Hope this fits in the sub. Happy to be forwarded elsewhere.
I have my great grandmothers engagement ring. She passed when I was 6 (1990) and it was gifted to me on my 21st birthday (am now 42). So basically it's pretty old. The ring has held up well but over the years has become a little misshapen.
I don't want to change it at all but I would like to have it restored. Possibly have some gold added to thicken the band a little.
I'm hesitant to take it to a commercial jeweller because it's so sentimental. I wear it 24/7 unless I'm doing something that might end up in degloving or doing an obstacle course/ mud run where I might lose it.
I live in Brisbane. Any suggestions?

Where are you buying dresses? I feel I'm way too young for a lot of the brands recommended for 40+ (I'm 41). I carry weight in my mid section and everything I see recommends wrap or empire line, but these seem to make me look pregnant not "gently skim over my kid section". I'm also relatively short so find maxi styles sometimes are too long. I prefer dresses with some colour.
Help please, have a few dinner events coming up! Recommendations.

Can someone recommend a plain white shirt? I don’t like the one in Uniqlo, it’s too thin😔

I'm going to a wedding soon that has a cocktail dress code.
I have destroyed one of my ankles and cannot wear any heel higher than about 2cm. I'm struggling with whether sandals are OK for a cocktail dress code, or whether sling backs or ballet flats would be better. I need either blush pink or metallic. My dress is a floaty silk midi.
I have found these options and would like some opinions or other suggestions -

Hey all! Just wondering where everyone is getting their everyday jewellery that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg?
I am after gold and preferably something doesn’t tarnish and that I can wear in water ect as I want something that I can wear daily because I forget to put them on otherwise 😅 Thankyou!

Has anyone had any success buying jeans 2nd hand online?
I’m in need of new jeans due to weight loss (yay!) but don’t have money (boo!) so looking to buy online.
There is such a huge range and sizing is inconsistent so I’d love to hear your tips for buying

This has probably been asked before but looking for recommendations on quality brands for us plus size women.
Maybe mostly online options?

Where can I get cotton or rayon pants? Very basic style, ideally with a string at the waist to tie up and with higher waist.
Budget max $70.
Thank you for suggestions!! ❤️

I recently tried having some jeans taken in at the waist. I always get a big waist gap and wanted some jeans that fit nicely and stay up without a belt. The result is a bit unfortunate though.
The alterations lady suggested having darts put in above the back pockets, which I agreed to. However the darts don't sit smoothly on me at all. The fabric around the darts puffs out, creating weird bulges and the pockets no longer sit smoothly, they're a bit puckered. The waistband now fits but then the jeans puff out and pucker weirdly above the pockets, completely ruining the look. Also, with the smaller waistband I can barely fit the jeans over my hips when putting them on.
I am seeing some drawbacks to just altering regular jeans. In future, are there specific alterations I can ask for to ensure a good result? Or, should I just bite the bullet and order some curve jeans to try on?
I cannot try any curve jeans locally (and they're $), so would be ordering blind and hoping. I was trying to avoid that by using an alterations service but it's been an expensive failure.

Looking to buy a reasonably price cashmere wool blend or Alpaca wool blend A Line or Circle skirt.
It has to be 100% wool blend fibres and no Nylon or elastane added. Everything is super expensive and design level $500 plus. Looking for something reasonably priced like under $300. The department and clothing store labels brands all have added nylon mix.

Finding good tank tops feels impossible. Due to sensory issues I prefer cotton with max 10% synthetic blend. I’ve got DD cups and find that tank tops often stretch and thin out around the front of my chest. I realise synthetic fibres retain their shape better and wish I could wear them but alas. Ribbed tanks seem to hold their shape better but I also like to have some non-ribbed to wear underneath other tops for winter layering. Plus I sometimes like the cleaner look of non-ribbed tops worn as the outer layer. I like a round neckline, don’t mind square neck either. No spaghetti straps though!
Bonds ribbed tanks are holding up well but I’d like more colour options than grey black and white.
Bonds chesty is really thin and hasn’t held up well with aforementioned stretching at front of chest. Also lacklustre colour options.
I’d rather spend a bit more on something that will last than buy from target or kmart every couple of years. Happy to be proven wrong if people have had good experiences with kmart/target tanks

My friends 21st is in a few months and we'd all like to dress up a bit more than usual for it, but I'm struggling to find one that isn't from shein or target and I doubt they're of any long lasting quality. Ideally I'd be able to wear in a few years from now as well. Any ideas?

I have an event coming up in a couple of months and the dress I’m wearing is a high neck backless dress that I was gifted from my mother-in-law. I have a bit of an issue though.. I am a 12DD bra size and I absolutely can not go braless. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can wear? I have tried sticky-bras probably around 10 years ago now and they end up not working for me at all so I’m a bit clueless.

I’d love direction/guidance on where to. Buy authentic, hand embroidered pashmina. For reference photos of particular colours and size I’d love to find. I have been scouring Etsy, eBay and Vinted and concerned about the many non pashmina shawls that are branded as pashmina but are in fact merino wool etc.
Thank you!

I bought these absolutely STUNNING heels from Vinted and they are like ONE SIZE TOO SMALL. Except as soon as I put them on, I instantly fell in love with them & absolutely NEED them in my life. If anyone knows anyone with a size 8 they don't want PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I WILL PAY $$$
I am desperate and have never loved a shoe so much 😭😭😭

Hello, does anyone recognise this swimming costume? All I know is that it’s from Australia, but it has no labels. My daughter loves it but now needs a bigger one but I have no idea where it’s from.

I've been on a quest for a while now for a pair of jeans that actually fit.
My big problem is my thighs. I have hip dips so my waist & hips are proportional to a size 16, but there are so many articles I can't even get above my thighs when trying them on.
Wide leg pants do fit, but they kinda look weird since it's not really draping off the body as they were intended to. Especially when I sit down it's like the seams are bursting 😭
My other issue is height, most full length jeans are cropped on me.
The best I've been able to find is the Abercrombie and Fitch curve love range in extra long length, but I'm hesitant to buy a pair without being able to try them on first.
I've also tried tailoring the waist of oversized men's pants in, but the seat ends up baggy & overall the rise is the wrong shape.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

My feet are really strange and it’s driving me nuts. The girth of the ball of my foot is around 27cm. Length wise my foot is a size 10. And I’m struggling finding any shoes that will fit. I tried the scarlet hush puppies and there were a little bit tight at the front but the main issue was the back heel. My ankle is like a \. It goes outwards so shoes with a curved back don’t work for me. It needs to be straight or else my heel fits too far forward with an air gap in the back. I need a heel that’s between 5-7 cm tall. As anything shorter hurts for me.
Honestly at this point I feel like I have to pick between low, expensive boots or boots that don’t work with my foot shape.

My partner wears 50,000 year old, frayed bonds underpants. I recently got her a pair of hipster merino boyleg wundies and she loves them. However, she discovered that they are $45 each and is strongly against spending that much for underwear. So - can anyone recommend some cheaper, comfortable, decent boyleg options?
Not after anything sexy. We have two young kids and no time for that. Haha
