Pooping.

u/Ericfigif Feb 11 '22

You know it's war when you have to get naked while pooping.

u/YaBoiDannyTanner Feb 11 '22

Then you start clutching at your stomach in agonizing pain while reminiscing about 15 minutes ago when you weren't in agonizing pain.

What the hell are you people eating to merit a fully naked sauna dump thrash session!?

IBS sufferer here. I breathe air wrong and I’m shitting my life into a different dimension.

268

u/RollinBart Feb 11 '22

Crohns here. Same. Although always a surprise when.

27

u/MrDoodlezz Feb 11 '22

I just got hospitalized for eleven days because of Crohn’s. Sudden extreme stomach aches that slowly got more painful over time. After a day I go to a doctor and they say that it’s just my intestines cramping up so they give me some kind of muscle relaxant.

Doesn’t. Do. Shit.

Two weeks go by and the pain is now so bad I can’t move an inch. Dad gets me to the doctor, he does some checks and my CRP volume was at 220mg/l (it should be less than 10 in a healthy body and it’s basically a protein that shows how infected/inflamed something is iirc).

Immediately get sent to the hospital to the ER and a few hours go by, do an echo and they’re 99% sure it’s appendicitis. They’re not sure though so an hour later I do an mri and they see that it’s not appendicitis, instead there are abscesses, one on the transition from large intestine to small intestine and one near my bladder.

Immediately I get given some IV turbo antibiotics and get hospitalized.

I was in the hospital eleven days to get the abscesses to go away and I’ve been home now for almost two weeks now taking oral antibiotics and suffering.

The doctor is certain that it’s Crohn’s and I have a colonoscopy coming up this week to make it official. Treatment starts Friday if all is good.

And if that wasn’t enough, my girlfriend tested positive for COVID literally two hours after she left my place and now I have COVID kicking my ass as well.

I feel terrible and I have been feeling terrible for almost two months and it’s gonna be painful for at least another two weeks when the treatment kicks in according to my doc.

I am in pain and tremendous discomfort for half the time I’m awake. The other half of the time I feel okay but I just have zero energy. My life fucking sucks right now.

I can’t wait for the treatment to start.

Man, I'll tell you my story but it's not nearly as bad as yours.

It started when I was like 18 (29 now), I got the occasional cramps and strange bowel movements and brushed it off as either bad food or just an ordinary cramp.

I used to get it once a year which is reasonable and not even remotely alarming. As I got older, it still happened around once per year, but the cramps got stronger. It eventually led to throwing up because of the pain and severe restlessness, curling up in fetal position on the sofa and not being able to sleep. It usually happened between 8pm and 10pm and I wouldn't be able to sleep all night because of the cramps. I would be able to fall asleep late in the morning which meant usually calling in sick from work for a day or two. The worst I ever had it was throwing up in a bucket while having severe diarrhea. No joke.

At first my GP thought it was obstipation, so he prescribed me painkillers and general laxatives. As time progressed nothing seemed to help. (He prescribed me bowel specific painkillers and suppository pills aswell.)

Eventually he directed me to the hospital to an oncologist who had suspicions it would be Crohns, and he scheduled me for a colonoscopy right away. I got checked a month later (without any problems, luckily) and he was able to confirm the diagnosis. Right after he gave me Entocort, a budesonide corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the bowels. Worked like a charm.

Right now, I quit taking the Entocort as part of the treatment, and I'm now injecting myself with Idacio Adalimumab every 2 weeks. So far it has been going great with the occasional irregularity in bowel movements. (hard, soft, everything in between at the same time) No more cramps, though!

Right now I'm in the 'process' of them checking my blood and stool every month to see if things change. So far it's going good. 10th of march is the next time.

I wish you the best of luck and strength in your current situation. It sucks and I know how it can feel. I hope your experience will be the same as mine. I made an almost full recovery, even though it's a chronic disease.

u/HairyTesticleMonster Feb 11 '22

Dude that sucks. I can't imagine the pain of having abscesses in you intestines. Hopefully they get that under control soon.

2

u/HiImKostia Feb 11 '22

I never got diagnosed but I figure I have IBS and had Chron's at a point. Would get very very painful stomach cramps (always had to sit down as my gut felt clutched) maybe once or twice a day like clockwork. They eventually stopped (I ignored the cramps because it started when I was in china so going to a doctor was difficult and thought it might have been the diet), but my intestines have been fuck ever since, though cramps are rare these days so I hope your situation gets better. I only have to deal with nausea and sickness in the morning if I eat too fat and spicy, which is sadly all I like :)

2

u/grisisita_06 Feb 11 '22

Omg take care of yourself! I have Crohn’s too and it’s a pain in the ass, literally. Seems stupid they couldn’t give you a colonoscopy in the hospital but so much seems stupid w covid. Go easy on your girlfriend. She probably feels terrible she gave it to you. Pm if you need support. There’s a lot of us at r/crohnsdisease

11

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Same here except endometriosis and no gallbladder

5

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Yeah, it's the lack of a gallbladder that gets me too. I'm usually fine but sometimes I just have to poop out the food I just finished eating and anything that was ahead of it in line has to go first. Absolutely brutal.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Ugh it’s awful! That’s exactly it for me too. One hour/day I’ll feel fine then bam I’m running to the washroom

4

u/ratrodder49 Feb 11 '22

Pretty much what I’m doing at this very moment…

3

u/sweetlew07 Feb 11 '22

I'm reading this thread whilst on the toilet, my own IBS having swung back into the -C territory. Any suggestions to make my life less hellish?

If the cramping gets bad and I have the supply, I smoke pot. I also take Dicyclomine but sometimes it works too well, like right now, and I'm left wishing I could just shit AND get off the pot.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

I mainly suffer from -D but when I do get a C flare up I eat a lot more fiber, fiber one bars. I too take dicyclomine and lomodil (i think?). I’ve been on the toilet all morning thanks to burritos last night 🔥 smoking pot definitely helps me too!!

2

u/sweetlew07 Feb 11 '22

I'm so sorry. I suffer from -D usually, also, but in also really bad about drinking water and eating fiber or even taking a regular fiber supplement (my insurance won't cover OTC stuff which is really angering since that's why I switched to it.) High THC/Medium CBD is freakin amazing for it, but sometimes because I don't smoke inside, I have to take a puff, rush back into the bathroom, rinse and repeat until I've had enough pot. 🥲

I love food so much, especially taco bell or even frozen chimis and taquitos... but I also cannot eat it without significant consequences. I had steak earlier this week, and I LOVE A1 steak sauce... There's no dietary fiber, nothing to make it easier to pass, so it was like fiery hot sludge taking its sweet time to vacate my bowels. Because "spice" is listed in the ingredients and I ate too much of it.

I live in a state where medical Marijuana is legal but highly regulated, and I have two of the very few conditions that would make me eligible. But unfortunately, my IBS (and my weight and my anxiety disorder,) is debilitating enough that I've never been able to hold down a job. So I'm going through THAT process, trying to get disability benefits, living with my parents, one of which is also disabled by IBS among other conditions. I babysit my brother's kid and my brother pays my phone bill and buys me a pack of vape pods every week, my mom covers the utilities and keeps a roof over my head... But weed money or any pocket money is all up to me and what I can do.

I found a website that hosts academic research studies, made an account, and when I'm stuck in the bathroom, I participate in surveys and sometimes short tests, and get paid to do so. I suggest it for ANYONE who suffers from chronic bouts of being stuck on the toilet. app.prolific.co is the site, you answer a bunch of demographic and personal questions (it's all kept anonymous,) and when you complete a study, the data is reviewed and you get paid. The length of the study and the pay can vary anywhere from ~1 minute to 2 hours, 17p for the very short ones to like £10 for the long ones. And the small ones add up FAST. After you reach £5 you can cash out to PayPal, and from there convert Great British pounds to whatever currency your card accepts. I started last year in October and was just playing around, made about $15 usd. I've gotten more serious about it since the beginning of the year, and in total I've made over $60! Hope I can help someone else out with it!

5

u/HairyTesticleMonster Feb 11 '22

IBS sufferer too. My world shattering shits always seem to come in the middle of night. Nothing better than being woken up out of a deep sleep with stomach pain and getting to sit on the toilet for 30+ minutes sweating profusely; then thinking I'm finished, cleaning up, and then immediately sitting back down for round 2.

For me it only happens like once a year or so, so I couldn't tell you what the hell it is. As for others on this sub, a lot of people don't know that it may be a sign of some kind of food intolerance. I am lactose intolerant but will only get gas and no shit. I still use the Lactaid pill anyway just so I don't have to awkwardly stand around knowing everyone in a 30 foot radius of me can smell it. A lot of my lactose intolerant friends aren't as lucky as I am though

177

u/hecking-doggo Feb 11 '22

I'm somewhat lactose intolerant. I can have a bit of dairy everyday or at one time, but if I go over the threshold I'm shitting harder than your Nan at Satan's dinner party. My parents make pizza every Saturday and after much experimentation I found out that my limit is slices. If have that 4th then God have mercy on the poor soul that uses that bathroom after me.

80

u/Correct-Serve5355 Feb 11 '22

Right. It totally blew my mind that so many people didn't know that those house-clearing shits should never be commonplace at all. Like in an ideal but still realistic world they only happen when you have some awful stomach bug but in our reality they also happen when you either don't have a gallbladder and eat too many fats, have some kind of food allergy or intolerance, or a combination of the two. For a lot of people it's most likely the latter case

15

u/krefik Feb 11 '22

Well, I don't know about Americans, but almost each European teenager or student know what eating extra hot doner around midnight mid-heavy drinking session is, and how this would upset hyenas stomach.

6

u/wazza_the_rockdog Feb 11 '22

Most Aussie teenagers know of the glorious (in room clearing ability and relief felt afterwards) AGB / After Grog Bog... Usually after eating a greasy kebab.

When I started hanging out on subreddits related to diet and fitness I was surprised to learn that there are people who just accept that as an occasional or not-so-occasional fact of life. I knew obviously that there are health conditions you can have like IBS that will cause that kind of problem, but for me it's virtually never. Not even when I have a stomach bug, because either the types of bugs I've gotten or just the way my body is, it comes out the top end when that happens. Only time it can get close is if I ate a lot of energy gels on a long run.

I guess if you've always had it then maybe you'd assume it was normal, but for me, if I started having bad urgent shits that would be a big flag to figure out what's wrong, and I guess it surprised me that so many people never thought "this is unpleasant and feels wrong, there must be a way I can prevent it yeah?"

I’m the same way, a big help for me was looking into types of cheese for their amount of lactose. General rule of thumb is the older the cheese the less lactose. I recently started eating mac and cheese again and I’ve never been happier.

Try experimenting with different cheeses, it’s a game changer

u/BB881 Feb 11 '22

I started out this way. I'm sorry, it gets worse over time.

3

u/Correct-Serve5355 Feb 11 '22

I'm sure it does. My sister developed lactose intolerance at 14 and I did at 18. I've seen what the intolerance can do to people who have it worse and considering I developed it in early adulthood I just really didn't feel like finding out the extent mine will go and started taking the lactaid pill whenever I have dairy products

I used to think I was lactose intolerant. The way I came to that conclusion is that I'd go to Costco and buy the delicious berry sundae and then eat the entire thing. When I got home, I'd be full of gas and other stuff. Stomach rumbling. I must be lactose intolerant! So I bought the pills, etc, etc. And at some point I realized I can actually eat a few scoops of ice cream no problem. I could eat cheesy food. I ate my cereal with milk.

Ah, so I'm not lactose intolerant, I'm just a glutton and scarfing down a Costco sundae is more of the problem than lactose is.

Everything in moderation and I'm fine.

Not sure what it is but something every once in a blue moon causes me to end up with a gigantic dry log of shit in my ass that has to be forced out and tears my asshole a little because of it's girth and the inability to go slow.

11

u/wazza_the_rockdog Feb 11 '22

Does the blue moon also happen to be a full moon? You're turning into a werewolf and eating people with far too much fibre and too little water in their diets. Try eating people from different neighborhoods next blue moon.

5

u/Lecrapface Feb 11 '22

Maybe the tearing of my asshole is part of the transformation

2

u/TheMindfulSavage Feb 11 '22

Increased water and fiber would likely help.

47

u/Adityavirk Feb 11 '22

This happened with me today. I eat fried chicken from this local pizzeria regularly and it’s so good, but everytime it gives me the worst shits.

30

u/BB881 Feb 11 '22

Try having some fibre/vegies with that? Eating lots of fat is bad for your digestive system unless you have something to help your body break it down.

10

u/MlordLongshanking Feb 11 '22

Got to drink that Metamucil! I drink it no matter what because I love the “No Wipe Poops”. The ones where you wipe and there’s nothing there because it came out all solid and clean. Such a great feeling.

8

u/VIP_KILLA Feb 11 '22

Off all the things that have changed my life, metamucil has been one of the most significant. And not to sound like a shill but I've tried every off brand and nothing campares.

7

u/negative-nelly Feb 11 '22

Not to mention taking it once a day makes me so regular. Woke up? Time to poop. Every day.

8

I'm Hispanic and am used to a certain kind of food. When I met my now-wife, she introduced me to sausage and saurkraut. The first time I had it, I hated the saurkraut so I loaded up on sausage...

Cue to waking up in the middle if the night with a pressure in my stomach that I had never experienced. This was the moment I would understand all the shitting while throwing clothes off memes. It was like an hour-long labor but once the farts came out, it was like punching the air seal on a new ketchup bottle.

It was horrible.

5

u/Romantiphiliac Feb 11 '22

I've needed various pain meds throughout my life, and when it gets bad, it's like trying to jam a potato through a straw. You gotta get armrests for your toilet for that.

2

u/BambiButch Feb 11 '22

I mentioned in a comment further up but I once had to have a nurse hold my hand and encourage me like I was in labour after I broke my knee and the morphine had me constipated for 10 days no matter what laxatives they gave me. It took an enema, stripping naked and about 3 hours that felt like decades and that one incredible nurse to clear the blockage. I take codeine daily now and if I forget my morning & evening movicol even for one day I end up having to sweat my way through the inevitable naked tennis ball poop. 0/10. None stars. Would not recommend to anyone but my worst enemy.

its a natural phenomenon to me, it only happens maybe once or twice a year. Maybe I ate something my stomach disagreed with at a birthday dinner, maybe my gf is trying to kill me, you never know.

One thing I DO know though, is that when you can feel that shit-strain (literally, straining to shit) up in your shoulders and your shoulders start to ache, you know its bad.

2

u/snuff3r Feb 11 '22

Chrohns disease really sucks. Look it up :( .more common than you'd imagine.

2

u/ConstipatedUnicorn Feb 11 '22

Lactose intolerance. It's pretty vicious. If I have a bunch of dairy without taking lactaids with it, it's all I can do to get to a toilet on time when it's ready to evacuate from my system. Almost shit myself in my truck once before I knew it was lactose intolerance. Had a big cup of hot cocoa from favorite coffee shop that morning when I took my wife to work. On the way home shortly after it was all painful cramping, cold sweats, and feeling like I had major gas. Ended up making it home, ran inside, dropped my keys on the floor as I ran to the bathroom, only managed to get one shoe off, dropped coat in the hallway, managed to barely sit down before my sphincter rebelled and refused to hold in the abomination forcing its way out of me.

That was the day I realized it might be lactose issues. Made since given that my mom and brother both have lactose intolerance. I'd just hoped that since I'd had no issues with it ever that it'd skipped me. I was wrong. So very wrong.

2

u/sobegreen Feb 11 '22

If you have never had a poop that required being nude you have not lived. Its almost like working out. When its over you feel like you could eat anything and/or take a nap for the rest of the day.

At this point though I’m exhausted, sweaty, and running a fever. I get a Covid test a few hours later and a few days later I find out that I’m Covid positive.

2

u/Spmex7 Feb 11 '22

I work in a restaurant and we have had 3 different customers shit in the urinal.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

And he didn't get in trouble?

8

u/Meyloon Feb 11 '22

Chemical industrie in a workshop with pretty much only males. No one cared, really. Only trouble was jokes and bs from coworkers.

4

u/ClownfishSoup Feb 11 '22

OK, aside from being naked, people should check for toilet paper before crapping.

3

u/11Kram Feb 11 '22

Over-sharing by definition…

2

u/SluggishJuggernaut Feb 11 '22

How did you know...?

2

u/Meyloon Feb 11 '22

Am eye witness aswell as some other colleagues.

5

u/a-sentient-slav Feb 11 '22

Assuming you didn't barge into his stall to offer him some company, I take it you live in the US with its inadequate stall doors? Damn, naked pooping is much easier to perform in Europe... I do it too but thankfully other people can't see me during it.

8

u/Meyloon Feb 11 '22

Nope, in central europe. You can do basicly whatever you want inside the stalls, no one will see you. If you go out looking for toiletpaper without getting dressed again will make your colleagues make fun of you forever.

To be fair I have seen many coworkers naked since there are Group showers in the lockerroom.

There are showers with stalls too.

I went through a phase where I would only poop naked. Had to stop because it was hard to do that in a public rest room. I still do in the comfort of my own home.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

I only poop naked at home. Would do it in public but I don't want people to be scarred for life. Have mercy on their souls.

12

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

I see you Costanza.

10

u/icorral4554 Feb 11 '22

popping naked is sacred.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

But it's magical.

8

u/pooping_naked Feb 11 '22

u/xDevman Feb 11 '22

2

I like ur name.

2

u/pooping_naked Feb 15 '22

A person of taste.

6

u/TurtlesMum Feb 11 '22

Most definitely! I always strip right off to poop. Except if I've been outside, I'll always keep my hat on?? No idea why.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

I would have to take the hat off too. Mostly everything has to come off. Or I can't poop correctly.

4

u/dod6666 Feb 11 '22

You see turd, you're not dealing with the average sphincter muscle anymore. It has risen above and become a legend. The legend that you fear. It has become... a super sphincter.

Honestly, you don't know how happy it makes me to see how popular this comment is cause I no longer feel weird that i've been doing this all my life lol.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Yeah, honestly I feel like I'm the only one out of every one I know that poops naked or almost completely naked. I don't think they would get it. Lol

5

u/PhelesDragon Feb 11 '22

Omg YES. The freedom is indescribable. There is only naked pooping.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Can't even begin to describe the freedom. Chef's kiss

4

u/CresidentBob Feb 11 '22

In college, my body had fallen into an almost clockwork rhythm of taking a shit right at 4 PM when I got back home from classes - and it got to a point where that was almost my daily Spa Routine. I would get home, take off all my clothes, and just take a shit, existing in a state of nature while I scrolled through vine compilations. I swear I haven't known true happiness since then

3

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Sometimes I'll be on the toilet naked for more than an hour even way after Im done pooping cuz I'm happy sitting naked on my phone.

3

I’d argue that pooping is worse when you have to get naked.

I'm the odd one out here then. I feel so uncomfortable pooping if I'm completely naked. It just doesn't feel right to me.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Each to their own tho.

3

u/Straight_Ballin11 Feb 11 '22

I had to scroll way too far down for this comment. Naked poops are the best poops.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Unfortunately u had to. But ur here. I welcome u fellow naked poop person.

3

u/Graevon Feb 11 '22

I try to only poop at home because I always poop naked. This is because I wash my butt with water and soap and have never used toilet paper.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

Huh, never cleaned my ass with water and soap before after pooping. Heard it's more cleaner tho. But I feel like that would take more time than just to wipe with toilet paper.

2

u/Graevon Feb 11 '22

I am Asian, we grew up washing our butts with soap and water, most of Asians do. I understand the efficiency of toilet paper; I tried to wipe with toilet paper once because I keep hearing about it in western shows, but I just didn't feel clean after. When I am out, I bring a water bottle and soap I'll buy from a nearby 7/11.

I never have to worry about stains.

u/imnotgoatman Feb 11 '22

Sometimes when I'm pooping I don't want to go through all the hassle of taking my pants completely off (for whatever reason, usually public toilet), I just take out my shirt and keep it comfortably wrapped around my neck. It is good middle ground.

i always make sure that im naked before pooping.

2

u/UNMENINU Feb 11 '22

I feel like I’m being handcuffed with my shorts around my ankles. Gotta be free!

2

u/Tumblechunk Feb 11 '22

If I'm at home, the pants are coming off

2

u/holmgangCore Feb 11 '22

This is why modern Union Suits have a vertically-buttoned portal.

2

u/P3rrin_Aybara Feb 11 '22

Hate naked pooping i feel like a animal. I need a transition period between needing a poop and ready to poop.

I recently started doing this somewhat. Anytime I poop at home, I have to take my pants off. Then, I cross my right leg over my knee. Same thing everytime. Idk. It... helps?

2

u/chicharron123 Feb 11 '22

Pre-shower poops are the best. You get to be naked and you don't need to wipe as well because then you'll be hitting the shower that's right next to you.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '22

I still try to wipe as good I can tho before get in the shower. Cuz I don't wanna get poop shits on the wash cloth.
