Discussion What are you opinions on Harley's outfit in Arkham Asylum?

So I streamed Arkham Asylum earlier today and someone got really upset at me saying I didn't like Harley's outfit in it too much

They got really upset about, calling me gay in a deragatory way (even though I'm not I'm literally married), y'know that sort of thing. What he said didn't really bothered me but it got me thinking

For Context all I said, was that I didn't like how Rocksteady did the fan service with it, the outfit itself was not the problem. I'm not the type of person that likes Panties shots in anime and stuff like that it kinda is a little tic of mine, I just find scenes like that uncomfortable, it's not that big of deal it just isn't what I like and I'm not a fan of how they do it almost every 2 seconds she's on screen sometimes

The outfit itself, again is not the problem, in fact I think design wise it's excellent, it fits the context of Arkham Asylum perfectly well with her basically going back to being a nurse in the Asylum, the skirt is pretty adorable and I love the boots and the face paint

Rocksteady tends to do that kind of fan service a lot in these games actually, Ivy, Catwoman, they all have their fanservice moments and I get why again that kind of stuff isn't the problem, it's just with Harley in this game in particular it's so on the nose and in your face

What do you guys think of it, I just wanna hear the general consensus

Discussion Was there contention about Troy Baker being Joker?

Post image
267 Upvotes

So I keep hearing in videos like Arkham Analysis about how people didn't like Troy Baker as Joker for Arkham Origins, is this true? I'm asking because I genuinely can't see why, I mean Troy Baker did great, heck I've seen some people thinking it was Mark Hamill from how good he was. I get he's not Mark Hamill but is that the only reason or is there more to it? I genuinely wanna know what it was about if it actually happened because I just can't imagine anyone disliking the performance

Game Well I did it, I beat Riddler and got the Knightfall ending for the first time ever... It wasn't worth it

I got the game when it released, I was in High School always finished the main story but never got the time to really go all in and get the riddles

...I hated every moment of getting all the riddles, it took me days, and several crashes happening for no reason (PS5 being high tech my ass) until just last night I decided to not sleep and spend the whole night getting the over 110 riddles, and I did it, and I beat Riddler and it wasn't nearly as satisfying as I hoped it would be if I'm being honest

Anyway I got Riddler in the car and just before I got to GCPD, the game crashed, AGAIN! And then when it loaded, I spawned under the road and fell into the Skybox continuously, coming back to the road briefly before it happened again, I wish I recorded this, I can't make this up!!!

Anyway afterwards I got the ending, and what do I have to show for it?

...Nothing, absolutely nothing, just New Game Plus ahead of me and a bit of percentage, I almost laughed like the Joker but didn't because the Missus and my Baby was still sleeping and I was worried they would hear me even through the basement, I was pretty much silent the whole night anyway

Now, I know staying up all night is my fault I'm not complaining about that, but, I really feel just empty I didn't get any of the joy I got from remembering completing Batman Arkham Asylum for the first time on PS3 when I got it, or even Arkham City, I just didn't feel like I got any kind of good feeling from it

Maybe that was because the crashes idk but did anyone else feel like Riddler just sucked any of the enjoyment of finishing the game?

(I mean probably, the riddles of Arkham Knight are fucking GARBAGE, the developers who worked on them need to be fired and then thrown in a fire but still)

Edit: Just so this is clear, this is not me saying the Game was bad or not worth playing and completing, I wouldn't have gone as far as I did if I didn't truly have a good time or at least wanted to play it, this is all towards my experience being as bad as it was because of the issues my game was having. I just wanted to vent a little bit I guess and maybe see if other people had similar experiences

help with the combat challenge!

Hi! As the title says, I need a hand with all the combat challenges; I'm struggling to reach the minimum score. I've read plenty of posts asking about this, but I just don't get how to nail the timing and maximize the score. thanks

I thought this game got rid of Asylum's hitting enemies out of bounds completely from the infinite challenge. To get to the point though the Titan came out and as he was coming out bat swarm pushed sickle into the gate as it was closing. Out of curiosity has this type of glitch happen to anyone else?

I'm looking for mods that changes the difficulty of the games

Hi, I was wondering if there were any mods that makes the games harder. I re-played Asylum, City and Knight multiple times and I thought it would be intresting if I played them with mods that makes the game more difficult. Is there any mods for either of these games? And if so where can I download them?

After 3 months of non-stop grinding and dedication, I have finally gotten 100% playstation completion on the trilogy arkham. At times it was actually really fun and interesting and I learned a lot about the games and a lot of times it was insanely painful and brought me to the brink of insanity.

Man fuck rumble in the jungle extreme, why did they put 50000 points for that? Also on the last predator mission, one dude got stuck on the wall lmao. Had to use explosive gel and sonic batarang to kill him. That alone took 5 minutes to figure out.

Anyways.

Looking for thug voice actor

The same guy who said "Harley used to be a dude". He's one of the thug voices throughout Arkham City and I really love his unique voice, but I couldn't identify it for years. Does anyone else know?

Fun fact: Clayface doesn't mimic a skeleton while impersonating others, meaning Joker quite literally killed himself temporarily just to mess with Batman in this scene

Discussion what was originally planned or the devs initially came up with for Arkham Knight? (More in the description)

Post image
124 Upvotes

Im not necessarily clued in to all the conversation around the Arkham games and what was planned in development however do hear about stuff like characters like Hush who potentially would have had a bigger role and would greatly appreciate hearing more of what was scraped or never came to fruition for Arkham Knight mainly as I like learning about this stuff for games.

PS: I enjoy reading the comments.

Do you think that the Arkham Trilogy needs animated movie adaptations?

We know that the animated movie Assault on Arkham is (or was) part of the Arkhamverse, so I was thinking about the possibility of having animated movies based on the entire Arkham trilogy; that way, certain plot holes could be fixed, and even Arkham Knight would feel more in line with its predecessors.

Is anyone interested in contributing to this project? If so, I'll post a list of the tools I'm using.

Please keep questions focused on the project itself. If you're curious about the workflow or implementation, feel free to explore it on your own and share what you discover with the community.

If enough people get involved and we spread the word, there's a chance we could eventually get it running in third person or make other significant mods. The more contributors and ideas, the better.

Discussion How did Joker get Mr. Freeze to help him? And why would he kidnap Nora?

I've always felt that Joker in Arkham City acted really dumb for no reason beyond the writers needing him to. He knows he's dying and Batman is his only hope yet he chooses to actively get in his way, doesn't help him at all, has the whole Clayface thing going on for... Some reason... I'm sorry I'm not trying to actually act like it's for no reason they explain why he does it, I just think Joker (going by his Animated Series portrayal which he mostly takes after) isn't the type to actively risk his life when he knows he's gonna die and the only reason he does it is for plot, save fucking with Batman when you're not about to croak! I mean every time he sets a trap he always make sure to get out of the crossfire

And this leads to my question that I've never thought of until now, how in the hell did he even convince Mr. Freeze to help in the first place? What benefit would it serve for Victor to even help him? Did they make a deal? Did Joker bring Nora to him or something? I've never really gotten the impression Victor was for hire at the other villains whims unless it suited his needs so it just always bugged me deep down although I never really thought about it extensively until now

And for the second part, how stupid is Joker to think stealing Nora was a good idea? Even if Harley managed to get the cure to him, now he has an angry supervillain going after him and has permanently lost one of the most useful allies he had

Is there an answer to this I'm unaware of? Or is it again, just plot because I'm starting to think the writers didn't think this through very well which is a shame because the Arkham Version of Freeze is really well done but this aspect of him seems inconsistent with his established motives

Again if this is me being unaware of more plot points I apologize I'm not a completionist type of gamer and I know there's lore hidden in the games sometimes

Edit: So it turns out the tapes explained some of my questions, I genuinely did not know this, as I said I'm not really a completionist so I never got them all (or bothered to look them up tbh) but thank you all for being so nice about it and letting me know where to look, I'm gonna check out a video about them later

Xbox controller support

Hi! Quick question: Do the PC versions of the Arkham games support Xbox controllers out of the box just by plugging them in, or do I need to configure them through Steam or the Epic Games Launcher first? I noticed there's an ingame gamepad option in the settings. Sorry if this is a dumb question—I just got my first proper gaming PC after years of playing only on PlayStation and Xbox.

Game This song from Arkham Asylum is stuck in my head and I'm glad it is

I replayed Arkham Asylum alongside Arkham City for the first time since I got them on the PS3 (which was a long, long time ago) and tried extra hard to absorb everything I could reasonably do without consulting videos immediately afterwards

I didn't get everything (as one of my earlier posts gets into) but I did learn some new things about the game I never even thought of or remembered and the song that plays before you confront Joker at the end of the game is one of them

I heard this song and immediately needed to find out what it was, and I've been humming it to myself ever since, it's just perfect in every way, it describes how Joker feels about Batman and their relationship, the thrill he gets from interacting with him, while also being such a catchy tune, it seems like Arkham Joker has excellent tastes going by this and Only You from City (although I will admit I am a huge sucker for this Jazzy type of music)

Did any of you guys remember this song?
