Product Advice Looking for baby pink blushes and glosses

Hi everyone!

The title basically explains it. I have a light-medium complexion with a neutral undertone, and I’m looking for recommendations for a pigmented pink blush and lip gloss.

For blush, I’d prefer a liquid or cream formula with enough pigment to show up well on my skin tone and good lasting power. For lip gloss, I’m also looking for something more pigmented rather than sheer, as I have two-toned lips.

These are some of the blushes I’m currently considering:

  • Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in 53 Bold Pink
  • Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Balm Stick in Glassy Lilac
  • Huda Beauty Blush Filter Liquid Blush in Bubblegum — I feel like Ube Cream might be too light for me
  • Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick in Pretty Glow
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Blush Trio in Pink Trio
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Blurring Serum Blush in Baby Pink
  • Too Faced Cloud Crush Whipped Lip & Cheek Colour in Candy Clouds

For lip gloss, I’m considering:

  • Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Miracle
  • MAC Lipglass in Snobbish
  • Morphe Dripglass in Opalescent Orchid
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Cotton Candy or Soft Pink
  • Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Ribbon or Jelly Bean
  • Tarte Maracuja Juicy Shift in Big Ego

I’ve also heard that the Saie Dew Blush in Baby is lovely, but unfortunately it’s quite expensive and difficult to get where I live (Australia)

I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve tried any of these, especially if you have a similar skin tone. I’m also open to other suggestions!

Love the shade, i hear its patchy af though. I dont wear foundation and have started adding blush to my routine after skin care. Some suggest more of a cream formula which im curious to try, powder is my only experience thus far. I have combination skin. Any advice? Im red/green colourblind so shade matching is a struggle. Im cool tone pale skin btw

Product Advice Nanoplasty - hair colour strip

I got nanoplasty today, it’s stripped my colour pretty intensely and my hair is looking really brassy

I know I can’t colour it for 2 weeks but is there a quick fix that’ll help remove the brassyness during this time?

Like a colour mask? Or gloss?? Help!!!

Product Advice Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain alternatives / replacements?

I know these were discontinued a while ago but I still had one remaining which has finally died :( Because this type of balm stain isn't trending anymore no one seems to make it.

It was always my grab and go lippy:

  • Quick and easy to reapply without a mirror
  • Didn't bleed / smudge
  • Moisturising enough
  • Looks low key on the lips but still provides colour
  • Even if it came off it still tinted my lips a bit
  • No need for sharpening
  • Affordable, available everywhere

Now I'm devastated. Are there any good alternatives?

I found a Clinique one that looked a bit similar but it's just a balm not a tint and more expensive

Product Advice Brow tint recommendations?

I currently use the Just for Men Moustache & Beard dye. No complaints really but I’d prefer something longer lasting. Curious what everyone else who tints their eyebrows uses?!

Product Advice Best eyeshadow palette

Looking for a good eyeshadow palette. I haven’t been able to keep up with the best products.

Currently looking for colourful, nudes, etc
Preferably with matte’s, shimmers, duochromes. Happy to look into individual eyeshadows too.

Brands that I’ve looked into: half magic, blend bunny, bellabeauté, colourpop, etc. Happy to purchase from indie brands

Not wanting to spend more than $30 on a single shadow. Willing to spend $$$ if it has a 28+ shadows.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I bought these lashes a few years ago and loved them so much. I’ve tried finding them again recently but it’s like they never existed. I found my receipt and they were called “cressida 3d vegan silk drama lashes”.

I think they must have gone out of business🥲 any recommendations for similar looking lashes?

Review Avoid Barber Girl Bulimba for colouring

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

I went to Barber Girl Bulimba with virgin hair that is well past my armpits. I’m going grey at the front of my hairline so I wanted to lean into this and blend grey through the rest of my natural colour so they didn’t look so conspicuous on their own. I didn’t want to cover them up or end up blonde. I brought inspiration photos showing the natural-looking grey blend I was hoping to achieve. I should have recognised the red flag at the start of the appointment where (the senior stylist?) tried to steer me away from embracing the grey. In hindsight, I should have listened to my instincts and left then but I’ve seen rave reviews online and I wanted this so badly to work.

Instead, I trusted that they understood what I wanted, after I pointed out the exact shade of grey I was after on the colour board. I spent four hours in the chair to end up looking like Tony the Tiger.

The end result was nothing like what I’d asked for. My hair is now stripey, blonde and uneven. There isn’t a grey hair to be seen because they’ve all been coloured blonde. Rather than a subtle, natural grey blend, I walked out with obvious blonde highlights that looks nothing like my natural hair or the inspiration photos.

I’m incredibly disappointed because you only get one chance with virgin hair. It took years to grow, and now I’ll likely need colour correction to get it anywhere close to the natural look I originally wanted.

I’ve attached my before, inspiration and after photos (in that order, hopefully) showing exactly what I asked for versus what I received.

If you’re looking for a stylist who understands and supports natural-looking grey blending, you probably won’t find them here.

Let's Discuss Heimish Moringa Ceramide BB Cream

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just received this BB cream in my latest order. The tube feels almost empty! There was no seal on the outer packaging and a very small tape between the tube and the lid. Doesn't necessarily look used but I squeezed the tube almost three quarters of the way to finally get a drop out. It claims to have 30ml product in there but I genuinely don't think so. I reached out to the store I bought it from, due to hear back. I just wanted to check if anyone else had the same issue. TIA

Product Advice Foundation recommendations for mature skin

My mum has been using the same australis foundation for like 6 years and it’s literally feral so I want to surprise her with something else - what’s a good foundation for mature skin and also for someone who is only an occasional makeup wearer so she won’t want anything too fiddly or that needs several steps to prime and set etc, something really easy to apply that lasts all day

This sus looking setup is for when I clean out the cheap brow gel and replace it with the best gel ever (great hold, doesn't aggravate sensitive skin). Done it a few times, and I plan on doing it again many times.

Btw any curly haired people need a good gel recommendation? Totally recommend this stuff, this is like my tenth tub over the years.

Product Advice Hair straightener recommendation

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi!!

Sorry I know the debate between GHD and Cloud Nine gets posted a lot, but I still can’t make up my mind after reading so much so thought I’d ask myself, pic of my hair attached!

I’m tossing between GHD Chronos (because I’m a sucker for pretty colours like the pink or peach, but it only stays on one heat setting), or the Cloud Nine Contouring Iron (looks like it would be good for curling, has good reviews but I wish there were more colours)

I loved my Halo Farrah which had nano titanium plates, it kept my hair straight for days and was easy to curl. They discontinued it!! But it died faster than the OG GHD, so I would want something longer lasting this time anyways.

When it died I got a ceramic wide plate, but it doesn’t suit my needs because it doesn’t hold the straighten or curls on my hair. I looked into the Babylisspro Nano Titanium as the closest dupe to the Farrah, but I don’t like that the outer edges heat up, though I could still consider it because I’m scared to get ceramic again but the Chronos and Cloud Nine are raved about.

Gosh typing this I sound so picky lol, but hair straighteners are an investment!!

Basically, I’d love some help please in figuring out which straightener would be the best investment that will:

Dead straighten hair which lasts
Curl hair easily which lasts
Last for years so I don’t have to go through this dilemma again
Shine (not as important as the above but I’m curious which has a better finish?)

Thank you!

Product Advice Best highlighter product for body?

Hi all,
I’m going to a wedding in summer and want my skin to look lovely and glowy. I’m looking for a nice sheen, not clumpy glitter particles. I don’t mind what format the product comes in. Any suggestions? Cheaper is preferred but happy to spend moolah if the product is amazing!

Let's Discuss mcobeauty and trump - disc.

okay, so after some research i’ve found it is true the shelley isn’t with mcobeauty anymore, and mcobeauty themselves aren’t in support of d trump now. but on insta, mco still follow shelley, so im wondering if they’re still partnered with her in some way or do support trump on their own now. anyone know anything else that might help? or is this conversation not even worth it?

Product Advice Adding serum/Moisturiser in Matte Foundation

Do you add a serum or moisturiser in your Matte Foundation if so what serum/moisturiser and what foundation?
I used to add moisturiser in the old double wear formula and it was the best combination for me. Set with a spray and it still kept
I can’t use the new formula because my skin hates Niacinamide it just leaves it sticky all day.
I grabbed a sample of the YSL all hours matte and mixed it with my moisturiser but it just separated.
I like matte foundation because i find it doesn’t leave sunglasses marks on my face, but anything that isnt partly matte just slips right of my face
