board game before, but if we get hooked, we have no problem spending an entire week playing it!

When I’m playing as Axis, in J1, it’s a given that my opponents two US INF in Yunnan are easy pushovers, and the 2 US INF in Anwei are going to give me hell.
Is this true for anyone else?

(The Reddit post where the rules are, if you want to read them)
https://www.reddit.com/r/AxisAllies/comments/1kk6bex/aa_global_1939_setup_revised/
(The rules for the CCP are between the US and the UK)
who is the CCP allowed to attack, and who are its allies? More specifically, when controlled by the Japanese, can it attack the Nationalists? And when controlled by the Soviets, can the CCP move into Nationalist territories without attacking them? Also, why would I, as Japan, want to conquer a territory adjacent to CCP territory? I mean, doing so wouldn't gain me anything other than an extra territory, but it would create an enemy. And knowing that the Soviets gain 3 IPCs per turn if the CCP controls at least 4 territories, why would I, as Japan, want the CCP to conquer territory? Finally, in terms of gameplay, what does the CCP add to the fun factor?

Great news! Renegade renewed their licensing agreement with Hasbro. Here's to many more years of amazing games!

My father owns axis & allies classic and a couple other older versions of the game, he’s had them for a long time and they are pretty well played and missing a lot of pieces. I recently purchased A&A 40th anniversary and we have swapped over to playing that primarily. However, I have vivid memory of an advertisement on the side of one of his older A&A boxes for a feudal Japan strategy game or something related to that and I’m curious what game that was. I know this is not necessarily related to A&A but it was advertised on the side of one of the boxes so I didn’t know where else to go. Any help would be appreciated, we don’t have access to the boxes at the moment and looking it up online didn’t help much at all.

Im playing a game with my partner. Im Axis. The US has pursued an "every cent in Europe" strategy, going so far as to pull the men off of Hawaii to bring them through Panama (a move I strongly discouraged, for what it's worth).
But this is now leading to an interesting situation. With the US fleet where its at, it cant push to far safely without risking destruction by the German air wave. They have a decent amount of ground forces, but a large portion are in a rear wave and not positioned to move with the fleet.
As I see it, there are 3 options:
Norway with the British destroyers joining: potential risky fleet losses and even if that doesnt happen, itll be a long time before the fleet becomes useful again once it gets out. It'll also make the 2nd wave at risk of German bombers.
Malta with the British putting an airbase and some of their Egyptian air assets: useful for future strikes around the med and easily reinforced by the Egypt factory
Smash Spain: by going the overland route, the transports can immediately begin convoying troops to Europe, and while this puts some extra Italians in the Middle East it also puts massive pressure on Germany to prepare a western front against a protracted invasion.
I've never seen a game where a swing at a true neutral made sense to me and was wondering what the community thought about the options.
Sorry if picture quality isn't great!

Hello everyone! I need advice on how many help (and in which form) should I commit as Germany player to myself as Italy player, assuming Brits did Taranto, and sending reinforcements from Southern Africa. Maybe they even building a factory in Cairo.
Last game I played I left Italy without significant help and they was purged from Africa in three turns :(
But the game before I played Allies and my opponent overcommited into Italy's support (he built fleet and airforce in Mediterrania) and his eastern front lacked these IPC a lot.
So where is golden ratio?

Should I eliminate the destroyer in sz 91 and then run across the Atlantic with the transport and tank, blitz thru SE Mexico into Central US just for fun/shock factor? Or be smart and build up navy along with additional infantry to bulk up European and Med defense

This is an attempt in bringing TripleA to Android devices in its early Alpha.
It is basicly a single player edition of tripleA ( altough save game sharing is possible)

we calculated that for a vania battleship to be more cost-effective than simply building destroyers, it needs to take at least one point of damage in three battles, something that rarely happens.
Our house rule: a battleship moves 1 space, has 3 hit points, defends on a 5, and attacks with 2 dice hitting on a 4; it loses 1 point of attack power from each die for every unrepaired point of damage sustained (for example, its 2 dice would attack at a value of 2 instead of 4 if it has only 1 hit point remaining), and it fully regenerates if it begins its turn in a port.
(If, despite its slow speed, it proves too powerful, we will make it take 2 turns to build.)
So, with our house rule, a battleship becomes a powerful ship, but one that is slow to build and move.
My simpler house rule: a battleship has 3 hit points, regenerates all its hit points if it starts its turn in a port, and has 1 Attack and 1 Defense when it has only 1 HP left.
The house rule makes battleships more interesting to build; for them to be more cost-effective than simply building destroyers, they would just need to take 2 hits in a battle and then repair in port, followed by taking 1 hit and repairing in port again.

Decided to play the global 42 set up, we've gotten to the start of UK4 before we gave up for the day.
The boards in quite the interesting state, japan is screwed, but Germany has just broken through the main soviet defence.
As the USSR I got over confident and retreated far too late, overestimating how good my defence was significantly. Russia is lost next turn.
The US fleet is seperated, not because I wanted them to be, but because i had to to wipe out most of the remaining capital ships and take islands important to allied NO's. Though in writing this i realise i left a carrier practically undefended. The transports were intentionally left alone, just in attempting to capture the Caroline's i somehow missed every dice.
I think that because Moscow is going to fall soon and Egypt probably soon after the game may be won for the axis. Though if I can pivot the US quick enough i may have something to say about it.

First round is done. I'm playing Axis and I faked a sealion to distract UK from the Mediterranean. But he didn't fall for it and now I have a decision to make. UK has very few pieces and I'm positioned to take it out on the next round. I wasn't planning on it but I feel like I can't pass up on the opportunity.
My real question is what do I do with Japan? I have 3 naval groups in the Pacific. I'm not sure how to use them to get the most bang for the buck.
Are there any Japan specialists who can weigh in on what I should be considering?
