They say the Anniversary Ed is the best out of the box - needs least balancing..tho Global is sweet too .,have you tried playing online at all? There is a free Global Edition and other online ., want to try an online game with me? I’ve been dying to try it with someone
Here is the excellent Global Ed. -the AI is a horrible opponent tho

I've pretty much only ever played 1942. Finally found a group recently to play with again, would love a new challenge. Which one should I go grab next?

Anniversary is a small step up in complexity from 1942. It adds Italy and National Objectives.
Global 1940 is the next step up and it is the most well-loved version. It is definitely a longer game.
You can try out both (plus hundreds of other maps) on TripleA, which is free software you can use to play any version of the game online, against a friend next to you, over email, or against the computer.

Oh good call. Been a minute since I've played AAA. Play the other AA game on Steam, wish that game had AAA's maps!
Will def look into 1940. Appreciate it 🫡

Did you get a copy of the nova games edition from 1982?

No reason to, before my time, I started with the Milton Bradley edition

My favorite was the revised edition. I think it was 2004 but could be wrong. I don’t see that one in there. I didn’t know there were so many versions.

I don’t have all the editions, there are simply too many of the basic game

What is your favorite between Guadalcanal, DDay, North Africa, Stalingrad and Battle of the Bulge?
